This 1960 Rolls-Royce Silver Cloud II LWB Saloon with Division is a US delivered factory left-hand drive example and one of only 98 produced in this body configuration. This Rolls is very well equipped with factory installed rear air conditioning, power steering, power windows, and power division window. The exterior is Smoke Green paired with a blue-grey interior with burl walnut woodwork throughout. The Silver Cloud II is powered by its original 6.2L V8 paired with a four-speed automatic transmission. The rare Silver Cloud II is in overall fair condition that will be a desirable Rolls after further cosmetic and mechanical recommissioning.

This Silver Cloud II was ordered new by Mrs. M.W. Runnells through Rolls-Royce’s American distributor J.S. Inskip and delivered to her in Chicago, Illinois in May 1960. Her address was 919 N. Michigan Avenue. Her building was known as The Palmolive Building, but from the mid-1960s through to the late 1980s, better known as the Playboy Building, where Hugh Hefner’s publishing business was based. The Silver Cloud was delivered with a full chauffeur specification that included the factory glass division, rear air conditioning, power steering, Sundym tinted glass throughout, and electrically operated windows on all four doors plus the division glass itself. The owner’s initials, M.W.R., were inscribed on each front door. The Rolls-Royce Owners Club records chart later owners as George Huguely of Washington D.C. in June 1967, and Leonard Horwich in 1972. A Department of Defense admission sticker on the bumper dates to 1979. The current owner acquired the Silver Cloud II in 2022 and has since brought the Rolls-Royce to starting, driving, and stopping condition.

The exterior of the Silver Cloud II is finished in Smoke Green, and the paint is in overall fair condition. The brightwork is in overall good condition with age-appropriate patina from normal use. The Spirit of Ecstasy mascot is in great condition with crisp, well-defined features, and the radiator brightwork is in great condition. The Silver Cloud is equipped with headlights, parking lamps, fog lamps, taillights, and functioning windshield wipers. This Silver Cloud II has both fender-mounted mirrors and dual mirrors. The glass is in overall good condition showing minor wear. The Silver Cloud has green matching wheel covers, and the tires will require replacement prior to extended driving. As a Coker Tire dealer, we are happy to assist the next owner with recommendations.

The interior of the Silver Cloud II is blue-gray which highlights the Walnut Burl woodwork throughout and is in overall fair condition. In the front driver’s compartment, the blue-gray leather seats are in overall good condition with only minimal cracking consistent with age. The Walnut burl dashboard woodwork is in good condition. The door panels are in good condition overall, while the door caps, armrests, and carpeting have specific areas that are in fair condition. Features include Smiths gauges, power windows, a working clock, an aftermarket Sony radio and factory power division window that is currently not functional. The rear passenger compartment features division woodwork and rear folding picnic tables that are in good condition. The blue-gray broadcloth upholstery is in overall good condition with minor small perforations noted. The rear door panels are in fair condition and the headliner is in good condition. This Silver Cloud II has a dome light and the rear reading and vanity lights are inoperative. The original factory rear “boot” air conditioning system is present but currently not operational. The interior is fitted with all the desirable features that long wheelbases are known for and is incredibly comfortable. This Silver Cloud II has a great foundation to build off of for further restoration to be ready for shows and touring.

The Silver Cloud II is powered by the original 6.2L V8 with twin SU carburetors paired with a four-speed GM Hydramatic transmission. The Silver Cloud starts both cold and warm, able to drive and the servo-assisted braking system is functional but will require servicing before regular driving use. The oil pressure and operating temperatures are very good and the engine operates well. A new battery was installed in April 2026.

This Silver Cloud II is best described as a project Rolls that can be easily a “rolling” project or an excellent candidate for further restoration. The Rolls is sold AS-IS. Included are build records, service records, a clean Arizona title, select tools, and the wheel-mounted spare stored in the trunk.

