Harry's Thoughts
THE ESSENTIALS
This 1991 Ferrari Testarossa was delivered new to Classic Italia, Inc. of Richardson, Texas and acquired by the selling dealer earlier this year. The car has reportedly spent its life in climate-controlled storage and is finished in Rosso Corsa over a tan leather interior. Power is supplied by a 4.9-liter flat-12 paired with a five-speed manual transaxle. An engine-out service that included a timing belt change and cam seal replacement was performed in 2016 at 18,316 miles. This Testarossa now shows 20,000 miles and is being offered with a toolkit, service records, owner’s manuals, two keys, a clean Carfax report, and a clean Arizona title.
The Pininfarina-designed bodywork is finished in Rosso Corsa and features side strakes, fog lamps, retractable headlights, and body-colored side-view mirrors. The recent Carfax report shows no accidents or other damage.
The car rides on factory 16″ five-spoke wheels wrapped in BFGoodrich g-Force Sport tires that were recently installed by the selling dealer and measure 225/50 up front and 255/50 out back. Some photos in the gallery show the car on previously-fitted Dunlop rubber. Stopping power is provided by discs at all four corners.
The seats and door panels are trimmed in tan Connolly leather with matching carpets, while the dashboard, center console, and arm rests are upholstered in brown. Features include power windows and a gated shifter with a dogleg five-speed pattern. A replacement air conditioning compressor was installed in July 2020, and the seller reports that a replacement expansion valve for the climate control system is in the process of being installed.
A leather-wrapped Momo steering wheel features a prancing horse horn button and frames instrumentation including a 200-mph speedometer, a 10k-rpm tachometer, and gauges for coolant temperature and oil pressure. The 4.9-liter flat-12 features 48 valves, Marelli Microplex ignition control, and Bosch KE-Jetronic fuel injection for a factory-rated output of 390 horsepower at 6,300 rpm with 361 lb-ft of torque at 4,500 rpm. The timing belt was replaced during an engine-out service performed by Ferrari of North Scottsdale, Arizona in 2016 at 18,316 miles, and the five-speed manual transaxle received a fluid change at this time. This has just received an annual service and is ready to enjoy!
The August 2020 Carfax report shows no accidents or other damage and displays history in Indiana, Florida, Illinois, Wisconsin, New Jersey, Colorado, and Arizona through the most recent entry in July 2020.
