Harry's Thoughts

This is a very nice example that is sure to help make its new caretaker many happy memories!

THE ESSENTIALS

This is a terrific car for tour or show.  With very few produced, the Centurion convertibles are extremely rare today with even fewer in this stunning color combination of Fire Red (Code R) with white interior.

It is obvious that this has been well maintained its entire life.  The interior is all original and is in very nice condition.  The paint has been recently repainted and is in nice condition.  The present owner has chrome plated the bumpers and other items as well as adding very rare accessories such as the dual spot lights and temperature reading side mirror.

We love the venerable 455 cu. in. V8 engine with its perfect dependability and fabulous muscle car performance.

Interesting Fact: The Buick Centurion was produced from 1971 to 1973 by General Motors and is a full-size car built on a B platform. This model was meant to be the sporty version of Buick’s full-size car lines and was marketed between the Buick LeSabre and Electra.   Aa unique fact about this model is that the emblem is not the standard Buick emblem, but rather a centurion, which is the reason for the cars name. Depending on the exact model, a 7.5-liter V8 or a 5.7-liter V8 were used to give about 315 horsepower at 4400 rpm.    Sales of the Centurion numbered nearly 30,000 which made it one of the most popular models available during its release. This, along with the sheer power this model provided for its time, make the Buick Centurion a desired option for any car lovers and knowledgeable collectors!
