THE ESSENTIALS
This is an elegant rust-free 1963 Cadillac Series 62 Convertible with factory air conditioning that is perfect for local and regional car shows and tours. Being well sorted, this Cadillac can be enjoyed immediately. We love the color combination which is perfect for open motoring!
This Cadillac previously lived in the Carolinas. She was acquired by Michael Belanger, of Ontario, Canada in 2018. She is rust-free (and confirmed with our “Bondo Detector”) and has benefitted from an older restoration that shows well today.
This Cadillacs livery has been refinished in its original Bahama Sand (Paint Code 44) sometime prior to Mr. Belanger taking ownership. The paint shows well overall, with great shine and luster. There are some touched up chips and wear in the normal high use areas (such as door jambs- see our photo gallery for close-ups). Her chrome and stainless-steel trim show well with some imperfections in just a few small areas. The chrome on the bumpers is original and shows some wear, noticeable upon close inspection (which is our job). The white power vinyl convertible top is in very nice condition. The power convertible top functions as designed and fits well. She comes complete with her tan vinyl top boot cover which also shows very well. Overall, the exterior is in nice condition.
Her interior features Tan vinyl seats and Tan vinyl door panels (Interior Code 24). The vinyl shows well. The carpeting is complimentary light brown in color and also in nice condition. The dark taupe colored dash shows well as does the dark taupe upper door trim throughout. She comes complete with rubber Cadillac floor mats. The AM/FM radio works well as does the automatic antenna.
Cadillacs venerable 390 CID V8 develops 325 hp and performs smoothly and powerfully, as you would expect for a well-maintained example. The 4-speed Hydra-Matic automatic transmission shifts smoothly and operates quietly. The engine compartment is well detailed and looks great. All the accessories and gauges work well, with the exception of the clock. This Series 62 runs and drives beautifully. The factory air conditioning works well and blows cold air.
The value of the 1960s Cadillac convertibles have been increasing rapidly because they are fun to drive, classic in appearance and are nearly indestructible. The Hagerty Value Guide shows that the No.2 Value for a 1963 Cadillac Series 62 Convertible is $52,000, making this a nice value.