The 1940 Cadillac V-16 Imperial Sedan Model 9033 represents the final and most refined expression of Cadillac’s legendary sixteen-cylinder era, combining Art Deco presence with unmatched mechanical sophistication. Powered by the original 431 cubic inch V-16 and configured as a seven-passenger Imperial Sedan by Fisher-Fleetwood, this example presents in excellent restored condition following a comprehensive frame-off restoration completed in 2018. With fewer than two dozen built and only five known to survive, the Cadillac is best suited for premier concours display, CCCA events, and significant collections focused on prewar American luxury.

This Cadillac is documented as the ninth Model 9033 Imperial Sedan produced for the final year of the iconic V-16 engine, from a total production run of just 20 examples in 1940 with only five remaining today. The Cadillac was purchased in 1953 by John Confer of Tucson, Arizona, who enjoyed the Cadillac regularly for many years before storing it with the intention of eventual restoration. The current owner acquired the Cadillac in 2011 with 54,551 miles indicated and undertook a meticulous frame-off restoration that concluded in 2018. Since completion, the Cadillac has been selectively shown at CCCA and Concours events, earning recognition for both authenticity and presentation, and now shows 54,558 miles.

The Imperial Sedan is finished in its original Cavern Green, presenting with exceptional gloss, depth, and surface quality that highlight the Fleetwood body’s dramatic scale and Art Deco proportions. The fully rechromed grille, brightwork, and trim are in excellent condition, anchored by the iconic “Flying Goddess” hood ornament that also serves as the hood latch release. The headlights are fitted into the body and appear slightly asymmetrical. Twin side-mounted covered spare tires reinforce the formal profile, while bright green painted wheels fitted with V-16 chrome hubcaps and wide whitewall tires complete the period-correct presentation.

The interior reflects Cadillac’s pinnacle of chauffeur-driven luxury, with a black leather front compartment trimmed with tan carpeting that presents in very good to excellent condition. The rear passenger compartment is upholstered in tan broadcloth in excellent condition and configured with two captain-style chairs, dual folding jump seats, and plush carpeting with folding footrests, creating a serene and formal traveling environment. Burled walnut window surrounds, period-correct Art Deco lighting, and a functioning roll-up division security plate glass provide both elegance and acoustic isolation. Instrumentation, including the sweeping 100-mph speedometer, gauges, and dash clock, remains functional, while the original Motorphone intercom system is present though not currently operational.

Power is provided by the original Series 90 L-head 431 cubic inch V-16 engine, equipped with dual carburetors, twin fuel pumps, and twin distributors, paired with the original three-speed synchromesh manual transmission with column shift. The drivetrain has been thoroughly cleaned, serviced, and maintained since the restoration, delivering the hallmark smoothness and near-silent operation that defined Cadillac’s V-16 flagship. Independent front suspension with coil springs, semi-elliptic rear leaf springs, and four-wheel hydraulic drum brakes provide a composed, “boat-like” ride quality, with the steering box rebuilt in 2024. This Cadillac remains a mechanically sorted and historically significant example of prewar American engineering at its absolute peak.

The Hagerty Value for a 1940 Cadillac V-16 Imperial Sedan Model 9033 is $200,000 for a No. 1 example and $145,000 for a No. 2 example. We have this priced fairly for our client and the buyer as a 1- for its condition, preservation and provenance.

The Cadillac comes with authenticity, shop, owner’s and manufacturing manuals, restoration and maintenance records, and a soft car cover.

For more information and details, please call or text Kendi Brown at +1.623.404.9042 or email us at sales@classicpromenade.com.
The St. Regis designation represented the top trim level within the New Yorker lineup for 1956, distinguished by its exclusive two-door hardtop body style and upgraded interior and exterior appointments. The white exterior is overall excellent condition, and the blue two-toned interior is in great overall condition. This Thunderbird is a great driver and will be a blast to frequent car shows and enjoy weekend cruises.

Built in Dearborn, Michigan, the 1957 Ford Thunderbird marked the end of the pure two-seat era before the model evolved into a four-place grand tourer. The Thunderbird was purchased in 2006 with 84,000 miles and has been stored in climate control while being used for weekend enjoyment. Chesters Automative in Phoenix maintained the Thunderbird during that time period.

