1992 Corvette, 6-speed, Rare Color, Two Prior Calif. Owners!

Harry's Thoughts

This is a very nice example that is sure to help make its new caretaker many happy memories!

THE ESSENTIALS

This is a two previous owner California car that has been lovingly owned by active Corvette club members in Southern California.  It is featured in its exceptionally rare original paint, Black Rose Metallic (Code 73) with new tan leather interior and, importantly, Corvette’s spectacular 6-Speed manual transmission.  It has covered 108k miles since new and is complete with a full service history since new.  Recent maintenance includes proper servicing, a new and updated air conditioning system and there are no oil leaks!! We’ve reduced the price for a quick sale!

With such a rare blend of colors and features, we believe this motorcar to likely be unique for 1992.  Only one in four Corvette were 6-Speed manuals, and only about 5 percent were featured in Black Rose Metallic (1,186 made).  Other options ordered with this car include: Sport Seats ($1,100), Passenger and Drivers Power Seats ($610), Air Conditioning ($205), Selective Ride and Handling ($1,695), California Emissions ($100) for a total MSRP of over $37,000.

This car has been very well maintained.  With a full service history this motorcar is ready for touring and showing.  The 300 HP engine delivers 0 to 60 mph times at 5.7 seconds.  Our understanding is that this car has been upgraded with a performance program to deliver even better performance.

Interesting Fact: The Chevy Corvette has been in production for over 60 years and eight design generations have been created. Executives decided on the name “Corvette” by comparing it to the small maneuverable warship. This vehicle is also widely known as “America’s Sports Car” and is one of the most popular vehicles in history. This vehicle has always been offered in either a 2-door coupé or convertible. Over the years, different engines have been used ranging from 5.7-liter LT1 V8’s to 6.2-litre LT5 supercharged V8’s. Today, the standard Chevy Corvette uses a 6.2-liter naturally aspirated V8 that gives the car 495 horsepower and a 0 to 60 acceleration of just 2.8 seconds. Notable variants of the base Chevy Corvette have been produced over the years, such as the Stingray and Z06. In the early 1970s, GM president Ed Cole was convinced to provide three NASA astronauts with new Corvettes, and this led to a long-standing unofficial tie between the companies. The Chevy Corvette is still one of the highest-performing vehicles in production and is a dream car for many!
