PRICE REDUCED!! This is a beautiful 1937 Packard Super 8 Model 1502 Convertible Sedan that has been awarded numerous First Place awards while participating on many tours and CARavans. This is said to be one of 99 made and one of 13 known to exist. Dietrich designed the lines of the gorgeous 1937 convertible sedan, but the bodies were built at the Packard plant.

This Packard was sold on May 11, 1937 at the Morristown Packard Company in Morristown, NJ. By 1998, the Packard was owned by the iconic Tom Crook in Kent, WA. It was already cosmetically restored and was a very nice example. Mr. John Milliken from Westlake Village, Ca acquired the Packard on September 15, 1998. Immediately after acquiring the Super 8, John commenced a complete engine rebuild, added the Gear Vendor overdrive and did a significant number of additional improvements.

By 2001, the Packard was ready to show and earned its CCCA First Place Senior Badge No. 2327.

On March 11, 2004, Mr. Milliken traded the Packard for another car with Mr. David McCready from Hillsboro, OR. Scott Simdorn from Ottertail, MN acquired the Super 8 from Mr. McCreary on August 7, 2009. This Super 8 has accumulated about 7,000 miles since its mechanical restoration.

The livery is Primrose and complimented by burgundy coach stripes and burgundy wheels with cream striping. The twin side mounted spares give it a formal presence and include the correct metal covers and mirrors. The rear has the trunk rack and Trippe Lights are mounted on the front. Importantly, the Dietrich, Inc. body tag remains on the cowl. The tan canvas convertible top is in very nice condition.

The interior is presented in a beautiful burgundy leather that is soft and supple. The correct burgundy Wilton wool carpet has burgundy leather binding. The faux wood graining on the dash and window surrounds are well done and as-new. The correct wood on the door caps and division window are all in very nice condition. The convertible top hardware is all in beautiful chrome. The interior features many accessories including a Tropic Air heater and an AM radio with an auxiliary speaker.

The engine compartment is beautifully detailed for show. The completely rebuilt 320 cid straight eight-cylinder engine has 7,000 miles added since its restoration. The three-speed manual transmission is connected through the Gear Vendor overdrive unit that adds a 22% overdrive. The chassis has been well cleaned, painted and detailed when restored and looks very nice today. Diamond Back wide white walled radials help make the handling and performance better, while making for safer touring.

The older restoration has held up well over the years. There is a scratch in the rear bumper and a variety of small touched up chips in the high use areas.

For more information and details, please call, text or email Harry Clark at +1.623.404.9042 or sales@classicpromenade.com. This Super 8 is available for viewing in our Phoenix showroom.

This is a restored only as-needed 1934 Packard Super Eight Model 1104 Club Sedan that is a CARavan veteran as well as a successful show car. This Packard has never been taken apart and restored, instead, in the words of the previous owners, “it has always been taken care of since new and no owner, including myself, has ever felt the need to restore it.” This is a wonderful opportunity to acquire one of the most iconic enclosed Packard’s with terrific provenance and in beautiful condition. This is an incredibly elegant Club Sedan with its 142-inch wheelbase, long hoodline and close-coupled passenger compartment.

This Club Sedan was bought new in Brooklyn, NY on November 3, 1934. It’s history is traced back to 1950 with the most notable owner being John Hogg III. Mr. Hogg was a longtime collector and CCCA member and owned this Club Sedan for 25 years. The Club Sedans next owner was Gene Nau from Naples, FL who showed it and also participated with the car in the 2013 CCCA Re-Discover America tour from New York to California. The Club Sedan proved itself a worthy and successful CARavan car, requiring only a new set of tires and a generator rebuild afterwards. Mr. Nau enjoyed the Club Sedan and on October 11, 2013 sold it to its present owner.

The Club Sedan’s present owner has shown and toured with the car over the years. At the CCCA Grand Classic in Minnesota in August 2, 2014, the Club Sedan earned its National Senior Award No. 3153 with a 96-point win. The judging sheet is published as part of this listing.

The black livery was repainted many years ago, most likely in the early 1990’s. It presents itself very well with gorgeous luster and depth. There are, as you would expect, many touched up chips and a few small areas of cracking (most likely from the factory’s use of lead) and such, but these are only noticeable upon close inspection. The black livery is complimented with red coachstripes and red wire wheels, including the dual side mounted spares. The chrome and stainless-steel trim are very good to excellent. Much of the chrome is original, again reflecting the care this motorcar has received over its lifetime. The top and glass have been replaced years ago and is in excellent condition.

This Club Sedan is highly accessorized with Trippe Satey Lights, trunk rack with an unrestored trunk, heater, radio and more. In addition, upgraded accessories include front and rear seat belts, Gear Vendor overdrive, electric fuel pump, dual 6-volt Optima batteries, accessory turn signal lights, and oil filter system.

The interior is simply stunning because of its originality and condition. The gray wool broadcloth interior is largely original. The driver’s seat is said to have been reupholstered over the years, but its patina matches perfectly the rest of the upholstery. There are a few small areas of repairs and there are no stains or other issues. The carpet appears to have been replaced long ago as well and is in excellent condition. The dashboard is gorgeous and original, with beautiful faux woodgraining and gorgeous gauges. The wood trim throughout the interior is in excellent condition and only refinished as-needed.