This Thunderbird is striking in its presentation with white paint, beautiful chrome accents and white wall tires. Finished in Colonial White, the paint is in excellent condition overall with the only cosmetic imperfections showing some light yellowing behind the tailfins. The chrome bumpers, trim, rock guards and fender skirts are in great condition. The passenger fenderskirt has one area that looks to have chipped when the fender skirt was reinstalled and has since been touched up. Wide whitewall tires on 14inch Ford-logo steel wheels present beautifully but will need to be replaced for long driving durations. The Thunderbird has its matching white hard top that is in great condition! This Thunderbird is a bright, beautiful white example that is perfect for enjoying local shows, regional tours or just to enjoy taking out to dinner.

The blue toned interior of this Thunderbird complements the white exterior and is in overall great condition! The interior features Dresden vinyl and Starmist vinyl upholstery, which presents in overall great condition with no major wear areas noted. The dashboard vinyl is in excellent condition, and the brushed metal interior trim is in good condition with some visible aging consistent with use. The original steering wheel has been wrapped, and the blue carpet is in overall great condition. Instrumentation includes a 140-mph speedometer, tachometer, clock, and auxiliary gauges. Dual cowl vents, a functional heater, and AM radio. The lens for the dashboard map light will be replaced once it arrives from being backordered. The interior is well sorted and in great condition to be enjoyed!

We at Classic Promenade often have the privilege to offer to the market many of the most important and finest motorcars in the world. Often these sales set world records because of the uniqueness of the car (such as the “Gatsby” Rolls) or the quality of the restoration.

Our recent Private Sale in June 2025 of the famous 1947 Bentley Mark VI Drophead Coupe by Franay was such an opportunity. This is the most important and valuable Post-War Bentley in the world. There is nothing that comes close to its spectacular design and execution. This will most likely always earn the Best in Class and/or Best of Show at almost any major concours event in the world.

HISTORY OF THE FRANAY BENTLEY: French industrialist Monsieur Gudol was committed to prove to the world that French art of designing and creating the most beautiful cars in the world was alive and well after World War II. He approached the Paris-based coachbuilder Carrossier Franay with the challenge of creating a concours winning show car from a 1947 Bentley Mark VI chassis. Chassis B20BH was sent to Franay specifically to be presented as the coachbuilders 1947 Paris Auto Show car. Subsequent to the Paris Auto Show, B20BH was shown and earned Best of Show awards at two major concours events at Enghien and Boulogne, becoming the first car to win a major concours event following the War.

In 1951, Monsieur Gudol returned the Bentley to Franay with the specific instructions to “spare no expense” to enhance and update the original design to create rolling sculpture. The coachbuilder updated its design and returned the Bentley to Bentley Motors, where it was upgraded with the latest R-Type 4.5-liter engine and dual exhaust. Remarkably, the Bentley Motors factory records reflect the engine upgrade and the stamping of the new engine with the original engine number, B10B (we have never seen this done before).

By 1955, the Bentley was acquired by owners in England and was later imported into the United States. Sergio Franchi, the famous opera singer and car collector as well as Lorin Tyron, the co-Chairman of the Pebble Beach Concours d’Elegance were among the owners of the Franay Bentley. In 1979, Gary Wales of Woodland Hills, CA acquired the Bentley from Mr. Tyron, and he commenced his efforts to fully document its history through nearly a decade of research and accumulation of photographs.

Mr. Wales impeccably restored the drivetrain and chassis to concours standards and while the body was being restored. He would frequently drive the Bentley, sans-coachwork, to car shows and concours events throughout Southern California. After a decade, the chassis and coachwork were reunited.

The Franay Bentley made its debut at the 1991 Pebble Beach Concours d’Elegance where it was exhibited in the Post-War European Custom Coachworks Class where it readily earned a Best in Class and won the coveted French Cup. It is published that the Franay Bentley nearly earned the Best of Show award, missing the title by 1/10th of a point.

Mr. Wales campaigned the Bentely around the world at the most prestigious concours events, accumulating over 50 major awards. Importantly, The Franay Bentley also won the Best of Show award at the Rolls-Royce Owners’ Club Annual Meeting in 1991 and then in 1999 earned the Top Senior Award of the Royce Memorial Trophy for the Best of Prior Best of Show Award. This Bentley has been featured on numerous TV programs, publications and even the distinguished Franklin Mint produced a 1:24th scale model of this Franay Bentley.

