Harry's Thoughts

This is a very nice example that is sure to help make its new caretaker many happy memories!

THE ESSENTIALS

This is a rare car indeed.  According to the prior owner, this has a 409 cu in V8 that has been fully rebuilt.  This motorcar is very original and un-restored, with the original interior and it has been repainted once.  It has fully rebuilt drum brakes and major components.

It does have some minor rust showing through on the rockers but overall it is very solid and a great car to complete the restoration while enjoying it at car shows and tours.   We ran the Filler Detective over the entire car and found absolutely no bondo or filler.  There is nothing “hidden” which is great news!!

We do not know the detailed history of this motorcar so although the drivetrain is fully rebuilt we do not know the overall mileage.  Looking at the wear it would appear to be at most 145,000 total miles.

The NADA value guide shows the high retail value at $37,100.  We are offering this motorcar at a huge savings.  See details online at: http://www.nadaguides.com/Classic-Cars/1961/Chevrolet/Impala/2-Door-Hardtop-Sport-Coupe/Values

Interesting Fact: The Chevy Impala is one of the company’s longest lasting vehicles, having been in production since 1957 and continuing to today. This full-size car is known to be Chevrolet’s flagship passenger car and is one of the best-selling automobiles in the entire United States.   Back in 1957, the Chevy Impala was released as a top of the line Chevy Bel Air that had a longer wheelbase and unique tailfins. In this first year, the long-standing popularity of the Impala became clear as 55,989 convertibles and 125,480 coupes were built. This model was instrumental in helping Chevrolet get back to a high-up spot on the automakers list following a recession.   As the Chevy Impala developed over the years, emphasis was placed on comfort for the driver and passenger, rather than focusing on developing a higher-performance engine to be used in the car. The original Chevy Impala is a classic, partially because it looks nothing like its modern rendition!
