Harry's Thoughts

This is a very nice example that is sure to help make its new caretaker many happy memories!

THE ESSENTIALS

This is a restored Chevy Chevelle Malibu that is ready for daily use or car shows.  While certainly not concours, this is a terrific value and a blast to drive!!  It has a fully built 400 cu in engine that delivers about 450 hp.

The engine is from a 1971 through 1975 that was fully professionally rebuilt by a master builder.  It is fully balanced, with all new components and a dual quad Edelbrock intake manifold and dual Edelbrock 600 carbs.  It has an electric fuel pump, electric thermostat and aluminum radiator with a B&M Quicksilver rapid shifter.  It has a 373 mini-spool rear end and a 350 transmission with a 2800 stall converter.  The front end has power disc brakes with a CPP quick steering ratio steering box.

The frame shows no history of accidents and there are no signs of rust anywhere.  This Chevelle has less than 200 miles since the total rebuild.

We do not know all the history of this car and therefore do not know for sure the total mileage, but the drivetrain is fully rebuilt.  More details coming soon.  For more information please call Hal at 951-440-0412.

Interesting Fact: The Chevy Chevelle was in production from 1963 to 1977. This mid-sized car had three generations over those 14 years, before finally being succeeded by the Chevy Malibu; a car that is still around today.   The first generation of the Chevelle lasted until 1967 and came in virtually every model one could imagine. One of the most powerful engines that is in some Chevelle’s is a 6.5-liter Big-Block V8 engine. However, this wasn’t good enough for Chevy, so they released a Chevelle SS to get their foot in the door of muscle cars.   As the second generation emerged, the Chevelle design seemed to take more after the SS variant rather than the base. Aerodynamic builds and a low-profile design helped buyers to know what they were considering purchasing. One unique feature of the Chevelle is that it was advertised as America’s most popular mid-size car. Even though the Chevelle was replaced by the downsized Malibu, this model paved the way for Chevy race cars and future sport models. Due to this, many seek out the Chevelle in an attempt to purchase one and add it to their garage!
