From the Driver’s Seat - Our team’s personal take on what makes this classic stand out
THE ESSENTIALS
The 1960 Cadillac Eldorado Biarritz represents one of the most exclusive open-top American luxury cars of its era, combining a refined evolution of Cadillac’s iconic tailfin design with advanced power features and the 390-cid, 345-horsepower V8. With only 1,280 examples produced, the Eldorado Biarritz is a highly sought-after model for collectors.
Originally restored in the early 1990s, this Eldorado Biarritz was subsequently displayed at the Blackhawk Museum in California before being purchased by the current owner in 2005. This Cadillac was purchased as a birthday gift and “Nelli Bell” has been well loved through the years by the whole family. Over the past two decades, the Cadillac has been carefully serviced, maintained and driven regularly. The Eldorado Biarritz has 60,000 miles, is in strong mechanical condition and is a great fit for enthusiasts who enjoy driving these wonderful Cadillacs.
The exterior of the Eldorado Biarritz is finished in Sienna Rose Metallic that has a smooth and bright presentation. The paint exhibits remarkably consistent lacquer checking that gives it a distinctive, almost deliberate character while still presenting well. The prominent chrome bumpers, bullet-style front and rear grille accents, and Cadillac badging are in overall excellent condition. The iconic 1960 tailfins retain crisp definition with integrated taillights that showcase the design shift from the 1959 styling. Ivory white convertible top and rear fender skirts complement the sleek profile, and the 15-inch wheels with Cadillac-crest covers are fitted with newer Firestone Deluxe Champion wide whitewall tires. This Eldorado is a beautiful example that is perfect for frequent driving and to present at local shows.
The interior features white leather seating for six, with a six-way power-adjustable front bench and a rear bench in similarly preserved condition. The front seating surfaces show creasing and seam separation near the driver’s side, with cracking on the seatback pockets. The door panel leather remains in good condition. Dark Rose carpeting is in good overall condition with some wear consistent with age and normal use. The two-spoke steering wheel is finished in white that does have some cracks. The factory instrumentation is in good working condition with power windows, power vents, power antenna, factory air conditioning and aftermarket radio system. This is an Eldorado that is in good overall condition with some cosmetic imperfections.
The Eldorado starts right up, has a smooth yet powerful feel, provides a strong braking response and is overall a wonderful driver! Powered by its original 390-cubic-inch V8 engine (stamped with 60E041206), the Eldorado Biarritz produces a factory-rated 345 horsepower paired with a 3-speed Hydra-Matic transmission. With 430 lb-ft of torque, a 0–60 time of 10.8 seconds, and a 124-mph top speed, the model offered notable performance for its class. This Cadillac has a Holly Sniper electronic fuel injection with a keychain battery cut off. This Cadillac has been regularly serviced under current ownership and has a clean safety inspection. This Eldorado is ready to be enjoyed!
The Cadillac comes with a custom pink car cover, service record documentation and build records.