The Super Eights benefitted from the venerable 384 CID L-head straight eight engine that produced 145 bhp. The engine was rebuilt about 15,000 miles ago and performs very well today. The engine and the engine compartment display well for show.

All accessories have been rebuilt as needed, such as the generator, starter, carburetors, etc. Everything works as it should, including the Bjur lubrication system, vacuum servo-assisted mechanical brakes and variable-pressure shock absorbers. Included in the purchase is a California Car Cover, the unrestored trunk and a wonderful file history of the Club Sedan.

For more information and details, please call, text or email Harry Clark at +1.623.404.9042 or sales@classicpromenade.com. The Club Sedan is available for viewing at our Phoenix showroom.

This is a rare example of a 1940 Packard 160 Super Eight Touring Sedan that has accumulated 30,000 miles from new with the last owner caring for it for the past 48 years. This is a driver or touring quality 160 that has a completely original interior and has had one repaint since new in French Blue. The 1940 senior Packards with overdrive are one of the very best driving CCCA Full Classics.

Bought new at Fargo Garage in Fargo, North Dakota, this Packard was in Minnesota by the early 1970’s. By August 16, 1973, this Packard was bought by Mr. Arthur Stone and was one of his very first Packards. We still have the original title from 1973 in the Packards file! Mr. Stone founded the Ft. Lauderdale Antique Car Museum, which was arguably one of the finest all-Packard auto museums opened to the public. By 2001, Mr. Stone transferred ownership of the Packard to his museum. We acquired this Packard directly from the museum after Mr. Stone’s passing.

We love the service stickers placed in the drivers door jamb. On October 29th, 1951 this Packard had a service performed in Herman, MN logging 21,787 miles. By January 25th, 1982 it had accumulated 29,889 miles and today has 30,374 miles from new.

The livery is in Packard French Blue, which is a vibrant, deep and rich color. The paint is touring quality and would be fine for local and regional car shows, but is not concours. The paint has several areas of imperfection when inspected closely (See close-up photos in the photo gallery). This features dual side mounted spares with the correct metal covers and trim. The Packard is complimented with ample chrome throughout, including its Goddess of Speed hood ornament. The chrome and stainless are all original and in nice condition, consistent with the rest of the car and for a 30,000-mile example. The blackwall tires give it an austere look. We would recommend installing wide white wall radials for touring.

The interior is all original. The wool broadcloth is in overall very nice condition, and in stunning condition when you factor in that it is 81 years old! The drivers seat shows some wear and has two tears on its side. Near the drivers seat is a small hole. Other than that, the wool is in very nice condition. The back seat is in especially nice condition. The dashboard has the normal warping that happens with that plastic over the years. It appears as though it had a radio at one time which is now missing (NOTE: We have ordered the factory radio delete plate to cover the radio section). This Packard features its optional heater.

The engine compartment is very clean and in nice condition. It is detailed appropriately for local and regional shows. The venerable 356 CID straight eight nine main bearing engine is considered one of the very best engines of the classic era. With 160 hp, the Packard runs and drives well, and with its optional overdrive is capable of driving all day long at freeway speeds. These are very dependable tour cars and have characteristics much like more modern cars. With its relatively short 127-inch wheelbase, this Packard is more maneuverable and easier to drive.

For valuation purposes, the NADA retail value is $36,700, so we have this priced fairly.

For more details and information, please call, text or email Harry Clark at +1.623.404.9042 or sales@classicpromenade.com. This Packard is in our Phoenix showroom.

SOLD! Off to Detroit! Contact Harry Clark at +1.623.404.9042 or email us at sales@classicpromenade.com.

This is a gorgeous restored 1941 Packard Super Eight 160 five passenger sedan that has a long history of being a tour veteran. The present owner has 65 cars in his collection and since about 2009 has enjoyed driving this Packard on several CCCA CARavans throughout the US. It has been a terrifically dependable tourer as well as being finished in a stunning color combination.

This Packard was sold new in Denver on April 12, 1941. For many years it was part of the Tom Mix collection in Massachusetts. Mr. Mix had Mercedes dealerships and was a very significant collector of Packards. In his collection was a Darrin Victoria, a 734 Phaeton and a number of other stunning Packards. He had his own restoration facilities and his team set out on a restoration of this 160 Sedan. They completed the car in a beautiful combination of metallic blue and a champagne silver. The chrome is excellent throughout the car and includes the optional front grill guard and the rear trunk guard.

The interior is also stunning in a tan and blue wool broadcloth. The woodgrain is gorgeous throughout, in a grey burl that is a perfect compliment to the wool interior.

The Super Eights all came with Packards venerable nine main bearing straight eight with 356 cu in and an optional three speed overdrive transmission. The overdrive is a touring necessity and makes the car easily cruise along at modern highway speeds (70-75 mph). And the braking is more than ample to give a strong sense of control and confidence, even at the higher speeds. This Packard has been upgraded to the wide white wall radial tires which are far safer and increase the handling substantially.

