THE ESSENTIALS
PRICE REDUCED!! This gorgeous Biarritz underwent a complete, no expense spared, full rotisserie restoration beginning in 2015 by several renowned Cadillac restorers. She was a completely rust-free example prior to undergoing her painstaking restoration using only original or NOS parts. The results are a better-than-new, stunning 1956 Cadillac Eldorado Biarritz. She is a Senior Award Winner at the Cadillac & LaSalle Club. With less than 40 miles on her since the completed restoration, she is ready to be shown at National Concours events and shows. This Biarritz is simply stunning in her correct and original triple black livery.
At $6,556, the Eldorado was nearly $1,800 more expensive than the lesser Series 62 Convertible. This Biarritz is one of 2,150 produced and was sent from the factory to Kansas City, KS. By February 20, 1976, she was acquired by David Ventresca of Los Angeles, CA. The history file contains the original California title and many years of registrations. Mr. Ventresca had produced many award-winning Cadillacs. His 1953 Eldorado was included in the General Motors 2011 Cadillac Heritage Display at Pebble Beach. By 1980, the Biarritz was acquired by Harvey Stelte from Alberta, Canada to be restored. Mr. Stelte carefully and thoroughly disassembled the Biarritz for a rotisserie restoration and accumulated countless extra parts but failed to make further progress in his 35 years of ownership. The Biarritz was stored until the current owner purchased her on July 23, 2015. The current owner began the extensive, photo documented, three-year restoration that was led by Art Wright Restorations in Tempe, AZ. Each of the specialty trades were done by some of the most respected restoration professionals. The restoration was completed in 2019 and the results are what we consider to be a better-than-new, stunning 1956 Cadillac Eldorado Biarritz. In her inaugural competition, she easily earned a Senior Award at the Cadillac & LaSalle Club 2019 Grand National Meet in Louisville, KY.
The gorgeous factory black paint (Paint Code 10) is absolutely stunning. She has incredible luster and is polished to perfection presenting a deep and rich mirror finish. The original and NOS trim details have all been meticulously replated and also polished to perfection. The door caps and side moldings are in as-new condition and devoid of imperfections. The 200-plus piece front grill was painstakingly completely disassembled and anodized in the correct gold color in California and includes a NOS Cadillac script logo. The gorgeous three-piece Sabre wheels were restored and anodized in the correct gold color by Valley Wire Wheels. She has perfect and correct new black vinyl power convertible top (Top Code 2) that had never been down before our photo shoot and operates flawlessly. The Parade Boot is in new condition and comes complete with the storage case which fits nicely into place inside the trunk with the factory correct holding straps.
The flawless black-on-black leather interior (Trim Code 11) is factory correct and was restored by Carl Kranston of Original Leather Interiors. It was a seven-month process which required seven cow hides, the most of any Cadillac model. The interior is well optioned and includes the signal-seeking Wonder Bar AM radio, EZ Eye glass (Accessory Code E), Heater (Accessory Code H), Autronic-Eye, Remote Control Trunk Lock (Accessory Code S) and Casco Automatic cigar/cigarette lighter. The overall attention to detail and finish of the interior is stunning and show as new, or better-than-new.
The engine compartment is in concours condition and shows as factory correct and new. The matching numbers drivetrain is powered by a newly rebuilt 365 ci overhead valve V-8 producing 305 hp through the dual 4-barrel carburetors. The power is transferred through a newly restored 4-speed Hydra-Matic Automatic Transmission. Her underbody has been coated in the factory-correct Red Oxide Primer and shows as new. All suspension parts and brakes are all correct and in new condition. This Biarritz has completed less than 40 miles since the completion of the restoration.
The trunk is completely restored with new lining and shows beautifully. The spare wheel has the correct restored Sabre wheel, and the jack is also fully restored.
This Biarritz comes complete with photos recording the restoration process, extensive restoration documents, receipts, owner’s manuals, Cadillac advertising glamor brochure, Cadillac Shop Manual, Official Judging Manual, Authenticity Manual and Cadillac Parts List Manual.
