Harry's Thoughts
THE ESSENTIALS
PRICE REDUCED! This is a very nice example of a low mileage California and Nevada owned 1993 Bentley Brooklands. Having accumulated just 31,500 miles, this Brooklands is in overall excellent original condition. She is ready to enjoy for weekend tours, RROC and BDC events or as a classic daily driver.
Sold new by Rolls-Royce of Beverly Hills on November 30th, 1994, this Bentley was enjoyed until 1999 by RROC member Nancy Nicola in Los Alamitos. The MSRP when new was $139,739. For many years, this Brooklands had been serviced by Tobin Motors, the Rolls-Royce dealer in Las Vegas. It has spent its life in the dry climates of California and Nevada and has been used on a regular limited basis from new.
The livery is in Black (Paint No. 9520091) with its original maroon double-striped coachlines, specified as one stripe thick and one thin. The original paint and coachstripe are in excellent condition today, appearing much as when new. The black paint has incredible depth and shine. There is one small (about one inch long) scratch on the passenger side fender as shown in the photo gallery and a couple of very small edges where the paint has burned through, otherwise it is nearly perfect. It is incredible that the original coachstripe is in such remarkably nice condition today, 28 years later. The addition of a Flying B mascot is a nice touch and compliments the green B badges as fitted from the factory and specified in its build sheets. The Brooklands has its original Bentley B alloy wheels with a complete set of new radials.
The interior is in overall excellent original condition as well, with black hides contrasted nicely with maroon piping. The black hides are nearly perfect and the only real area of wear is on the drivers seat where the maroon piping has been worn through (as shown in the photo gallery). Overall, the leather is in excellent condition and will continue to provide a beautiful environment for its passengers for decades to come. The burled walnut is featured throughout the interior and is in very nice condition. There is no fading, however there are a few cracks in the veneer in the normal areas that are visible upon close inspection (which is our responsibility to you to point out). Overall, the wood is in great shape. The black carpets and carpet overlays are contrasted with maroon leather binding. They are in very good to excellent condition, supporting the 31,000 miles of careful use. The front and back carpets have a complete set of black mouton (sheepskin) overlays that are as-new. These were originally specified and are included in the original build sheets. For the rear passengers, there are the two auxiliary foot rests, also in the black carpet with maroon leather binding. This Brooklands was also ordered with the optional black leather headliner.
The engine compartment is in concours quality condition. It is beautiful. The Brooklands provide a nice overall driving experience. Normally aspirated, the venerable 6.75 liter V8 provides 222 hp and about 400 ft. lbs. of torque, capable of propelling the Brooklands up to 127 mph. All of the instrumentation works as it should and the 158-point inspection report is available on our website listing page. The only shortcomings are that several of its tools are missing from its toolkit and that the original owners manuals are not with this car.
