THE ESSENTIALS
This is a striking 1964 Cadillac Eldorado Biarritz convertible that has been sympathetically restored as needed to be a terrific touring car as well as for exhibiting at local shows. It has been refinished correctly to its original configuration as it was built on the 5th week of January, 1964. It is very well optioned with the incredibly rare bucket seat option with the center console.
The Eldorado was part of the Fleetwood Series 63 and is the top-of-the-line for convertibles. Generally, for every ten DeVille convertibles made, only one Eldorado was sold. Only 1,870 Eldorado’s were made in 1964. This makes them very rare and, we believe, are the model to collect, retain and enjoy. This example was part of a very large collection for the past eight years.
The Eldorado’s livery is beautifully refinished in its original Firemist Saddle Metallic (Paint Code 97-1) and features its correct White vinyl convertible top (Top Code 1). The paint has been professionally polished and is mirror finished and is without orange peel. The paint and body preparation was very well done. It is a base coat, clear coat application that has deep brilliance. There is a very small area the size of a pencil eraser on the drivers front fender where is a small blemish, which is barely visible.
The chrome and stainless steel are in good to very good condition. The bumpers appear to have been rechromed and are very nice. The original trim is in overall good condition, with normal scratches and blemishes from age and use. The door handles have very minor pitting as seen in the photo gallery. The white convertible top is in excellent condition and works very well. The rear window is clear and in excellent condition. There are two top boots: one that is older and original and a newer top boot that needs to be properly fitted to the snaps. Overall, the Eldorado looks terrific and would be at home at local and regional car shows.
The interior has also been largely restored to its original white (Trim Code 10), but was finished in a high quality soft vinyl instead of leather. The highlight is the very rare option of white bucket seats with the sporty center console trimmed in wood. We would guess that only about 10% of the Eldorados have this option, making this one of the most desirable configurations for an open Cadillac. The white vinyl is overall in very nice condition and is soft and supple with all of the attributes of leather. The hand-rubbed African Baku wood paneling is everywhere throughout the interior, and is in excellent original condition. The dash pad has been refinished and looks great. The two-tone steering wheel is original and has a couple of small cracks as shown in the photo gallery. This Eldorado also features the factory optional seat belts.
The power windows and power convertible top all work well. The optional Soft Ray glass is in very good condition as well. The air conditioning has been serviced and we are working on the controllers to ensure its operation. We will update the status in the coming days.
The engine compartment is very well detailed. The venerable 429 CID V8 produces 340 HP and performs very well. The Turbo Hydromatic also performs as it should. We believe the mileage is correct at 86,000 based on all the evidence, our inspection and test-drives. This Eldorado has a beautiful and tight drive with its 129.5″ wheelbase. Please refer to our 158-point inspection for details. Included in the sale is the owners manual and original sales brochure. The undercarriage is free of rot and is in very good condition, but has never been detailed.

Should the Bucket seats be powered ? I don’t see a switch in the drivers door panel, are they manually operated ?
We have switched our software development team. We were having issues yesterday and today with the auction functionality and have decided to end the auctions for now. This is now immediately available via Private Sales. We apologize. Thanks.
