THE ESSENTIALS

This 1933 Cadillac 355-C Convertible Coupe presents with a red exterior and caramel interior that is in overall excellent condition! The Cadillac has a 353ci V8 paired with a three-speed manual transmission and starts and drives well! The Cadillac features coach doors, rumble seat, golf club compartment and many stylish accents that makes this a standout classic. With its V-shaped radiator grille, six horizontal hood doors, individually controlled ventilation, and vacuum-assisted braking system, the Cadillac presents as an outstanding candidate for regional concours display, historic driving events, and curated private collections.

Originally manufactured by Cadillac Motor Car Co. in Detroit under Job No. 33-8-163 and Body No. 6, this Series 355-C spent its earlier life with its original drivetrain before receiving a comprehensive refurbishment in 2007, including a repaint, interior refresh, and a rebuild of the replacement 353ci L-head V8. The 1933 Cadillac Series 355-C Convertible Coupe represents one of the most stylistically significant milestones in early GM design, benefiting from the newly introduced streamlined aesthetic created under Harley Earl’s Art & Color Studio. The 355C is recognized as a CCCA full classic and would be a great pre-war car for showing and touring! This Cadillac is a former Cadillac LaSalle Club Grand National First Place winner and Cadillac LaSalle Club People’s Choice Best of Show Award in 2006. The Cadillac was acquired by the current owner in 2020, spending time in Canada, California and Arizona. The five-digit odometer, likely reset during the 2007 restoration, now shows 6,870 miles.

The exterior of the 1933 Cadillac displays a high-gloss red repaint from 2007, paired with a tan folding convertible top. The red paint with tan pinstriping and tan accents is in overall excellent condition and the chrome work throughout is in overall excellent condition. Key features include Heron mascot, large V-shaped grille, headlights, horns, parking lamps, dual side mounts with matching painted metal covers and etched Cadillac mirrors, matching red painted luggage trunk, rumble seat with fender mounted steps, and golf club compartment. The Cadillac has running boards with black rubber covers that are in good condition and wire-spoke 17-inch wheels finished in beige with red accents that are fitted with Denman whitewall tires. This Cadillac is beautiful convertible that is in overall excellent condition and ready to be enjoyed!

Inside, the Cadillac offers a Caramel leather interior refurbished in 2007 with matching door panels, tan carpeting, and wood trim across the dash and doors. The instrument panel retains its factory gauges including the 100-mph speedometer, fuel, amperage, temperature, oil pressure, and the ride control indicator. The three-spoke steering wheel retains its lighting and throttle controls and demonstrates the engineering refinements Cadillac implemented in 1933, including the improved wiper motor placement behind the headboard and the optional “No Draft Individually Controlled Ventilation” system. The Cadillac interior is in overall excellent condition!

Powered by a replacement 353ci L-head V8 sourced from a LaSalle and rebuilt in 2007, the Cadillac features the smooth, torque-rich character expected from early 1930s GM engineering. This has Cadillac’s vacuum-assisted drum brakes, adjustable shock absorber damping, and three-speed manual transmission. The engine benefits from a full tune-up in 2024 and a full service completed in January 2026. Work done in early 2026 includes a complete carburetor rebuild with float assembly, replaced and height-calibrated needle/seat, and accelerator pump diaphragm. The fuel delivery system new hose runs from tank to pump complemented by the addition of an electric prime pump with a dash-mounted activation switch and dedicated wiring harness. Further service included a new battery, a new oil sending unit, and fully repaired brake and running light circuits.

The Great Depression and the undercutting effect of LaSalle decimated Cadillac sales for 1932, and just 2,693 355-Bs were built. Cadillac’s venerable 353 cubic-inch L-Head V-8 got a significant power boost for the 1932 model year, jumping from 95 hp to 115 hp. It pairs with a three-speed, all-synchromesh gearbox for effortless, virtually silent progress.
