THE ESSENTIALS
This is a collector owned, two prior owner 1993 Cadillac Allante Convertible in its original Polo Green Metallic paint and well preserved original Black leather interior. With only 61,000 well cared for miles from new, this Cadillac promises years of cruising and fun. From a collectability standpoint, this convertible has it all, a rare color combination, one year only Northstar V8, and the desirable factory hard top. With the renowned Italian Coachbuilder Pininfarina designing and supplying the body, and Cadillac introducing their latest in technology, the result has become a 90’s American sport luxury icon. We are offering this Allante once again on behalf of the estate of one of our clients.
This Allante was bought new at Steve Foley Cadillac in Northbrook, IL and the owner received the Cadillac Gold Key delivery treatment. The owner then brough it to her home in nearby Winnetka where it was driven sparingly, and garage kept. All service and maintenance records show that Steve Foley Cadillac was trusted to take care of all routine maintenance for the life of the car. Due to its clean CARFAX report, well-documented service history, and the obvious signs of care, a collector in Arizona bought the car and had it transported down to Phoenix in December of 2020.
Coated in its original Polo Green Metallic color (91U), this Cadillac shows well with a deep luster and light-catching metallic flake. A few rock chips have been treated with touch up paint around the body and the overall appearance is terrific. The scripts and emblems appear as new. The high level of care becomes even more apparent when looking at the deep front lip spoiler that shows without any major scratches or dents. The aluminum removable hard top is near flawless in form and function. The black soft top looks fantastic and operates as expected with the controls behind the driver seat. The one-piece plastic boot cover hides the soft top when not in use and is free from blemishes. The exterior lights are bright with clear lenses. One change that was made by the current owner are the original wheels that have been triple chromed and look stunning.
Only 102 of the 960 Polo Green Allantes had a black interior, creating a desirable package from the start. The soft leather seats in this Cadillac show the expected level of wear from 60,000 miles of use. They are well cushioned, and the power adjustments work to put you in your ideal position. The dash and door panels appear as new. The center console is showing some signs of wear, but everything operates as expected. This Cadillac was not equipped with the optional digital gauge package, which means the issues that can arise with digital instrumentation will never affect this Allante. The center stack houses a CD and cassette player with Cadillac’s Symphony Sound package as well as the driver information center and the electronic climate control settings. The CD and cassette players were not tested, but the stereo does work very well. Climate control allows for precise temperatures in the cabin as well as an auto setting for comfort in any weather.
Mechanically, the Allante is in good running condition. The venerable Northstar V8 made its first appearance in this model and would go on to be the engine of choice in Cadillacs for almost 20 years. The Northstar accelerates this Allante down the road quickly with just a hint of the deep rumble coming from the exhaust. Given the regular maintenance intervals throughout its ownership, this Allante is ready to go for many more years of spirited driving. As a halo car for the brand, the Allante was also equipped with a road sensing suspension system that adjusts the suspension damping on the fly, turning the Allante into a more nimble canyon carver than previous models. This became a staple technology in high performance automobiles across General Motors brands that is still in use today.
The Cadillac will come with Service Manuals, original owner’s manual, two brand new rear shocks (even though there are new ones currently on it), and a fitted car cover.
We have this Allante priced well. The Hagerty Value for a No. 2 example is $20,100.
