This was a terrific weekend in the San Diego area. The two events were wonderful. The Classic Car Club of America (CCCA) Annual Meeting is held at differing locations each year in January and this year it was in San Diego. We visited and dined on the USS Midway aircraft carrier, had a harbor cruise and a terrific concours with about ten near 100 point classics right on the ocean at Seaport Village on Saturday, January 9th.
Then on Sunday the 10th we had the La Jolla Motor Car Classic right overlooking the Pacific in gorgeous La Jolla Cove. I was the Field Marshall for this event and the weather was amazing! It was even punctuated with high tides, glassy smooth water with huge waves hitting the coast.
Both events had the first Darrin produced in Hollywood and the last. The first was a sexy little Ford Darrin convertible victoria and the last was a huge but gorgeous Packard Darrin sedan that was found in Mexico City being used as a taxi cab!!!
Here are some photos from the events. Keep driving those cars!!
