Priced to Sell! This MG TC is a matching numbers example, excellent restoration and has been fully mechanically restored in 2020. The MG is powered by a 1,250cc inline-four engine paired with a four-speed manual transmission and finished in Rally Green over tan leather. The MG offers an authentic vintage motoring experience with right-hand-drive configuration and classic styling cues. This MG is showing 12,800 miles with only 1,700 miles since the engine rebuild. This MG is in excellent overall condition, is priced to sell, and is ready for scenic touring, vintage rallies, and enthusiast events.

1948 MG TC represents one of the most influential post-war British sports cars, a lightweight two-seat roadster that helped ignite the American fascination with European sports cars. This MG was built on November 11, 1948 at the MG works in Abingdon-on-Thames according to factory records maintained by the MG Car Club. The MG was originally delivered in Great Britain and is rumored to have been owned by a Swiss film industry executive who later shipped the roadster to Boca Raton, Florida for seasonal driving. Under current ownership, the MG has received servicing by the specialist shop, From The Frame Up in Mesa AZ. The servicing spanned from 2019 to 2021 which included a full engine rebuild, gearbox servicing, electrical replacements, brakes, suspension and alignment, fuel sending, air filter, cooling, rear differential, dash components, and paint touch-ups. A new convertible top and tonneau cover were installed. This MG has been overhauled and is ready to be enjoyed!

The MG is finished in Rally Green that is in excellent condition, complemented by sweeping fenders and the TC’s distinctive upright grille. Chrome trim including the grille surround and lighting bezels is in excellent condition, and the MG is fitted with the rare aftermarket Midge radiator mascot produced by HJ Randall. The MG has a flat folding windscreen, horn, headlights, parking lamps, fog light, windshield wipers and dual rear-view mirrors that are all in good working condition. The rubber trim and seals through the exterior are in great condition. A tan convertible top and tonneau cover installed in 2021 are in excellent condition, and optional side curtains are included. The MG rides on 19-inch wire wheels that were installed in 2019 and used less than 2,000 miles, with a rear-mounted spare with MG three-eared knock-off hub. Badge bars carry Royal Automobile Club, Great Britain, and Swiss insignia, and the original British license plate GVE 656 remains affixed to the front. The MG presents in excellent condition and will be appreciated by enthusiasts!

The MG interior is in overall excellent condition reflecting the compact and purposeful cockpit typical of the TC series. The interior is trimmed in tan leather that presents in excellent condition with minimal signs of normal use. Gray short-pile carpeting remains in very good condition and complements the traditional tan textured dashboard. The dashboard includes two map lights and has backlite instrument gauges. A four-spoke banjo-style steering wheel frames the original Jaeger instrumentation, maintaining the period-correct driving environment that enthusiasts appreciate. Tan leather door panels with storage pockets provide modest practicality within the intimate two-seat configuration.

This MG is powered by the original rebuilt 1,250cc inline-four engine (engine number XPAG 7944) paired with a four-speed manual transmission and four-wheel drum brakes. The MG is powered by a 12v system with generator. The mechanical work done on the MG between 2019 and 2021 totaled over $46,000 from documented invoices. The work includes the following: full engine rebuilding with heads, seals, gaskets, valve seats and bearings, clutch pressure plate and throw out bearing replacement, gearbox pinion housing replacement, distributor replacement water pump replacement, radiator shroud and fan replaced, air filter assembly installation, fuel sending unit float replacement, steering serviced, suspension rebuilt/aligned with tie rods, bearings and seals, brake master cylinder and brake lines, brake drums replaced, tires replaced, rear differential serviced including gaskets, repaired gas tank, dash components cleaned and restored, install sealed beam halogen headlights. The last annual service was performed in December 2024 at 12,600 miles.

The sale includes a clean Arizona title, owner’s manuals, historical and maintenance documentation, side curtains and custom side curtain storage bag.

The 1949 MG TC represents the definitive post-war British sports car, admired for its lively 1,250 cc inline-four engine, four-speed manual gearbox, and unmistakable open-top profile with sweeping fenders and wire wheels. This MG TC presents in Rally Green with excellent gloss and luster, featuring right-hand drive and impressive originality throughout. The MG is ideally suited for weekend drives, relaxed touring, and local or regional shows where the model’s historical significance is always well received.

