See inspection report, full photos, videos and more at classicpromenade.com.

We are proud to offer this beautifully restored 1964 Plymouth Sport Fury Convertible with a 488 CID Hemi. This build is truly a streeable, high performance, high horsepower Hemi car that drives like new. This car also comes with some original books and documentation, as well as a complete set of pre-restoration photos and paperwork.

The History and Restoration Process:
Purchased with only 43,000 original miles in Los Angeles in 2013, this Sport Fury was a west coast, rust free car from the start. Built by Jim Ballenger of Ballenger Power, this vehicle underwent a full restoration, having been stripped down to bare metal on all the upper surfaces and steam cleaned on all other surfaces before applying epoxy primer. This car has had frame connectors welded into the sub frames, not bolt on parts.

For more details on the motor, see section below.

The entire restoration took place on a rotisserie and painted top and bottom with the correct color PPG paint and clear coated. The floor, door panels and trunk floor were covered with Dyna Mat for sound and heat deadening. The interior is Legendary and has all new foam in the seats. The heater assembly was completely rebuilt but the car does have a small leak, and currently the water valve is plugged off in the necks on the water pump.

The roof mechanism is original with new hydraulics and works well. The suspension is a complete kit from Firm Feel and consisted of a rebuilt power steer box built to police specs, new torsion bars, new leaf springs, new front and rear sway bars, new upper control arms, reinforced lower control arms, 4 Bilsteen shock absorbers, and all new bushings and ball joints.

The Vehicle Today:
Since the completion of this restoration, this car has driven less than 3,000 miles. Mechanically it is in great condition, and comes complete with the ECU computer for diagnosing and tuning the performance of the car. Our mechanics at Classic Promenade gave this car a clean bill of health. The engine pulls strong, shifts are firm but confident, and it sounds amazing.

On the exterior, the Medium Blue Paint (12656) has depth and shines beautifully. The overall paint condition is very good. There are some minor etchings in the chrome and trim pieces, but they require a very sharp eye to spot. The underside of the car (see photos) is in equally nice condition, with very minimal signs of use and no rust. The convertible top is in great condition too, with no rips, tears, or discoloration. It opens and closes smoothly.

The interior is very nice, with new materials throughout. We did notice some scuff marks on the door sills, some exposed cushion material in the seats, and some wear on various touch points (dash switches, etc). However, this interior by and large is extremely presentable and well put together.

Overall this Sport Fury is a very cool, very powerful street car that can hold it’s own at the drag strip. We love the blue on blue, and the 4 speed manual make this the driver’s choice for someone looking to enjoy the vehicle and who wishes to show it.

This vehicle can be viewed at our Phoenix Showroom. For more information, please call, email or text Harry Clark at +1.623.404.9042 or sales@classicpromenade.com

More Engine & Mechanical Details:
The block is an early Chrysler reproduction cast by Cummings. The motor is bored to .030, the block was decked and the lifter bores were trued and bushed. The crank is a forged 440 source crank with a 4.25 stroke. The rods are Molner with ARP 2000 bolts. The pistons are Diamond with full lightning, moly coated skirts and ceramic coated domes with Total Seal rings.

The cam is a Comp roller that was spec’d out for fuel injection. The roller lifters are Comp sportsman that are bushed instead of having needle bearings. The push rods are Smith Bros. and the rocker arms are Mopar Performance roller tipped. The valve springs are Isky Tool Room with 550 lbs open pressure with steel retainers and lash caps.

The compression ratio is 10.5 to 1. The fuel injection is the fast 1.0 self-learning with dual throttle bodies. The air cleaner is a reproduction of the 64 race hemi air cleaner and costs $2,000. The oiling system consists of a Malodon external pickup, a high volume oil pump and a external oil feed line to the mains. The exhaust system is all TTI. The headers are 2 1/8″ ceramic coated with 3 inch mandrel bent exhaust with X pipe.

The clutch is a Mc Cloud dual disc. The transmission is the original 1964 but is full of 1970 Hemi gears. The drive shaft is a Victory custom shaft and should stand up well. The rear end is a Chrysler 8 3/4″ posi with a 3.91 ratio, and the axles are Strange SS.

This is a rare and beautifully restored PE Deluxe sedan. Every nut and bolt has been painstakingly brought back to very good to excellent condition. This is an example that can be shown proudly at any concours or regional show. It is not Best of Show caliber, but it is well done and likely one of the best extant.

On August 8, 1934, Walter P. Chrysler drove the one-millionth Plymouth off a Detroit assembly line. It was a 1934 Plymouth PE DeLuxe four-door sedan, much like the one offered here. It was then exhibited at the Century of Progress exposition in Chicago.

Introduced on July 11, 1928, Plymouth zoomed from nowhere to become the nation’s third best-selling make by 1931. Hydraulic brakes were standard right from the beginning. “Floating Power” engine mounts, giving the four-cylinder car “the smoothness of an eight” came on line for 1932. Plymouth’s first six appeared with the all-new 1933 models, while independent front suspension bowed a year later.

By 1934 the Depression had loosened its stranglehold on the economy a bit, and Plymouth sales rose 37 percent. A good product helped too, Plymouth urging buyers to “Look at All Three.” What they saw was a 22-model lineup starting at $485, compared to Chevrolet’s $465 and Ford’s $505.

The L-head inline six was enlarged to 201.3 cubic inches, and horsepower increased 10 percent to 77 hp. Wheelbase grew two inches on the PE series to 114 inches, two more than Chevrolet or Ford.

