THE ESSENTIALS
1956 T-Bird, “Black Plate” Calif. Car, 61k mi, Show Winner!
This is a fully restored, show winning, 61,000 mile “black plate” California car that has had one previous non-family owner since new. It was bought new by a doctor in San Francisco. There is no doubt that he was attracted to the elegant and rare color combination. The car is painted in the rare Thunderbird Grey (“T” code) paint and complimented with Red and White (“XB” code) interior.
The car has the original and correct factory hardtop, Kelsey Hayes wire wheels, the 312 cu. in. engine, automatic transmission, heater, power windows, power seats and power brakes. It has an aftermarket modern Thunderbird AM/FM cassette player added for practicality.
In 1956 this T-Bird was bought in the San Francisco Bay Area by a doctor. He kept the car for over thirty years and had a professional, no expense spared restoration completed. By 1993, the physician had difficulty driving the car and sold it to the father of the present owner, an experienced car collector who had been acquainted with the doctor. The car had been cared for well by the father of the present owner for several years until his death. The present owner has owned and cared for the car for approximately 17 years.
This T-Bird has traveled 61,000 miles since new and runs and drive beautifully. The car has a very correct and complete older restoration that shows very minor patina. The car was upgraded with front and rear sway bars and wide whitewall radials for better ride and handling.

This is a no-excuse 1956 T-Bird that has an extremely rare color combination. This car can be driven anywhere with the certainty that it has been comprehensively restored after having a mere 61,000 miles since new. This is a very rare opportunity to have a rare and distinguished blackplate California T-Bird. If you like it, don’t miss it. This car absolutely will sell to the highest bidder (regardless of price!) on Saturday, June 26th in Costa Mesa, CA at the Barrett-Jackson auction. Will you be the highest bidder?