DESCRIPTION: The livery of the Franay is black with a mirror quality finish rarely seen. The sumptuous body design is highly sculptured, featuring fully skirted front and rear fenders and ample curlicue chrome accents making for an outrageously sexy and opulent presentation. It is obvious that Monsieur Gudol intentions for this Bentley were indeed fulfilled, this is one of the most unforgettable cars in the world and a true concours winner. The beautifully chromed split windscreen flows into the cowl and is an integral part of its design. Unusually, the black canvas convertible top is a desirable three-position cabriolet design with twin oval rear windows. Erecting or lowering the convertible top can be fulfilled in about one minute by two careful stewards. It is rare that one finds that a car looks as good (if not more menacing) with the convertible top up versus down. The twin spotlights blend into the entirety of the design as well as the triple driving and fog lights.

The paint, chrome and stainless-steel trim are all in superb condition with only very minimal signs of use, belying the 34 years since its restoration. The Franay Bentley can be exhibited at any important concours event worldwide and earn Best in Class and most likely Best of Show.

The stunning interior features beautiful burgundy leather complemented with delicate burgundy frog skins sourced from the Philippines and Haiti. The Burgundy Wilton wool carpeting is in as-new condition. The instrumentation is complete with a built-in integrated compass and a rare gradient gauge. The remaining instruments are the more familiar Smiths gauges, and the odometer reflects its original 50,000 miles (80,000 kilometers). Behind the front seat is a sideways single jump seat that is flanked with built in cabinets containing crystal decanters, silver flasks, shot glasses and stemware, as well as a clock. We like to imagine that the seat was for your private bartender and the clock to identify the five o’clock cocktail hour!

As one would expect, the venerable 4.5 liter straight six-cylinder engine, the four-speed manual transmission and the entirety of the drivetrain and chassis has been meticulously restored. Frankly, the restoration quality of the chassis and drivetrain is likely better than from the Bentley Motors factory when it was new. The engine is absolutely silent, reinforcing Bentleys tagline of being the Silent Sportscar. The finishes are largely in gloss black contrasted with white cadmium plating. The driving experience is incredible as you peer over the shapely hood and fenders. The suspension is silent and the car is devoid of any rattles or unwanted noises. Overall, mechanically, the Franay Bentley is a masterpiece.

The Franay Bentley comes complete with five storage bins of history, documentation, trophies and awards, as well as many accessories including matching frog skin ladies shoes and purse and more.

This excellently restored 1964 Aston Martin DB5, chassis DB5/1759/R, is an outstanding example of Aston Martin’s most iconic Post-War model. One of just 887 produced between 1963 and 1965, this DB5 combines elegant Carrozzeria Touring design with a well-documented, photo-detailed restoration. Finished in the quintessential Silver Birch over black Connolly leather, this DB5 retains its matching-numbers engine per the BMIHT certificate and features tasteful drivability upgrades, making this Aston Martin equally suited for local concours events or refined weekend drives.

Originally delivered in December 1964 through Plough Motors Ltd. in the UK, this example left the factory finished in Dubonnet Rosso with a Fawn interior and equipped with the desirable ZF five-speed gearbox. The provenance includes long-term custodianship in the UK, California, and Canada before undergoing a full restoration between 2013 and 2015 by St. Pierre Restorations of Surrey, British Columbia. The DB5 was converted to left-hand drive during its earlier ownership, at which time the engine was upgraded to 4.2 litres. More recently, a Toyota five-speed gearbox was installed using a Conversion Components Ltd. kit, offering smoother usability, though the original ZF gearbox was retained and accompanies the sale. Today, the odometer shows 78,800 total miles, with fewer than 4,000 miles since the last engine rebuild.

