This is a terrific 1967 Shelby GT500 that is a largely original car that has been sympathetically restored as needed. With the 428 CID V8, four-speed manual transmission and Traction-Lok rear end, this is a great performing Shelby.
This Shelby has a well-known history and has been well documented in the Shelby Registry for decades. It was built at the Ford plant on December 12, 1966 and then built at the Shelby plant on January 4th, 1967. It was shipped to El Paso Auto Center on January 6, 1967 was first purchased on February 2, 1967 by Abelardo Quesada from El Paso, TX. Later owners included Doug Liechty, Jan Orme from California, Danny Miller from Niland, California and most recently Jared Hare in Mesa, AZ. This Shelby is now owned by one of our consignment clients.
We love the Lime Green metallic paint with the white owner added Le Mans racing stripes. The paint appears to have many sections of original paint with added clear coat. Overall, the paint and chrome is good to very good. There is orange peel evidenced in the paint and a smaller upward dent in the drivers side front fender. The chrome overall is very original and nice with a few small areas of imperfections. It has the one piece slanted front grill with the center extensions for the headlights. It has the Kelsey-Hayes 15-inch Magstar wheels and the functional side brake scoops.
The black interior is very nice and is said to be all original with the exception of the black carpeting. The condition of the interior reflects a car that has been well cared for. The interior looks very sharp and has a consistent patina as the rest of the Shelby.
The engine compartment looks very well detailed. The 428 CID with dual-carbs is said to produce close to 400 hp. The details in the engine compartment look very correct and original. This Shelby is equipped with power disc brakes, power steering, the shoulder harness and the four-speed manual transmission.
