THE ESSENTIALS
SOLD to South Carolina!! We’ve priced this for a quick sale! This is a rust free, accident free and great driving 1964 Chevy Corvair Spyder coupe. We love the Azure Aqua exterior paint with the Black interior. This is one of only 6,480 Spyder coupes produced in 1964.
It’s hard to find totally rust free examples of the Spyders. This Corvair spent its life in New Mexico. This has no bondo anywhere around the car (we used our bondo detector to verify what we otherwise saw). It has never had rust nor been in an accident.
The paint is an older poorer quality repaint in the original Azure Aqua color. While the present paint is acceptable as a touring car or driver, we would love to see this brought up to a higher standard. A repaint would transform this motorcar as the original black interior is in very nice condition. Since neither rust nor accident history is an issue with this example, a repaint would be straightforward, inexpensive and make it look fantastic. We also love the original upgraded spoke wheel covers that look straight out of a James Bond movie!
The interior is the original vinyl and it is in very nice condition. The upgraded instrumentation and special wood styled two spoke sport steering wheel enhance the interior.
The heart and soul of a Corvair Spyder is the turbocharged six-cylinder engine. The 164 cu in engine was new for 1964, and the turbocharged Spyder delivered 150 HP and excellent economy. The four speed manual transmission make it an excellent car to drive and enjoy! 1964 also saw suspension improvements, including anti-sway bars and upgraded suspensions front and rear.
With only 96,000 original miles, this is an excellent car to use as a collectible yet derivable classic! For more information and details, call Harry Clark at +1.602.245.7200 or email us at harry@classicpromenade.com.