The final-year MG TC offered here is a US-export example that displays just 569 actual miles, believed to have accumulated since restoration. The MG was purchased by the current owner in February 2025 at auction, and although he appreciated the driving character, the seating area proved too limited for his 6-plus-foot frame. The MG runs well, has been enjoyed sparingly, and remains ready for continued light use, exhibition, and vintage rally eligibility.

The exterior of the MG is finished in Rally Green with excellent depth and clarity, complemented by chrome wire wheels with knock-off hubs, a rear-mounted spare, dual side mirrors, and a chrome badge bar fitted with a driving lamp and horn. The MG retains its classic proportions and original panel alignment, and the tan folding top with wood frame remains in very good condition. The four 4.5-19 tires retain adequate tread but show slight cracking along the sidewalls. Overall, the presentation is authentic, period-correct, and visually compelling.

The interior of the MG features right-hand drive and a four-spoke steering wheel framing a tan dash panel with the correct 100-mph speedometer, tachometer, ammeter, and proper auxiliary controls. The tan leather split bench shows light creasing from careful use, and matching leather extends across the door panels and storage pockets. Black cut-pile carpeting remains in very good to excellent condition, and the floor-mounted shifter underscores the MG’s purposeful sporting layout. The interior reflects careful preservation, retaining the charm that defines the model’s appeal.

The MG is powered by its original 1,250 cc inline-four engine producing approximately 54 horsepower, paired with a four-speed manual transmission and four-wheel drum brakes. Chassis number XPAG7150 runs exceptionally well, pulling strongly with no smoke and shifting cleanly through the gearbox. The engine compartment is beautifully detailed and presents to a standard consistent with the remainder of the MG. The electrical system is 12-volt, and overall mechanical condition supports reliable weekend use. The MG is accompanied by its spare tool set, tan canvas tonneau cover, and tan phaeton top with plastic windows, all in excellent condition.

For more information and details, please call or text Kendi Brown at +1.623.404.9042 or email us at sales@classicpromenade.com.

This is a nicely restored 1949 MG TC roadster that is an excellent driving example that’s ready for local tours or shows. This is a rare matching numbers car from the last full year of the TC. This MG benefited from a complete mechanical and cosmetic restoration and is in gorgeous condition today. The car is a US export model (not built for the UK market) as it has the original headlight lenses and the other features unique to the US version.

This MG TC was built on the 23rd of February 1949 for the US market. By about 1995, Marion McCleary of Naples, FL acquired the TC. They enjoyed the MG for the next 28 years. We are in the process of documenting the earlier history of the TC.

We love the classic look of the Racing Green exterior paint complemented with the silver powder coated wire wheels with MG knock off hubs. The paint is in overall very nice show condition. The tan Haartz cloth canvas top and tonneau cover look stunning with the Racing Green paint. This TC features side wind deflectors, dual side mirrors and the power windshield wipers. The chrome is in overall very good to excellent condition. The mascot is a Boyce MotoMeter and in the front is a chrome badge bar, a driving light and a horn. In the rear is a chrome luggage rack (which is very practical) above the rear mounted spare and two larger taillights and an auxiliary third center brake light. This MG has been upgraded for safe touring use.

The interior is also very nice, with its soft and supple biscuit leather seating and door panels. The black carpeting is newer as well and is in good condition. The MG steering wheel feels great in your hands and the instruments work. The clock is not working (after being rebuilt in 2015).

Mechanically, this MG needs nothing to be enjoyed. The matching numbers XPAG inline-four engine displaces 1,250 cc has dual-SU carburetors and is paired with a four-speed manual gearbox and benefits from the TCs rubber motor mounts. It has an excellent running engine that pulls strong and doesn’t emit smoke and it shifts well through the gearbox. There are no unwanted driveline noises, and it looks great on a lift with its rust and damage free chassis that has been nicely painted and detailed underneath. The engine compartment is beautifully detailed. It rides on Dunlop tires mounted on powered coated wire wheels with chrome MG-branded “dog ear” knock-off spinners with a full spare mounted at the rear. The MG has benefited from the installation of a new fabric covered wiring harness.

