Harry's Thoughts

This is a very nice example that is sure to help make its new caretaker many happy memories!

THE ESSENTIALS

SOLD to Arkansas!!! Documented with nearly 50 years of receipts and ownership records, this is a gorgeous 1967 Chevrolet Corvette L79 Coupe, with all numbers matching engine and components. We love the bolt-on Rally Wheels and the side exhaust pipes. And it is in one of the very rarest color combinations!

A note from the owner in 1990 stated that the factory tank sticker is still on the gas tank and included the following options:

– 350 hp 327 ci
– 4-speed transmission
– side exhaust
– tinted glass
– 3.70:1 positraction
– AM-FM radio

In 1990, the new owner added the factory bolt-on aluminum wheels. Further, all the numbers match (or date coded correctly) including the engine, carburetor, distributor, expansion tank, alternator, radiator, exhaust manifold and water pump. This Corvette is also documented in the Nolan Adams restoration book.

We love cars like this that have been collector owned since it was a new car. Look closely at the gallery photos. This is largely an original, low mileage survivor with one repaint from 1990. The Marlboro Maroon poly paint looks stunning and we have all the documents and photos covering the repaint in the original color dating back 30 years ago. The paint is in overall very good condition with only a few areas showing some age. It was very well done including ten coats of hand rubbed paint. There are no signs of the car ever having damage or rust.

The interior is nearly all original in the rare Saddle vinyl that is in exceptional condition today. The carpets may have been replaced because they look so perfect! The drivers seat has a seem that has come loose and we believe it can easily be repaired. The chrome is also very good. The engine compartment is nicely detailed as is the chassis.

HISTORY OF THIS CORVETTE
This Corvette had a list price of $4,735. It was believed to have been bought new by Ben Lacy in Worley, Idaho. On May 30, 1972, Mr. Lacy sold it to Tek Kee of Spokane, WA. Six years later, the Corvette was sold to Noel Kurkoski of Billings, MT. In March 6th, 1990 the Corvette was sold to John and Beverly Dyck of Winnapeg, Manitoba, Canada where it remained for the next three decades. John Dyck was the President of the Corvette Club of Manitoba and actively used and showed the car. In 2003, the Corvette was sold to Dan and Debbie Shaw, also of Manitoba. Who enjoyed the Corvette until we bought the car.

We have this Corvette priced to sell. The Hagerty Price Guide has the No 2 value at $87,000, plus $16,000 in add-on features. The No 3 value is $62,400, plus the $16,000 in add-ons. This Corvette is easily a 2- as it is a wonderful, documented low-mileage survivor with one repaint.

The car comes with a huge binder of receipts, photos and ownership history as well as a car cover. This is an incredible chance to acquire a low mileage rust and accident free survivor. Interesting Fact: The Chevy Corvette has been in production for over 60 years and eight design generations have been created. Executives decided on the name “Corvette” by comparing it to the small maneuverable warship. This vehicle is also widely known as “America’s Sports Car” and is one of the most popular vehicles in history. This vehicle has always been offered in either a 2-door coupé or convertible. Over the years, different engines have been used ranging from 5.7-liter LT1 V8’s to 6.2-litre LT5 supercharged V8’s. Today, the standard Chevy Corvette uses a 6.2-liter naturally aspirated V8 that gives the car 495 horsepower and a 0 to 60 acceleration of just 2.8 seconds. Notable variants of the base Chevy Corvette have been produced over the years, such as the Stingray and Z06. In the early 1970s, GM president Ed Cole was convinced to provide three NASA astronauts with new Corvettes, and this led to a long-standing unofficial tie between the companies. The Chevy Corvette is still one of the highest-performing vehicles in production and is a dream car for many!
