Finished in Gold Glamour Metallic with Ginger leather bucket seats and a power black convertible top, this Cougar is in overall great condition! With its uncommon drivetrain specification, believed original mileage, and well optioned factory equipment, this Cougar is a wonderful find for Ford enthusiasts!

The Cougar XR-7 Cobra Jet occupied a unique place in the early 1970s performance market by combining the long-hood styling and luxury appointments Mercury was known for with genuine factory muscle car hardware. The XR-7 Cobra Jet delivered performance and luxury in one package, which is exactly why low-production examples like this factory four-speed convertible have become increasingly respected among collectors. This Cougar is a Dearborn-built XR-7 convertible originally equipped with the Q-code 351 Cobra Jet V8. The Marti Report shows a scheduled build date of April 3, 1973, finished in Gold Glamour Metallic with Ginger Leather interior and a black power convertible top.
The exterior of this Cougar is in overall great condition, and the Gold Glamour Metallic paint shows good luster and shine throughout. There are some areas showing age and use. Chrome bumpers, grille trim, wheel moldings, and exterior brightwork are in excellent condition. The black power convertible top is in excellent condition. The headlights, fog lights, turn signals, reverse lights and windshield wipers are in working condition. The Cougar has dual side mirrors, antenna, Ginger leather boot cover, BF Goodrich radial tires and steel wheels. This Cougar is beautiful in the color combination and ready to drive condition!

This is a well restored and rust free 1954 Mercury Monterrey Coupe that is ready for local shows and tours. This is a very nice quality restoration of a very solid and rust-free example. The color combination is quite stunning and really harkens back to the fifty’s.

This Mercury has benefited from a quality repaint in its original Bittersweet (Paint Code 17 C). The quality of the paint is quite nice and is complimented with tons of polished stainless steel trim and an abundance of beautifully refinished chrome. The cost of the chrome alone must have exceeded $15,000. The chrome also has beautifully restored enameled badges that really finish off the cosmetics well.

The interior is finished in two-tone Bittersweet and off-white vinyl with matching headliner and black carpeting. The quality of the interior finish is very nice and consistent in all respects with the rest of the car. We love the simplicity of the dashboard.

The engine compartment is also very well detailed and is ready for local car shows. The 256 CID V-8 is rated at 161 HP and when paired with the three-speed manual transmission is a good performer. The Merc flew through our inspection and is ready to be enjoyed in all respects.

This Mercury is available for inspection at our Phoenix showroom. For more information and details call or text Harry Clark at +1.623.404.9042 or email us at sales@classicpromenade.com.