We have this MG priced fairly under the Hagerty Price Guide No. 2, which fits perfectly with this offering. This MG comes complete with many historical documents, two tonneau covers, MG branded car cover, Owner’s Manual, Parts Manual, Tools, Jack and Spares. This TC does not have its side curtains (which never get used these days).

For more information and details, please call or text Harry Clark at +1.623.404.9042 or email us at sales@classicpromenade.com. This MG TC is available for inspection at our Phoenix showroom. We are pleased to offer FaceTime or WhatsApp live video inspections and we help coordinate shipping worldwide. We also have financing partners if you are interested in financing.

SOLD via private treaty! This is a beautifully restored 1949 MG TC that has been enhanced with several upgrades including a Shorrock supercharger and hill climb competition cycle fenders (Sterling Moss raced with similar Shorrock superchargers back in the day!).

This TC Special was built on August 8th, 1949 and remained in England most of its life. We have a huge stack of 50 years of receipts from the UK dating back to about 1974. This MG was fully restored in England in 2000 and its last MOT was from 2009. It has been in the US since about 2013.

The body and paint are in excellent condition with a few touch up scratches from normal use. The creme and olive green livery looks stunning and the chrome is overall very nice. This is well accessorized with badge bars and badges, a tonneau cover and black canvas top. The MG has two windshields, the normal rectangular windscreen and the aero racing wind screens. Each of the windshields fold down to make it a true rally or hill climb racer. We love the “Mig”, the ominous hood ornament embellishing the front of the TC.

We love the apple green leather and carpeting. The wood dash has full instrumentation and is ready for use!! A period correct Jaeger water temperature gauge and a discreet turn signal switch have been added to the dash fascia.

For more information and details, call or text Harry Clark at +1.623.404.9042 or email us at sales@classicpromenade.com. The MG TC is available for viewing in our Phoenix showroom.

SOLD to California!! This is an older restoration of a 1947 MG TC roadster that is an excellent driving example that’s ready for local shows. This is a rare matching numbers car from the first year of the TC, with an early chassis number under 2000. This MG benefited from a complete restoration in 1976 by Jack Deren from Pennsylvania, including a complete engine overhaul. By 2006 it had been refurbished by the New England Classic Car Company, including a new set of lightweight alloy brake drums and a beautiful detailing of the engine bay and the chassis/suspension. The car is an English import (not built for the U.S.) as it has the original U shaped 8” headlight lenses and the original 30 mph warning light on the dash which are unique to the British version.

We love the classic look of the Racing Green exterior paint complimented with the chrome wire wheels with knock off hubs. The paint is in overall nice condition with some lacquer cracking occurring , but mainly noticeable on the passengers side front fender. It is not seen from a few feet away. The Haartz cloth canvas top, top boot and side curtains look stunning with the Racing Green paint. While the top is new, the side curtains and top boot show average wear and are in good condition. The chrome is in overall good condition with the normal scratches from use. The front has a badge bar and a couple of badges as well as a fog light and a horn mounted.

The interior is also very nice, with its soft and supple biscuit leather seating and door panels. The black carpeting is newer as well and is in good condition.
The new wood dash is also in nice condition with all the instruments operating as they should.

Mechanically, this MG needs nothing to be enjoyed. It has an excellent running engine that pulls strong and doesn’t emit smoke and it shifts well through the gearbox. There are no unwanted driveline noises and it looks great on a lift with its rust and damage free chassis that has been nicely painted and detailed underneath. The MG has benefited from the installation of a new fabric covered wiring harness with all working instruments and lights. Recent mechanical service includes the installation of a new fuel pump, master cylinder, rear slave cylinder, and new carburetors.

We have this MG priced fairly between the Hagerty Price Guide No. 2 and No. 3 value, which fits perfectly with this offering.

This MG is ready for viewing at our Phoenix showroom and comes with a nice collection of books related to the car. For more details and information please call or text Harry Clark at +1.623.404.9042 or email us at sales@classicpromenade.com.
