We are proud to offer this 45,000 mile AACA Senior First Winning Packard Phaeton.  This is body number “one” that was delivered new to Mountain Motors in Denver, CO and was undoubtedly used as a window decoration.  This was as flashy as it got in 1935!!  Mountain Motors also added the twin Buell Trumpet airhorns that still adorn this incredible motorcar.

It was bought in July of 1935 by a well know proprietor of a Denver Italian restaurant that was also regarded as an opera aficionado.  He was well known for having the most flashy and upscale motorcars available at that time.

Well, he kept this Packard until about 1968 when it made its way into the hands of Fred “Buzz” Huntington.  Buzz was the owner of RCBS, a renowned company related to the firearms industry.  Buzz bought the car with a total accumulated mileage of about 32,000 and proceeded to repaint and upholster the Packard for show purposes.  In 1978 the Packard was awarded the prestigious AACA Senior First, the award still adorns the car.

In about 2000, the Packard was bought by Bill Burchett of Brea, Ca with the total mileage amassed reading about 35,000.  Mr. Burchett is a dear friend and has been active as a judge at Pebble Beach and other concours events since the 1960’s.  He has been an active Classic Car Club of America CARavan participant in nearly every CARavan ever held.  In fact, this 1935 Phaeton has been to Alaska, Montana, New England, New Mexico and Arizona on CCCA CARavans which has lead to its present mileage of about 45,000 miles since new.

No one knows for sure how many 1935 Phaetons were made; we know that the total count is about 22.  We know that this is one of an even smaller number known to exist.  This is a spectacular combination of original and older restoration and is both an award winning specimen as well as a multiple tour veteran.  Could it get much better than this?  If you are a serious collector this is a motorcar to consider.
