THE ESSENTIALS

SOLD via Private treaty!! This is a drop-dead gorgeous true California-from-new 1934 Ford five window coupe with all original Henry Ford steel body panels. This is a seriously competitive resto-rod that was built by a client of ours that has built each of his cars to perfection- for touring and concours quality show potential. This no expense spared restoration and impeccable build quality makes this a no-excuses purchase.

This has it all. This all Henry Ford steel body rests on a new TCI chassis with the straight axle front end and fastidiously engineered and precise rack and pinion steering. The engine is a completely rebuilt 1965 Chevrolet 327 cu. In. 300 hp V-8 with a 350 Turbo Hydromatic transmission with the final drive completed through a 9 inch rear end. The restoration is detailed with photos, showing pride of craftsmanship.

This was built for long cruises with the upmost in comfort in mind. The interior is finished in breathtaking Le Barron & Bonny “correct 34” upholstery. The craftsmanship far exceeds that of the original Michigan production.

It has beautifully engineered air conditioning and heating systems that use some of the original dash components to operate. We encourage you to look closely at the photos to understand the fantastic build quality of this Coupe. The wood grained dash is spectacular with Stewart Warner “wings” gauges!

The livery is presented in single stage burgundy using PPG paint. The 15-inch Kelsey Hays style wheels are powder-coated in a beautifully contrasted cream. The rear mounted spare was a custom adaptation that we think looks spectacular.

Norm Petrucci, our long-time client and the owner-builder of this Coupe, first bought this as an all-original, rust free California “black plate” car about 25 years ago. He bought the car in Corona, California still presented with the original flat-head V-8. The original car was in impressive condition with an incredibly nice body. Norm had retained us to sell the car about six years ago. Norm has since passed. The existing owner is now having health challenges and has delivered the car to us to sell. In his words, “this is the best car that I’ve bought”, and he has quite a nice collection of cars.

It is rare to find an all Henry Ford steel 1934 five window coupe. Even rarer is to find one that was meticulously engineered to be a fantastic touring car as well as benefited from concours quality finishes in every regard. If you are seriously looking for a coupe, this is the one to buy. For more details email us at harry@classicpromenade.com or call or text us at +1.602.245.7200. It is available for inspection in our Phoenix, AZ showroom.

Interesting Fact: The Ford Custom was produced in three countries during 1949 to 1955, 1957 to 1959, and 1964 to 1981. It was featured in the famous film Psycho where it was removed from a swamp after being submerged.   As for the car itself, the Ford Custom was a part of the completely new redesigns that Ford released following World War II. Standard models of the Ford Custom used a small-block V8 engine that allowed for 351 horsepower, but law enforcement was able to use a more powerful V8 engine that allowed the Custom to utilize 425 horsepower. All in all, approximately 7,850,000 Fords were sold during the course of production which makes this the 10th best-selling automobile platform in history. The Ford Custom is an iconic and powerful car that has been trusted for many years. Its popular reputation and appearance in mainstream media still fuel its popularity today as one of the most desired cars for collectors!
