Harry's Thoughts

This is a very nice example that is sure to help make its new caretaker many happy memories!

THE ESSENTIALS

This is a nice original Southern California car that runs and drives great. Unmolested Alfa in great running condition. Rare and nice looking combination of white exterior with burgundy seats and a black top.  As with all Series 2 Spiders, this has the 2 liter 5 speed manual transmission with the SPICA mechanical fuel injection.  I have used this as a daily driver for several months and it has been a joy to drive!

Very nice condition inside and out with only the benefit from a nice repaint in the original color.  The body is in good condition with a very small amount of superficial rust in the passengers front fender behind the wheel opening.

Interior is in very good condition with no rips or other seat issues. The carpet is original and very luxurious for a sports car.  We have re-dyed the carpet to the original color making it very stunning.  We have added coco mats and a dash pad as well.  The AM/FM CD player sounds terrific with the top up or down.

Convertible top is in excellent condition, almost like new and correct to the car. The rear window plastic is clear and has no blemishes.

The rebuilt Spica fuel injection is working well with no leaks. The car starts and runs and drives like the classic Italian sports car that it is. This is a great car to hop in and enjoy cruising the open road. These cars are becoming harder to find in clean unmolested condition, especially Southern California cars.

Interesting Fact: The original Alfa Romeo Spider is a two-seater sports car that was comprised of two series: the 105 and 115. This vehicle was the successor to the Alfa Romeo Giulia Spider and was produced from 1966 to 1994.   At the 36th Geneva Motor Show, the Spider was released with an inline four-cylinder engine that produced 108 horsepower. Five-speed and three-speed transmissions were attached over the years which gave the vehicle a high variability depending on the model chosen. In 1993, production on the original Spider ended and a new variant was released a year later.   This newer model had a much shorter production period that only spanned about 10 years. During that time, only 39,000 Spiders were built, but this car was still a popular one among the car collectors’ community and is an esteemed choice for any sports car lover!
