Harry's Thoughts
THE ESSENTIALS
This is a California car since new that is an older build as a nice custom. This Model A Coupe has a 327 cu in V8 with an automatic transmission. It comes with a huge pile of documentation dating from the 1980’s. This has been enjoyed and loved since it’s build and continually maintained and improved.
This Model A was sold new in California in 1929. In the 1980’s it was converted into a street rod with a built 327 cu in V8. The Coupe is in very nice condition and is ready for local shows and tours. Some details include:
327 V8 built by Team C High Performance (block 3956618, dated 1968/69) bored 60 over, 9:1 compression, 2102 Edelbrock performer cam, balanced, stainless head bolts and Team C Performance heads (No. 3973487 dated 1971/72 350 ci). It has a 2101 Edelbrock Performer manifold, 600 CFM carb, Mallory distributor and wiring, chrome alternator, water and fuel pumps.
The transmission is a 350 Turbo built by Novotny with a 9″ Ford rear end built by Curries with a 3.89 ratio. The frame is boxed, reinforced with added cross members and has a TCI engine perch, shock mounts and supports.
The Model A has Magoos front discs and stainless braided hoses with 10″ rear Curries brake drums. It is upgraded with a 18 gallon stainless steel fuel tank with mechanical and electric fuel pumps. The wheels are made by Wheel Smith and have the classic artillery style and look fantastic to us (the video incorrectly states them as Craiger)!
The body is original Henry Ford steel with fiberglass fenders by Wescott. For a more unique look, the Coupe features a 32 fiberglass radiator shell by Wescott and a stainless grill.
The gauges are VDO and look very cool. Everything works as it should. The Model A is set up for air conditioning but needs the compressor and lines.
