Harry's Thoughts

This is a very nice example that is sure to help make its new caretaker many happy memories!

THE ESSENTIALS

This is an excellent example of the classic C5 Corvette convertible.  Is there a better color combination than triple black?  And this example has been owned and cherished by our friend, Mike Murphy, who is fastidious about detailing his lovely Corvette.

With every oil change Mike has removed the wheels in order to fully detail the wheel wells, inside of the wheels and tires, brake calipers and more!  Mike even attended a Meguire’s Detailing School in order not to miss a trick!

Mike bought this C5 on January 28th, 2006 with a total mileage of 29,200 accumulated.  The Corvette had always been garaged and had been used on weekends only.  It has never been tracked or in any accidents.  It now has 43,600 miles and is in excellent condition.

This example has nearly every example one would desire: Heads Up Display, Selective Ride, Memory Seating, 3.15 gearing, Single CD player.  Upgrades also include very highly desired options including: GHL 3.5” bullet exhausts and X-pipe, Drilled and Slotted Rotors, Painted Calipers (we love that look!), and the Window Valet (allows for remove window roll down and stereo activation).

This is a wonderful opportunity to acquire a nearly as new example of a C5 Convertible.  If you are looking for one this is a great value.  For more details please call Harry at +1.602.245.7200 or email us at harry@classicpromenade.com.

Interesting Fact: The Chevy Corvette has been in production for over 60 years and eight design generations have been created. Executives decided on the name “Corvette” by comparing it to the small maneuverable warship. This vehicle is also widely known as “America’s Sports Car” and is one of the most popular vehicles in history. This vehicle has always been offered in either a 2-door coupé or convertible. Over the years, different engines have been used ranging from 5.7-liter LT1 V8’s to 6.2-litre LT5 supercharged V8’s. Today, the standard Chevy Corvette uses a 6.2-liter naturally aspirated V8 that gives the car 495 horsepower and a 0 to 60 acceleration of just 2.8 seconds. Notable variants of the base Chevy Corvette have been produced over the years, such as the Stingray and Z06. In the early 1970s, GM president Ed Cole was convinced to provide three NASA astronauts with new Corvettes, and this led to a long-standing unofficial tie between the companies. The Chevy Corvette is still one of the highest-performing vehicles in production and is a dream car for many!