Some two-thirds of all Plymouths sold for 1934 were DeLuxes, with the five-passenger, 2,848-pound, four-door sedan the most popular by far. A bargain at $660, it took 108,407 of 321,171 total sales. These are very rare to see today. So many have been converted to customs or have been scrapped.

This totally restored Royal Blue beauty is complimented with gray broadcloth interior. Walter P. Chrysler would be proud of it. We love the artillery wheels and rear spare tire.

[tmm_video cover_image=”” cover_image_on_mobiles=”1″ width=”” height=”” sc_id=”sc1359265157759″]https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=f99NyWPIs0Y[/tmm_video]

Please review the photos and video carefully. The car is overall restored to a high level. The restoration was completed about 10 years ago. The paint is overall very good with only a few areas with light scratches that are noticeable only upon close inspection. The chrome and trim are overall in very nice condition. Most of the rubber seals have been replaced and are excellent. The interior is gorgeous. Only a few odds and ends need very minor attention. Mechanically the car runs and stops well. It has been used locally on a regular basis, only accumulating a couple hundred miles over the last few years. There are no known mechanical issues. The glass is all new.

The PE comes with over 100 spare parts that are in a number of boxes. We can send you a list of the parts included in the sale. Keep them with the car or take them to Hershey!!

Overall this is an excellent value. All of the expense has been made to make this one of the best PE Deluxe sedans available. And the price is only a fraction of what it costs to restore. For more information please contact Harry Clark at +1.623.404.9042 or email us at sales@classicpromenade.com.

REDUCED $20,000 for Quick Sale!! $125k Restoration!

This is a full rotisserie restoration of a 59,000 mile 440 6-Pack car that was originally bought from Cal Worthington Chrysler Dodge Plymouth in Long Beach, California and was optioned as you see it today: In Plum Crazy purple livery, white interior, 440 6-Pack and factory four speed manual transmission. What could be better?

Dave Witter bought the Road Runner on December 15, 1969. It was a car that was returned to the Cal Worthington after another couple decided they wanted an automatic GTX rather than a 4-speed car! They accumulated about 158 miles on the car over their three day ownership! Dave Witter then bought it as a returning serviceman in the military. He paid $2,936 for it and later drove it home to rural Missouri. He kept the Road Runner for 37 years!!

After 37 years of ownership Dave sold his Road Runner to our consignment client Jim from Yucaipa, California. Jim set out on a complete and thorough restoration of every component of the car by using a rotisserie and all local expert resources. The details of the restoration include:

-Complete rebuild of the factory warranty replacement block (correct 1970 440 block without numbers) with a NOS crank, rods and pistons, hardened value seats, manly valves and springs. Jim installed a Mopar Performance purple shaft cam (484 lift) that helps the Road Runner produce 475 hp and 435 ft lbs of torque. It has an Edelbrock intake and three Holly carbs as it was originally equipped. It is now equipped with headers and a 2.5″ exhaust.

-3:54 posi rear-end was rebuilt with all new components by Curry Enterprises and the original Hemi 18 spline 4-speed transmission was fully rebuilt with new gears and shafts.

-The brakes, front end, radiator and fuel tank are all new and rebuilt and the wiring is all new from M&H.

-The paint was done by Mike Face in San Bernardino using Sherwin Williams two stage paint and, again, using a full rotisserie. The correct white interior is all new from Legendary interior. The glass was also fully replaced. The bumpers are the original bumpers with new triple chrome plating.

This is an excellent example to add to your collection. This Road Runner can be shown in competitive events or to race for pinkslips!! This is a two owner, original California car that has a terrific history and wonderful restoration. For more information please contact Harry Clark at 602.245.7200 or email us at sales@classicpromenade.com.

This is an amazing survivor. This is a 1930 Plymouth Model 30-U built in Detroit in the first half of May, 1930. Since then it has travelled under 49,800 miles and has been owned by two families for over 80 years!! It retains all of its originality with one repaint done decades ago.

On June 6, 1930, Mr. Art Waterman of Blue Hill Nebraska bought this Plymouth for $750. He borrowed $50 from Commercial Bank, traded in his old Ford and had saved $600 in cash for the occasion. He loved his old Plymouth. He kept it for the next 42 years until he sold it to Bob Kreuger of Ayr, Nebraska six miles up the road.

Mr. Kreuger paid the princely sum of $400 for the car. That was on July 20, 1972.

About 25 years later Mr. Kreuger’s son inherited the Plymouth and he owns it today. All this is documented, including the series of gas rationing stamps and certifications necessary during the early 1930’s, that are still on this cars windshield. There are even registration documents dating from 1945.

The US was in the height of the depression and Plymouth only offered this one model in several body styles. All were offered on a 109 inch wheelbase chassis with a 196.1 cubic inch four cylinder engine offering 48 HP and 120 ft. lbs. of torque.

This offering is in amazing original condition. The original mohair upholstery shows patina and has several areas of wear, but it looks, smells and feels just right. It appears to have been repainted; likely the repaint was performed in the 1960’s. It is a cheap re-paint but it too looks right. This car has never had rust or accidents. It has been important to its owners all its life and has been treated with respect.

The entire car just seems so original and of the depression era it screams to us to take it out and show it off! This is an important part of American history, when times were tough and people were blessed not to be in a bread line!

The engine runs well but is noisy. It has been like this for at least the past 40 years. We recently serviced the Auto-Vac and exhaust manifold gasket. But a full service and new tires would benefit the car greatly and help to make it very road worthy.

This is a great old car.
