1971 Chevy Camaro Z28

Matching Numbers

Harry's Thoughts

This is a very nice example that is sure to help make its new caretaker many happy memories!

SALE Pending to Indiana!! This is a 1971 Chevy Camaro Z28 with a thorough ground-up restoration meant to drive and enjoy, or take to your local car events! Now you can own a piece of vehicle history. This is a real Z28 with matching numbers (date coded correct) major components including the engine. It has then been enhanced to improve performance and safety.

The original option package included an LT1 330 hp 350 cid engine, a Muncie M21 close ratio 4-speed manual transmission, a Posi-traction rear end, dual exhaust, rear spoiler, dual sport mirrors, bucket seats, a center console, cloaked in Cottonwood Green (Paint Code 42). All of these parts have been retained to make this vehicle a particularly unique numbers matching example. All the best of this original Z28 has been retained and then enhanced with the best of modern innovation. This is done without compromising essence of what the original designers intended.

After many years of service, the vehicle was found in Homestead, Florida. In 2006, a frame off restoration was started. The painstaking process included reviewing every part to determine what would remain and what was to be replaced. This is what was decided….

The Chevrolet Camaro is a mid-size American automobile manufactured by Chevrolet, classified as a pony car and also as a muscle car with some versions. It first went on sale on September 29, 1966, for the 1967 model year and was designed as a competing model to the Ford Mustang. The Camaro shared its platform and major components with the Pontiac Firebird, also introduced for 1967. Four distinct generations of the Camaro were developed before production ended in 2002. The nameplate was revived on a concept car that evolved into the fifth-generation Camaro; production started on March 16, 2009. Over 5 million Camaros have been sold.
