From the Driver’s Seat - Our team’s personal take on what makes this classic stand out
THE ESSENTIALS
The 1997 Ferrari F355 Spider represents the last era of Ferrari’s analog, high-revving V8 sports cars, offering an unmistakable Pininfarina silhouette, a gated six-speed manual, and the open-air experience that defines the model. The Ferrari combines its factory Rosso Corsa finish with 18-inch magnesium wheels and a well-maintained mechanical history, making this example ideal for exotic enthusiasts and collectors of modern classics. With approximately 43,180 miles, clean Carfax, clean inspection and documented regular servicing and maintenance, the Ferrari presents as a strong and highly collectable driver.
The exterior is in excellent overall condition. The Ferrari is finished in Rosso Corsa (322) that is in very good condition with some small imperfections in the front from normal use. The pop-up headlights, integrated fog lights, rear decklid spoiler, quad exhaust, vented engine cover, and sculpted side air intakes all present in excellent condition. The 18-inch five-spoke magnesium wheels are mounted with newer Continental SportPlus tires, and Ferrari-branded calipers sit over ventilated disc brakes. The power-operated black soft top does not work (parts are included for the new owner) and can be used manually. The design elements are beautiful and make the F355 one of the most celebrated Ferraris of its era.
The interior presents in great overall condition. The Ferrari is upholstered in Tan Connolly leather in excellent overall condition, with the material extending across the sport seats, console, and lower dash. The gated shifter, drilled aluminum pedals, and clean gauge layout emphasize the analog driving environment. Amenities include automatic climate control, an Alpine head unit with CD changer, and an Audison amplifier. There are minor cosmetic imperfections from normal wear and age.
Power comes from the mid-mounted 3.5-liter DOHC V8 with five valves per cylinder, factory-rated at 375 hp and 268 lb-ft of torque. The engine features dry-sump lubrication and is paired to a six-speed manual transaxle with a limited-slip differential. This F355 Spider underwent a comprehensive engine-out service in 2007 at 23,860 miles which included timing belts, full clutch, valve and gasket work, belts, fluids, filter. The F355 Spider offers strong performance, excellent throttle response, and the unmistakable sound that defines the model.
The Ferrari comes with owner’s manual, a tool kit, a clean Carfax report, clean inspection report, parts for the convertible soft top and extra floor mats.