The exterior was taken down to bare metal during restoration and refinished in Silver Birch, a color forever associated with the DB5 following its cinematic debut in Goldfinger. The quality of the work remains excellent, with deep, consistent paintwork complemented by chrome wire wheels with three-eared knock-offs. The chrome trim is in excellent condition, and details such as faired-in headlights, a low-profile hood scoop, and triple-stacked taillights reflect the signature Touring design. The Aston Martin presents beautifully and would be a welcome addition in many collections!

Inside, the DB5 was retrimmed in Vaumol Connolly black leather, which remains supple and fresh throughout with light wear on the driver’s side piping. The reclining seats, woven black carpets, and interior trim are in excellent condition, showing minimal use since being restored. The wood-rimmed steering wheel frames a full suite of Smiths instrumentation, including a 180-mph speedometer, tachometer, and supporting gauges. The two-tone dash, AM radio, and center-mounted working analog clock underscore the car’s period-correct presentation, while the modernized gearbox and left-hand drive conversion provide a more usable driving experience without compromising authenticity.

Mechanically, this DB5 benefits from comprehensive work performed during restoration, including the rebuild of its upgraded numbers matching 4.2-litre DOHC inline six-cylinder engine with triple SU carburetors. Paired to the five-speed gearbox, the drivetrain delivers ample performance while maintaining reliability for regular use. Additional upgrades include a stainless-steel exhaust system, renewed suspension components, and overhauled disc brakes. With fewer than 4,000 miles since its rebuild and careful mechanical attention, this Aston Martin is ready to be enjoyed!

This DB5 has been shown at The Quail, A Motorsports Gathering, and was awarded the Chairman’s Choice Award at the Park Place Luxury & Supercar Showcase Collector’s Concours in 2019. DB5/1759/R is offered with it’s workshop and owner’s manuals, parts catalogue, tool roll, knock-off hammer, four spare discs for brakes, the original ZF transmission, BMIHT certificate, restoration photos and additional documentation.

“Nellie” is a beautifully restored award-winning 1925 Rolls-Royce Silver Ghost Springfield Oxford Touring bodied by Merrimac. Earning a class award at the 2024 Pebble Beach Concours and Best in Class at the 2023 Amelia Island Concours, this Silver Ghost can be enjoyed immediately on the show field or on CCCA CARavans or Silver Ghost tours. Nellie presents as being nearly perfect while being a perfect touring car for Silver Ghost tours worldwide. With a well-documented history since new and her RROC chronology since 1951, this is a true late Springfield Ghost featuring left hand steering, its original engine, and a gorgeous restoration performed by Competition Motors. The ownership history of this Ghost includes many of the marque’s top collectors. Finally, the drivetrain has been restored by top specialists in North America, including Frank Cooke and Steve Littin.

Ordered new by Mrs. Nellie A Cluett, whose family were the longtime owners of Arrow Shirts but was personally well known for the Grenfell Mission where she helped supply much needed food and supplies to missions along the east coast. Nellie’s Ghost was delivered new to her home in Troy, NY on May 15, 1926.

While Mrs. Cluett lived until 1959, by 1951 the Ghost was acquired by Alfred J. Meyer, Jr. of Plymouth, MA. Mr. Meyer and “Nellie” are included in the RROC Directories until 1971. By November of 1979, Nellie had become part of the esteemed Rick Carroll collection in Jensen Beach, FL.

By December of 1984, Nellie had become part of the incredible collection of Friendly Ice Cream founder Prestley Blake in Somers, CT. In 1991, Jacques Bambling of Easton, MA acquired her. Mr. Bambling was a professor at the University of Idaho and had collected many vintage photos of the Ghost. By September of 1998, S142ML had been acquired by Donald and Ann Hare of Rollinsford, NH. The Hare’s enjoyed Nellie for about 23 years and sold it in August of 2021.

Over the years Nellie has been restored and repainted many times. She has been completely and thoroughly restored, including the engine being rebuilt (Frank Cooke circa 2006), new radiator core, rewired, etc. Don and Anne had Nellie meticulously maintained and serviced until last year by the experts at Competition Motors in Plymouth, MA. Competition Motors extensively restored her for concours showing and touring including beautiful new paint, interior, upholstery, convertible top and extensive mechanical restoration.

