THE ESSENTIALS
This is a very nice 1966 Porsche 912 Coupe that is a great classic driver. Being a low mileage example that is without most of the common rust issues, this is a terrific car to enjoy as is or improve over time.
This 1966 Porsche 912 coupe was acquired by the current owner in 2013 and is powered by a 1.6-liter flat-four paired with a four-speed manual transaxle. The car is finished in red over beige leatherette and equipped with 15″ Fuchs forged alloy wheels, four-wheel disc brakes, bright bumper guards, bucket seats, lap and shoulder belts, and a heater. Work in 2023 included rebuilding the Solex carburetors and replacing the shift linkage components, while a new battery was installed and the carburetors were serviced in May 2025.
This was from Colorado and acquired by its present Arizona owner 13 years ago. It has received regular service but has been a faithful and dependable weekend driver having accumulated about 71,000 miles.
Originally this was Sand Beige and was repainted in red under prior ownership. Exterior features include bright bumpers with guards, bright windshield wipers, a retractable antenna, and a single exhaust outlet. There are spots of rust and various paint blemishes around the body, close-up photos of which are provided in the gallery.
The 15″ Fuchs forged alloy wheels are mounted with 195/60R15 Falken Touring tires. The car is equipped with an independent front and rear suspension, and stopping power is provided by disc brakes at all four corners.
The 2+2 cabin features front bucket seats and rear jump seats trimmed in beige leatherette, complemented by color-coordinated door panels and carpets. A JVC CD player and aftermarket speakers are installed. The seller notes the interior shows general wear.
The four-spoke steering wheel sits ahead of green-script VDO instrumentation including a centrally mounted 7k-rpm tachometer, a 120-mph speedometer, and a combination gauge for fuel level and oil temperature. The five-digit odometer shows approximately 72k miles, about 4,500 of which were added under current ownership.
The 1.6-liter flat-four was factory rated at 90 horsepower and is equipped with dual Solex carburetors. In May 2023, the carburetors were rebuilt, the fuel lines were replaced, the valves were adjusted, and an oil change was performed. Service in May 2025 included replacing the battery, cleaning the idle jets, and setting the carburetors. Power is sent to the rear wheels through a four-speed manual transaxle. The shift coupler and bushings were replaced in May 2023.
This Porsche comes complete with its service invoices from the past 13 years, its tool kit, owner’s manual and factory Certificate of Authenticity.
