THE ESSENTIALS

SOLD via Private Treaty!! 2017 Ford Mustang, Petty’s Garage “Bootlegger Edition”, Prototype, 1 of 1, 825 hp, As New!

This is the one and only Petty’s Garage prototype for the 2018 Bootlegger Edition Mustang. According to Petty’s Garage, this new blacked-out pony conservatively produces to 825 horsepower (they mention it’s likely really 850hp), and the original prototype was unveiled during the Scottsdale Auction Week in Arizona. World reknowned Mercedes collector Philip Lutfy, MD bought the car on a whim, and now we are offering it for sale with a mere 94 miles accumulated (90 miles were the “test miles” and the present owner has added 4 miles).

This particular vehicle is a one-of-one 2017 prototype built to prove out the Bootlegger series. Only 43 (Get it? The King’s race car number) have been built. This prototype features Edelbrock’s 2650 supercharger which boosts the stock Mustang GT’s output to the aforementioned 825+ ponies. To help keep the vehicle under control and firmly planted, the car comes standard with Magnaflow cat-back exhaust, a special Barton short-throw shifter with a unique Petty’s Garage knob, big Wilwood brakes, unique Niche wheels, and Continental Extreme ContactSport tires.

The modifications didn’t stop with mechanical upgrades. This pony is over the top in style with the unique custom Niche wheels, custom racing spoiler, special labeling inside and out showing it to be a Petty’s Garage example and a gorgeous host of interior modifications. The car comes with certifications, a host of Petty’s signatures to the car, certificates, book, and a signed bottle of Petty’s special whisky!

“The Bootlegger concept was designed to be the ultimate sleeper vehicle.” — Petty’s Garage

This is a terrific opportunity to buy a one of a kind Petty’s Garage prototype (1 of 1) that was the basis of 43 examples sold. As in fine art, the prototypes are the most important and expensive in limited editions. This car is extensively covered on the internet, including this write-up:

Interesting Fact: The Ford Mustang has been in continuous production since 1964 and is currently in its sixth generation. This vehicle was originally predicted to sell 100,000 units but ended up selling 400,000 in its first year, and the one-millionth was sold within two years of launch. From 1965 to 1973, the Ford Mustang was created from the compact Ford Falcon. In 1974, however, Ford decided to rework the Mustang to be a longer-wheelbase version of the Pinto. This model, called the Mustang II, was standard until the Mustang began using the Fox platform in 1979. The Ford Mustang stopped using the Fox platform in 2005 and has since produced two generations that use their own unique platforms. The sporty vehicle has offered six-cylinder and eight-cylinder engines throughout its lifespan, but a four-cylinder model is the base today. Throughout the years, varying models of the Ford Mustang were denoted with different nameplates such as GT, Mach 1, Cobra, and more. This muscle car is still a popular option for car buyers and enthusiasts today!