The historical file for Nellie is very extensive. She is documented in Rolls-Royce in America by John DeCampi, in photos from Duke University in the 1950’s, a 1981 postcard from the Henry Austin Clark Museum, and in the Flying Lady from 1993, 2002 and 2004. She has participated in the RROC’s 2004 Sea to Shining Sea Tour and earned a National Second Place in the Concours Class at Williamsburg RROC Annual Meeting. Needless to say, Nellie has unquestionable provenance, is a proven tour veteran and is a concours award winner- a wonderful combination!

Her livery is a beautiful deep burgundy with black fenders and wire wheels. The paint is fantastic and in excellent condition. The brightwork is all nickel and in excellent polished condition that is ready for the concours field. The convertible top is perfect and is black on its exterior and tan for the headliner. Nellie has a trunk rack with a correct black leather trunk with a black canvas cover that is also in as-new condition. The overall condition of the exterior is nearly perfect in every regard, definitely a very high point restoration.

The drum headlights and cowl lights and tubular front and rear bumpers are all in excellent condition with their nickel finish. The iconic Rolls-Royce radiator grill shell, early-style horizontal grill slats and the Spirit of Ecstasy are all correctly finished in polished nickel.

The nickel-plated windshield is in two pieces, allowing for increased ventilation. The rear passengers benefit from a rear windshield that is also beautifully nickel plated and in excellent condition. Nellie looks terrific with the top up or down!! She comes equipped with a black canvas full interior tonneau cover and a second black canvas tonneau cover for just the rear passengers. These tonneau covers are great for tours and shows.

The interior features beautiful burgundy leather that is in as-new condition and is very soft and supple showing no wear. The carpets are a matching burgundy Wilton wool with burgundy leather binding. Nellie has two folding jump seats, allowing for up to seven passengers. The original wood grained dashboard is in very nice condition, with full instrumentation that are all in very nice cosmetic condition. All the instruments are functioning, including her Chelsea 8 Day clock, the Stewart Warner speedometer, US Gauge Co. fuel pressure and oil pressure gauges, Weston Electric Amperes gauge and her The Motometer Co. temperature gauge.

The numbers matching engine and engine compartment are absolutely gorgeous!! Power is provided by the venerable 7.4-liter L-head inline-six that is said to be rebuilt by Frank Cooke in about 2006 and is mated to a four-speed manual transmission. The combination of the polished brass, copper, aluminum, and black paint are stunning. The engine sounds great, and she runs and drives very well with excellent power. The brakes, suspension and chassis are all in excellent condition and we know of no mechanical issues at all. Cosmetically the chassis looks very nice and is well finished. The leather gaiters wrapping the springs all appear to be complete and in excellent condition.

For more information and details, please call or text Harry Clark at +1.602.245.7200 or email harry@classic.bz. This Silver Ghost is available for inspection in Phoenix. We are pleased to coordinate inspections, and we help coordinate shipping worldwide. We also have financing partners if you are interested in financing.

Lightweight, nimble, and utterly engaging, the 1963 Lotus 23B embodies designer Colin Chapman’s guiding principle to “simplify, then add lightness.” Built in Cheshunt, Hertfordshire, England, this mid-engine two-seater sports racer represents one of just 131 Type 23 and 23B examples produced. Weighing only 950 pounds and powered by a 1.6-liter Lotus-Ford Twin Cam engine producing approximately 135 horsepower, the Lotus 23B delivers an extraordinary balance of speed and agility. Presented here is chassis no. 23-S-97, a well-documented and race-proven California example that remains ready for competitive vintage events or curated motorsport collections.

Manufactured in 1963, this Lotus 23B spent its life in the hands of respected West Coast enthusiasts, including noted collector and vintage racer Steven Read. Read’s long-term ownership established its provenance through participation in premier historic racing venues, including the Monterey Historics in 2000 and subsequent Pre-Historics and Historics in 2006, 2007, and 2009, as well as the Wine Country Classic at Sonoma and races at Laguna Seca. The car’s next caretaker continued this active competition history, racing the Lotus at the Sonoma Historic Motorsports Festival, Laguna Seca, Road America, Blackhawk Farms, and Grattan Raceway. Maintained to professional standards by Collins Racing, with a major engine rebuild by Slade Engines in 2015, the car has since been used sparingly, totaling 64.5 recorded track hours and participated in just two events following its rebuild. The Lotus has been kept in a climate-controlled collection at the Autobahn Country Club in Joliet, Illinois, where it has been started and lapped periodically to maintain mechanical health.

