James is in remarkable condition, belying the fact that it’s 28 years old having covered 60,000 miles (97,000 kilometers).  This Bentley was special ordered on May 31, 1994, by Cornes and Company for delivery to Japan.  Arriving at Yokohama on the Frankfurt Express on the 17th of September 1994, this was ordered as a LHD example likely with the intent of selling it to North America after being enjoyed by its first owner.  Japan has very strict annual motor vehicle inspections and cars in Japan are typically very well maintained as a result.

By October of 2015 and having accumulated 47,000 miles, James was exported to Vancouver, BC.  Its third and present owner is Kim Spencer who has maintained this Bentley mainly at Bentley Vancouver.  Mr. Spencer is the type of collector you want to buy a car from.  He researched the weak areas of the Bentley and proactively addressed these.  In addition, he collected a wonderful assortment of items that will come with the car, including Bentley umbrellas, a Bentley picnic basket and custom Magnolia leather pillows emblazoned with the Flying B logo for the rear seats.  James comes complete with a large portfolio of factory build records and service receipts since being in North America. It would likely perform very well at RROC or other concours events.

The livery is striking in the classic color of Racing Green, being accented 17” Bentley seven spoke alloy wheels.  The paint is original and in excellent condition.  There are only a few very small imperfections on the exterior. None of these are noticeable without very close scrutiny (which is our job to point out).  The front grill has been upgraded to the impressive newer chrome matrix grill.

As stunning as the exterior appears, the interior we believe to be simply gorgeous. Displayed with soft Magnolia leather with Spruce leather piping, the interior shows little to no wear. The headliner is Magnolia leather and the dash pad, and all four armrests are contrasted in Spruce leather and look fantastic. The beautiful burled walnut veneers are in very nice condition with only a small number of cracks in the door caps. The Wilton wool carpet is presented in Conifer with Magnolia binding throughout.  The carpet is protected by the Conifer sheepskin mouton overlays that are in nearly new condition.  This example is consistent with Bentley’s country club ambiance. We love seeing interiors that have been so beautifully maintained as this example.

The true heart of the Continental R is the engine and drivetrain. The entire drivetrain is based on the Turbo R, and it shared all of its components. Built with the venerable Bentley turbocharged 6.75-liter V8, the R’s had 385 bhp and an incredible 500 ft-lbs. of torque available at just 2,000 RPMs. This provided the power to achieve 155 mph and a 0-60 mph time of 5.9 seconds. The power is transmitted through the tried-and-true GM 4L80E four-speed automatic transmission. And this performance is from a motorcar weighing more than two tons!

As mentioned, all of the mechanical service issues have been proactively addressed, including the Fuel rail O-rings, engine valley seals, mineral oil pumps, steering rack rebuilt, power seat and alarm batteries updated, hoses and belts and accumulators replaced.

James comes complete with all of its books, extra sets of keys, tools, safety equipment and service records. We have this priced right at between the Hagerty No. 1 and 2 values, which we believe to represent this example fairly.

Everything works as it should. We completed a detailed inspection and found everything to be in proper order.

This Continental T was custom ordered by Bentley of Newport Beach.  Leaving the factory on the 6^th of December 1996 and sailing from England on the Majestic Maersk, this Continental T arrived in Los Angeles on the 1^st of January 1997.  His first owner was Jim Pollock of Rancho Mirage.  Jim enjoyed the Bentley until April 9^th of 2003, when it was acquired by its second owner.  He enjoyed the Bentley for about a year and a half.  It is said that he was part of the France NASCAR empire in Florida.  It’s third and last owner was Christopher Sullivan from Somis, CA who acquired the Bentley on December 23, 2004 with 16,497 miles accumulated.  Mr. Sullivan used the Bentley as a daily driver for 18 years faithfully maintaining it will Bentley dealers and specialists.  The Bentley now has just over 50,000 miles from new.

The livery is original and gorgeous in its Black Emerald Mica (Paint Code 9540021).  The paint is beautiful, looking black in the shade or evening while reflecting a dark green metallic in the direct sunlight.  The wide body configuration is sleek and sexy and looks masculine at any angle.  The custom 20-inch chrome wheels make it look even more contemporary and aggressive while making it handle much better than your normal Continental T.  The Red B center caps are correct Bentley specification and look great.  The chrome matrix grill is a timeless classic that is still used today.  Overall, the exterior is nearly perfect with only one very small bubble below a rear quarter window and a very small chip in the windshield on the edge of the passenger side.