With dual side mounted spares, the trunk is left wide open for a weeks worth of luggage, and then some!! The heater and defroster and radio are all options making the interior more comfortable for the tours.

For more information and details, please call Harry Clark at +1.623.404.9042 or email us at sales@classicpromenade.com.

SOLD to Chicago!! This is a very solid 1948 Packard Super 8 Convertible Victoria that has enjoyed three owners since new. This is a tour quality example that has a very solid road feel and would benefit greatly by replacing the original interior.

This Packard was bought new in December of 1948 in Mason City, Iowa for a couple celebrating their 25th wedding anniversary. The dealer installed the dual spotlights and abundance of accessories because convertibles weren’t popular in this largely agricultural community. The original owner also asked the dealer to blend the two hood ornaments available at the time to create a truly unique Packard hood ornament. You’ll never see this sight again! They enjoyed the Packard for 12 years and eventually sold it to Chuck Beede in about 1960. Mr. Beede and his wife shortly after acquiring the car moved to Green Valley, AZ. The Beede’s used the Packard as a daily driver for the family and community parades keeping the car until 1997. Retired Judge Joseph Howe acquired the car from Mrs. Beede and has enjoyed it until now. His failing eyesight requires the Packard to find a new caretaker.

The striking burgundy metallic paint was repainted in 2018 and has a beautiful luster. The paint has been well polished and looks very nice overall. The chrome is all very good to excellent. The car is very well accessorized with its dual spot lights, dual reverse lights, dual side mirrors and the gas filler door trim. The tan Haartz cloth canvas convertible top and tan vinyl top boot are in very nice condition, albiet older.

The interior is a mixture of original and older replacement. The dashboard has beautiful original chrome and is actually one of the nicest original dashes we’ve seen. And all the instruments work as they should. The paint on the dashboard has been repainted and looks nice. The seats may be original or perhaps were redone many decades ago and need to be reupholstered. The door panels are original and the car would benefit from having all the carpeting and upholstery redone.

We performed a recommissioning of the car to include a new battery, rebuilt carburetor, and a tune up. Mechanically the Packard drives very well. The instruments, accessories and lights work well. Packard’s venerable 327 CID straight eight engine has 145 HP, and this engine was completely rebuilt by the top engineers in Scottsdale, AZ. The transmission and overdrive have also been rebuilt and work well. Since the rebuilding of the engine, the Packard has made several trips to Northern and Southern California to the Packards International Annual Membership Meetings and other events. It has been a reliable and comfortable long distance tour car.

The Hagerty No. 3 value is $33,700 and the Collector Car Price Guide shows No. 3 to be $38,250, making this Packard priced about right.

To learn more or to discuss details, please call or text Harry Clark at +1.623.404.9042 or email us at sales@classicpromenade.com. The Packard is available for inspection at our Phoenix showroom.

The known history of this Packard commences on January 11, 1964 when Dr. Mortimer Bloom from West Orange, NJ had the car judged at the Classic Car Club of America 12th Annual Meeting at Buck Hills Falls, Pennsylvania. The Packard was awarded a Senior badge, Number 205, and scored 92.25 points in the Custom Late class (Dietrich’s were considered Custom until later in the clubs history).

The Packard was white with black fenders and had the optional chrome accessory package including the sidemounts, headlights and taillights. (According to Bob Turnquist, if Dr. Bloom could chrome his daughter, he would.) The restoration work was performed by James Tsuscinsky of Garfield, NJ.

Shortly after being awarded the Senior Badge, the Packard was sold to the Packard collector Ernie Snyder from New Jersey. Mr. Snyder used the car frequently for family drives and outings and by the late 1960’s repainted the car yellow with red leather interior and retained the chrome accessories. The car had recorded a total of approximately 27,000 miles. After approximately 30 years ownership Mr. Snyder sold the car to Harry Clark.

Harry bought the Packard on April 5th, 1993 needing a complete restoration. The yellow paint was deteriorated and the leather was dry. The engine ran, but needed a complete rebuild.

The Clark’s commenced a full restoration in 1994 that was finished by 2001. Amazingly, the body required almost no repair. There were virtually no dents or other damage to the sheet metal. The restoration was completed by the Packard specialty restoration experts at Custom Auto Service in Santa Ana, CA.

Since 2001, the car has been shown at the Packard’s International and CCCA events. At the 50th Anniversary Annual Meeting for the CCCA in San Jose, the Packard was acknowledged as having the lowest Senior badge number, being the 205th motorcar in the Club’s history to be awarded a Senior badge.

At the 2002 Packard’s International Annual Meeting, the Convertible Sedan scored one of the highest scores in PI’s history with 2451/4 points and became a Circle of Champions member. In 2003, the Packard scored 99.5 points at the CCCA Grand Classic in the Premier Class, having now received all the CCCA award badges. At both meets the windshield wipers malfunctioned causing the respective point deductions. This malady has since been corrected.