The exterior presents in vivid Dark Blue, accented by a wide central white stripe and racing number “7,” immediately recognizable in the paddock and on track. The color-infused fiberglass body remains in excellent condition, with securely fitted panels over the lightweight spaceframe chassis. The Lotus’ bodywork design is both elegant and purposeful: large front and rear sections hinge open for full mechanical access, while the low-profile doors blend seamlessly with the wrap-around windscreen. A collection of historic race event decals on the windscreen and roll bar reflects the car’s active participation in significant motorsport gatherings, reinforcing its authenticity. Completing the period look are the distinctive 13-inch white Wobbly Web wheels, fitted with four lugs up front and six at the rear, true to Chapman’s original configuration.

Inside, the Lotus retains its original minimalist focus on function. The right-hand-drive cockpit features a single black carbon fiber racing bucket seat with a five-point harness alongside a dark blue upholstered passenger seat in period correct presentation, functional Smiths instrumentation, a Hobbs engine hour meter, and a right-mounted gear lever, all configured for balance and immediate feedback. The simplicity of the cockpit underscores the Lotus’ singular purpose: connecting driver to machine with no excess. Dual side mirrors and a three-point chrome roll bar with an integrated dark blue headrest provide both practicality and safety without detracting from the period-correct presentation.

Mechanically, the 23B remains an exceptional example of Chapman’s engineering brilliance. The 1.6-liter Lotus-Ford Twin Cam engine, fitted with Weber carburetors and rebuilt by Slade Engines in Salinas, California, produces approximately 135 horsepower, transmitted through a five-speed Hewland transaxle. The spaceframe chassis, engineered for lightness and rigidity, uses widened tubes to accommodate the increased torque of the upgraded engine. Suspension geometry features double wishbones, rack-and-pinion steering, and fully independent coil-spring setups, with Girling disc brakes at all four corners. The battery is new, but this Lotus will need new tires, new seatbelts and a fluid change before being ready to hit the track again. The car’s frame tubes serve as coolant and oil conduits, reducing plumbing weight and complexity. The result is a 950-pound machine with sharp reflexes and remarkable composure, capable of outperforming larger-displacement competitors on technical circuits.

Partial historical records and a soft car cover are included in the sale.

This 1926 Rolls-Royce Silver Ghost Doctor’s Coupe, chassis number S296PL, represents the final year of Silver Ghost production in Springfield, Massachusetts. One of only 1,701 Springfield examples built between 1921 and 1926, this remarkable automobile has undergone a full frame-off restoration to exacting factory standards. Finished in rich caramel and brown with a tobacco Connolly leather interior, this Silver Ghost embodies the essence of early Rolls-Royce craftsmanship and remains one of the most historically significant examples in existence, believed to be the only Springfield Silver Ghost Doctor’s Coupe in the world.

Built by Rolls-Royce of America at its Springfield, Massachusetts facility, the Silver Ghost was the model that established the marque’s reputation as “the best car in the world.” This example was originally bodied as a Pall Mall Tourer by Merrimack Body Company, though the current Doctor’s Coupe body by Hume of Boston was likely the winter coachwork added later. Delivered new in 1925 in California, chassis S296PL is believed to have been first owned by silent film legend Gloria Swanson, followed by noted hotelier D.M. Linnard, builder of the Fairmont and Ambassador Hotels. Subsequent owners include F.K. Burnham, M.C. Mogensen, and W.J. Hennessey of San Francisco. In 1977, the current owner acquired the car from the widow of Robert Atley, the Depot Engineer of the Springfield Rolls-Royce Factory, who had maintained and driven it for decades with his family in California.

