THE ESSENTIALS

Here is a drop dead gorgeous, Survivor, 1959 Cadillac Series Sixty Special Fleetwood 4-Dr HT that is one of a total production of only 2,250 cars!  No single automotive design better characterizes the industry’s late-1950’s flamboyance than the 1959 Cadillac, which incorporated totally new styling and those FINS!

The ’59 Fleetwood incorporated special one year only and one model only, side trim panels and moldings that set it apart from any other car on the road and it looks Fabulous!  If you like the most popular color “Dover White” and you like to stand out in a crowd, this is the car for you!

Believed to be 61,563 original miles and recently purchased out of the estate of a gentleman who bought the car when it was less than a year old and kept it garaged and babied it its’ entire life and now it is ready for someone else to enjoy!

The Data Trim Tag reads as follows:     STYLE 59-6029         BODY  FW 5827         TRIM  60          PAINT  12          ACC.  EHKY           Body By Fleetwood

The VIN is:   59M051809

Odometer Reading:  61,563 (believed to be original)

The body is absolutely gorgeous and is as rock solid and rust free as you would expect a garaged and pampered car to be!  All the sheet metal appears to be original to this car and there is no sign of any prior accident history.  In the interest of full disclosure, it appears to have had a small repair at the lower rear corner of the rear quarter panels and there are a couple small spots in the rear of the trunk floor, but these in no way should affect the value and desirability of this classic Cadillac!  The underside is basically untouched original and while it has never been detailed for show, it is driver quality and what you see is what you’ve got!

This is absolutely a 99.9% rust free body!  There are no patches or replaced panels and no attempts to hide or cover anything up.   The body is straight as an arrow and all the body lines and gaps are even and in alignment!

The original color is probably the most popular; Dover White and it has had just one repaint since new.  It was a very nice paint job that was color sanded, buffed and polished to a high luster!  There is an occasional stone chip or door nick and a scuff on the right rocker panel, all associated with a car that has been driven and enjoyed!  The chrome bumpers and all the chrome and stainless trim are in beautiful original condition with high gloss and shine and minimal scuffs or marks.

The glass is all in nice condition with a few small stone chips on the windshield and one vent window.  The hubcaps are the proper and correct Eldorado hubcaps and they are in exceptionally sharp to beautiful condition!  The grills are clean and shiny and are in very sharp condition.  It still has all four original T-3 headlight bulbs still in place!   Upon close inspection, this car definitely has all the appearances of a garaged, pampered and properly cared for car its’ entire life!

The interior of this Classy Caddy is in virtually untouched original condition and still looks gorgeous for it’s age.  In fact, the car has had seat covers on it since new and they were just recently removed to reveal exceptionally beautiful original White leather and Black with Silver thread, fabric seats!  The foam in the rear seat cushions is still soft and cushy like the day it was built!  There is only one split in the bead on the driver’s bottom cushion.

The dash pad is original and other than a slight distortion in the pad, it is in exceptional condition!  The door panels and headliner are original and in very good condition with only a little fading.  The carpeting has a few small wear spots but still looks very sharp. The rear window package tray is in beautiful original condition!  The gauges are clean and bright and appear to work as they should.  The clock and horn need repair and I’ve never tried the Autronic Eye.   The cruise control is in place but not hooked up.  The power windows all work great as do the power vent windows and the power seat although one switch on the seat is acting up.

The air conditioning system is still intact and the belt is in place, indicating probably only a need for a shot of freon to make it all functional again!  I was told that the AC system was working just a few years ago.   The steering wheel is very nice and the horn ring is in perfect condition!  All the interior chrome is exceptional!  This is a super sharp original interior!  The trunk area has it’s original lining in addition to the added carpeting and it would definitely benefit from a new trunk liner eventually.

Mechanically, this is an exceptional running and driving car and it is a Blast to drive!  While I don’t know much about its’ specific history, it appears to have been well maintained and the engine runs smooth and quiet and has a lot of power.  The transmission shifts as it should and the dual exhaust system is in good condition .  The brakes stop fine and the rear end is quiet.  The tires are brand new L78x15 Wide White Wall tires.   This Cadillac is truly a pleasure to drive and should be able to be driven any place you want to go!  The odometer shows 61,563 and we believe this to be actual miles as stated on the title.

50’s and 60’s Cadillacs are some of the fastest appreciating and most desirable collector cars in the market today and the 1959 Cadillac with it’s distinctive and flamboyant fins is generally considered to be the Best of the Best!   The ‘Holy Grail” of Cadillacs!  It has great options!  It is in wonderful original condition!  It is a Great color combination and is ready for your summertime cruising enjoyment!  Email or call with any questions you might have and I can help with shipping quotes and arrangements.

Interesting Fact: The Cadillac Fleetwood was manufactured from 1976 to 1996 and is a luxury four-door vehicle. For the first couple of years, the Fleetwood was a rear wheel drive, but it transitioned to a front-wheel drive through 1992.   On the first generation of the Fleetwood, a powerful 4.9-liter V8 engine was the strongest option available to potential buyers. This helped to increase the power output to 200 horsepower, making this an extremely reliable car historically. As time went on, a more powerful 5.7-liter engine was used to bump the performance up to 260 horsepower.   This model was by no means a sports car, but the Fleetwood provided a comfortable, yet powerful ride. From 1993 to 1996, the Fleetwood saw more success than other years, with over 90,000 units being produced during that time. Overall, the Fleetwood is not a flashy car by any means, but the quality of production makes it one of the desired classics car collectors look for!
