THE ESSENTIALS

SOLD to Oklahoma!! This is a lovely 1975 Rolls-Royce Silver Shadow that has enjoyed three Arizona owners since new and has been garaged and well cared for all its life. The last owner for the past 24 years was a career engineer with the Rolls Royce Engine Division in North America. He generally performed the basic maintenance and service repairs with the occasional assistance of a Rolls-Royce specialty mechanic for more specialized repairs. This Silver Shadow has been wonderfully cared for and is without the normal gremlins found on most Silver Shadows. We love the rarity of the factory electric sunroof.

This Silver Shadow was bought new from Max of Switzerland in Scottsdale, AZ. The owner of Max of Switzerland is a good client of ours. It was ordered in Acrylic White (L67-WV-004) with Mushroom leather. The present owner is a long time RROC member and purchased the Rolls in 1996 from the second owner having accumulated 42,900 miles since new.

Since under the ownership of its previous owner, the Silver Shadow was repainted in Cadillac Diamond White paint to match a Cadillac he once owned. Everything else on this Silver Shadow is original and in overall nice condition. There are no dents or scratches and the chrome and stainless are in very good condition. The white livery is complimented by two black coach stripes. The windows have been tinted and the tinting is in very good condition.

The Mushroom leather (VM 3116) has been well cared for being very soft and supple. The drivers seat bottom bolster has some spitting from use over the years. The balance of the leather is in very nice condition. The mushroom carpets are in very nice condition and the interior overall shows quite well. The Italian Walnut wood is all original and looks stunningly nice. It is not discolored, milky or cracked. This has never been refinished and is in remarkable condition.

Mechanically, all the systems work very well. We completed our comprehensive inspection and found nothing that the car needs. Even the cruise control and clock work well. The original 8 track player operates perfectly and the Rolls comes with a cassette adapter for use in the 8 track player. All the suspension, air conditioning, brakes, and other systems have been rebuilt as necessary and operate very well.

The Rolls has been awarded many trophies in the past, including:
2nd Place at the RROC Annual Meeting in Monterey in 2004
1st Place at the RROC Annual Meeting in San Antonio in 2013

The Rolls comes complete with its books, the cassette adapter and various other items.

Interesting Fact: The Rolls-Royce Silver Shadow is a full-sized luxury car produced by British automaker Rolls-Royce in various forms from 1965 to 1980. It was the first of the marque to use unitary body and chassis construction. The Silver Shadow II was produced from 1977 to 1980. To date, the combined model run (Silver Shadow I + Silver Shadow II) has the largest production volume of any Rolls-Royce.   In 1977, the model was renamed the Silver Shadow II in recognition of several major changes, most notably rack and pinion steering; modifications to the front suspension improved handling markedly. Externally, the bumpers were changed from chrome to alloy and rubber starting with the late 1976 Silver Shadows. These new energy-absorbing bumpers had been used in the United States since 1974, as a response to tightening safety standards there. Nonetheless, the bumpers on cars sold outside of North America were still solidly mounted and protruded 2 in (5 cm) less. Also now made standard across the board was the deletion of the small grilles mounted beneath the headlamps. Outside of North America, where tall curbs and the like demanded more ground clearance, a front skirt was also fitted to the Silver Shadow II and its sister cars.   In 1979, 75 Silver Shadow II cars were specially fitted to commemorate the 75th anniversary of the company with the original red "RR" badges front and rear, pewter/silver paint, grey leather with red piping, scarlet red carpets, and a silver commemorative placard on the inside of the glove box door. Approximately 33 75th anniversary cars were designated for and shipped to the North American market, making this an extremely rare find for collectors around the world!