Under the stewardship of the current owner, a longtime Concours judge for Rolls-Royce, Bentley, and Jaguar, the Silver Ghost underwent a highly documented frame-off restoration. At great expense, purported to be over $300,000 by the current owner, the work returned the car to exact original specification, including the fitted walnut cases and the complete picnic basket ensemble with original silverware, china, and crystal. The chassis was later exhibited as a display at the Blackhawk Behring Auto Museum, further affirming its authenticity and craftsmanship.

The exterior is finished in two-tone Caramel and Brown paint, displaying excellent gloss and detailing throughout. Dual covered side-mounted spares, leather strap-on mirrors, and a period-correct leather windshield visor add both form and function. The cream-painted wire wheels are fitted with newer 33×5 tires, while subtle accents such as the brass trim, detailed badging, and balanced proportions reinforce the visual grace that made the Silver Ghost an icon of its era.

The interior is upholstered in rich Tobacco Brown Connolly leather with Cognac Wilton wool carpeting, both in excellent condition. The left-hand-drive driver’s bucket seat and folding jump seat complement a half rear bench, creating an intimate yet practical cabin arrangement. A walnut burl dashboard features recalibrated brass-bezel gauges, and fitted walnut cabinetry completes the luxurious period presentation. This cabin is both a tactile and visual tribute to Springfield’s master craftsmen.

Power comes from the renowned 7,428 cc inline six-cylinder engine, producing 40/50 horsepower and paired with a three-speed manual transmission. With dual Bosch distributors and leaf spring suspension, the Silver Ghost was renowned for its smoothness and reliability, qualities that cemented Rolls-Royce’s reputation worldwide. This particular example remains a mechanically correct automobile, with a restored fuel system that has yet to be completed to working consistency. Included with the sale are its complete original tool set, historical documentation dating back to the 1920s, and the complete fitted picnic and service kits.

This Rolls is ready to be enjoyed either for touring or shown at local and regional car shows. LSFU223 is a well-equipped LHD US Delivery example with air conditioning, power steering, and electric windows. The Silver Cloud IIIs are a desirable model, being the last in their series, making them in high demand.

This Rolls was ordered new in 1964 by Mr. R C P Webster from Maitland, Ontario who was known for his mechanical engineering ingenuity with being instrumental in the first electric refrigerator. This Rolls was acquired by John W Blair in South Orange, New Jersey then stayed in South Orange when it was sold to Irwin Francis in 1977. Atilla Eagleman acquired this Rolls in 1994 and kept until 2003. Vantage Motors purchased the Rolls and completed the restoration. The present owner has enjoyed the Rolls since 2004. This Rolls has accumulated 91,000 miles from new.

LSFU223 was originally delivered with Black Pearl livery and was benefited from a color change during its restoration at Vantage Motors in North Miami. Bare metal, window out respray that is in beautiful overall condition today. The shine and luster of the Sand color is eye catching especially in the sunlight with only minimal chips in high use areas. The chrome and stainless-steel trim is in very good to excellent condition. The black pinstriping and America Classic bias ply wide white wall tires complement the Sand livery.

The overall condition of the interior is very good to excellent reflecting light patina reflecting normal use since the restoration was completed. The interior features the traditional Rolls-Royce burl walnut that has been refinished and is in excellent condition. The beige leather upholstery is in good condition with normal creasing with age and use, but it is without tears. There is front air conditioning and has been upgraded to a modern stereo system. The beige Wilton wool carpet has limited wear from normal use. This would make a wonderful modern classic driver that can be shown with pride.

The engine compartment is well detailed and has been maintained regularly with annual services performed by marque specialists. The venerable 6.23-liter V8 proved to be the longest produced V8 in automobile history. It has proven to be very robust, powerful and smooth. The four-speed Hydramatic transmission was rebuilt in 2022 by British Automative Works in Scottsdale, Arizona. The most recent service was performed in April 2025. This Rolls starts easily warm or cold with a drive feeling tight with no unwanted noises.

LSFU223 comes complete with most of the large and small tools, owner’s handbook, service records for the past two decades, the factory build sheets and ownership history.
