THE ESSENTIALS
SOLD to California!!
Interesting Facts: The Jaguar XK series replaced the XJS and featured Jaguar’s AJ-V8, its first 8-cylinder model since the legacy Daimler 250. The XK shared its platform with the Aston Martin DB7 which was itself based on the stillborn XJ41/42 project built on a modified XJ-S chassis conceived in the mid-1980s.
We are proud to offer this exceptionally beautiful, rather rare 2007 Jaguar XKR Coupe. With just under 52,000 original miles, a recent full service, history documentation, a clean CARFAX, and a timeless black on black color combination, this Jag surely qualifies as an instant modern classic. This is collector owned and has been loved since new.
The second generation of the XK (X150) debuted in 2005 at the Frankfurt Motor Show in Germany, styled by Jaguar’s chief designer Ian Callum. The X150’s grille was designed to recall the 1961 E-Type. The XK features a bonded and riveted aluminium chassis shared with the XJ, a first for a Jaguar grand tourer. The XKR version, offered here, features a 420 hp supercharged 5.0 liter V-8 and has the limited top speed increased to 174 mph (280 km/h).
This particular XKR started life at the Castle Bromwich Assembly plant in Birmingham, England. Destined to be a US market car, it was passed through US customs in Baltimore, MD, and was originally sold by Patrick Jaguar Land Rover in Naperville, IL.
Throughout it’s life, this XKR has been meticulously maintained, with all services performed on-time and documented. Less than 1,000 miles ago, a $2,200 major service was performed by Jaguar Land Rover of North Scottsdale. Needless to say, this car is in excellent condition and ready to be enjoyed.
Cosmetically, we love the black (ebony) livery on black leather. It’s a timeless combination, and gives this car an aggressive yet sophisticated appearance. The paint has maintained it’s depth and shine, showing very little sign of age. The paint is nearly perfect, devoid of any noticeable cracks, scratches, or dents. The front has a clear bra applied to help protect it from chips. The wheels have no curb rash and abrasion, but have a few very small chips from tire rotations, etc. The retractable antenna has a slight bend in it and the drivers seat has slight wear shown, but otherwise the interior is pristine.
Mechanically, this XKR is very solid, having received a clean bill of health from Jaguar Land Rover. The car drives smooth, sounds amazing, and operates as it should. It was however noted that the brake fluid and power steering fluid, while fine today, will likely need to be flushed in the near future. Jaguar also noted the air cabin filter should be changed soon. Jaguar further noted that the AC was running on a low charge (likely from lack of use). However, we found its operation to be just fine during the hot Phoenix Summer.
Overall, this XKR represents a modern classic. With limited production numbers, especially for coupe variants with this color combo, we’ve priced this car aggressively, but firmly. The history, documentation, and exceptional condition of this car will certainly please its next owner (the writer of this listing is rather envious of whomever that may be!).
This XKR can be seen at our Phoenix showroom. For more information, contact Daniel at +1.917.890.4230 or at daniel@classicpromenade.com