The interior was custom ordered with Continental R seating in Soft Tan and Sandstone two tone.  The leather is all original and in very nice condition.  We touched up the dye on the driver’s seat and custom ordered two-toned chubby steering wheel.  The steering wheel feels terrific and natural in your hands.  Most Continental T’s were ordered with the engine-turned aluminum integrated on the dash and door caps.  This was custom specified to have all straight grained mahogany, which we have never before seen.  It is a striking look that really reinforces this as a gentleman’s grand tourer rather than a muscle car.

The mahogany wood is all in near perfect condition throughout, attesting to the care that this Bentley has received throughout its life.  The door cap railings all have red winged “B” emblems integrated.  Of course, the red starter button and turbo-boost gauge are in the center console.  An updated Pioneer stereo and navigation system has been added.  The Black carpeting has Sandstone binding and are covered with the original sheepskin mouton overlays, including a black mouton overlay covering the carpeting in the trunk!!  The previous owner did not use the overlays leaving them in excellent condition, while the carpeting underneath show wear in specific areas.

The engine compartment is well detailed and almost looks new.  The 400 hp V8 produces massive torque with a top speed of 155 mph.  This Bentley performs as you would expect, shooting off like a freight train.  Being well maintained, the radials are new in the rear and nearly new in the front.  Everything works as it should save for the driver’s seat is intermittent when adjusting it.

We love the optional town and country two toned horns.  This Bentley has its original owners’ manuals, extra alarm remote, tools, jack and spare.  The NADA Value is $100,300 and we have this priced to sell.

This Bentley is virtually as new, belying the fact that its 20 years old having covered a mere 24,000 miles. It has lived its life in the San Diego and Orange County, CA region from new, with only one registered owner. It would likely perform very well at concours events.

As stunning as the exterior appears, the interior we believe to be gorgeous. Displayed with soft tan leather with suede bolsters and contrasted with St James Red piping, the interior shows almost no wear. We love the wood accents rather than the engine turned aluminum in most Continental T’s. The burled walnut veneers are almost perfect. We noticed one very small imperfection only noticeable upon close inspection. This example is consistent with Bentley’s country club ambiance. We would like to see the mouton sheepskin overlays added on top of the red Wilton Wool carpeting.

The true heart of the Continental T is the engine and drivetrain. Built with the venerable Bentley turbocharged 6.75 liter V8, the T’s had 420 bhp and an incredible 650 ft lbs of torque available at only 2,200 RPMs. This provided the power to achieve 170 mph and a 0-60 mph time of 5.6 seconds. And this from a motorcar weighing more than two tons.

Everything works as it should. We completed a detailed inspection and found everything to be in proper order. We ran a CARFAX and found it to be perfect as well. This Bentley is ready to show, drive and enjoy.

It has lived its life in Newport Beach, CA, Scottsdale, AZ and more recently in Cape Cod, and has been regularly serviced at Rolls-Royce and Bentley dealerships. This R comes complete with a large portfolio of service receipts for most of its life. It has been shown frequently and would likely continue to perform very well at RROC or other concours events.

The livery is striking in Arctic White, being accented tan coach stripes and 17” Bentley chrome wheels. There are only a few very small imperfections on the exterior, including a pencil tip sized chip in front, a small touched up chip on the drivers mirror and a small impression in the center of the rear bumper. None of these are noticeable without very close scrutiny (which is our job to point out).

As stunning as the exterior appears, the interior we believe to be simply gorgeous. Displayed with soft tan leather, the interior shows little to no wear. The headliner and dash pad are also matching tan leather and look fantastic. The burled walnut veneers are almost perfect. We haven’t noticed any cracks in the veneer or fading and the leather is soft and supple with almost no age related creases. This example is consistent with Bentley’s country club ambiance. We rarely ever see interiors that have been so beautifully maintained as this example. The windows are all tinted, with a small blemish in the passengers side window tint.

Built with the venerable Bentley turbocharged 6.75 liter V8, the R’s had 328 bhp and incredible torque available at low RPMs. This provided the power to achieve 152 mph and a 0-60 mph time of 6.6 seconds. The power is transmitted through the tried and true GM 4L80E four-speed automatic transmission. And this performance is from a motorcar weighing more than two tons!

This Bentley comes complete with all of its books, two sets of keys, tools, safety equipment and service records. We have this priced right at the Hagerty No. 2 value, which we believe to represent this example fairly.
