THE ESSENTIALS

SOLD to New Orleans! This is a terrific classic to enjoy as a daily driver or to take to regional shows. It has all the right specs: 4-speed manual transmission with overdrive, factory air conditioning and fastidiously maintained with detailed records. We love the maroon livery with black interior. Overall, the cosmetics are of driver quality and will provide years of service for the next owner. The car has been thoroughly mechanically maintained to excellent condition. $8,200 of receipts invested in the past year to make this an excellent driving P1800E.

All maintenance and repairs have been completed to make this a terrific driving 1800E. It can be driven and enjoyed anywhere without any issue, except lots of thumbs ups and smiles!

This 1972 Volvo P1800E coupe is presented in a stunning color combination of Maroon over black. Under previous ownership the car was professionally repainted along with many enhancements. The car is powered by a Volvo B20 1,986-cc inline four-cylinder fuel-injected engine and paired to a four-speed manual transmission. with overdrive. The present owner has spent thousands with a vintage Volvo specialist and all mechanical systems have been checked or rebuilt. It is ready to drive anywhere, anytime.

The Volvo rides on factory wheels; four-wheel disc brakes bring the car to a safe stop. The interior is completed in the factory black vinyl and features a wood dash with Smiths instrumentation as well as a Blaupunkt radio and cassette player. The air conditioning works well and the tinted windows helps reduce the sun from heating up the passenger compartment.

Volvo debuted its front engine, rear-wheel-drive sports car in 1961. Initially named the P1800, Volvo contracted the British firm Jensen to build 10,000 cars. The partnership, however, was short lived, with Jensen having difficulty with quality control. Volvo opted to move production internally in 1963. For 1970 Volvo debuted the 1800E, and the cars now featured a more powerful fuel-injected engine and four-wheel disc brakes.

Initially made famous by the television show The Saint, starring Roger Moore, the Volvo 1800 has developed a cult following. From the beautiful 1960s styling and desirable color combination, to its modern fuel-injected engine and four-wheel-disc brakes, this 1971 Volvo 1800E is an excellent collector vehicle, and arguably one of the most iconic models to hail from Sweden.

The P1800E is a modern collectible that is popular worldwide. This is one of the most solid rust free original cars and with the four-speed manual with overdrive and air conditioning it has all the right stuff! Perhaps most importantly, it has been in California and Arizona most of its life and is truly rust free. If you are looking to enjoy a P1800E, this could be your car. Interesting Fact: The Volvo P1800E was originally marketed as a touring car but is actually a front-engine sports car. Though it wasn’t an E, a Volvo 1800S variant is famous for having the highest mileage on a private, non-commercial vehicle at 3.2 million miles.   Desiring a sports car that could compete in the American and European markets, Volvo decided to manufacture the 1800 series. In 1970, the 1800E was released with features a B20E engine that allows for a top speed of 118 miles per hour and a 0 to 62.1 acceleration of 9.5 seconds.    The 1800E was the first model to actually feature four-wheel disc brakes and a new “F” head on the engine. As for the vehicles name, the “E” was derived from the German word “Einspritzung” which means fuel injection in English. Volvo is known now for making mid-priced vehicles, so managing to acquire a sports car produced by the company, such as the 1800E, is a rare find!
