This is a very rare 1914 Hudson Six-54 Phaeton that benefitted from an older restoration that looks fantastic today. This Six-54 has decades of touring experience and drives wonderfully today. The Hudson Six-54 is an impressive early automobile that is powerful and advanced for its time.

“The New Ideal of a Distinguished Car,” Model Six-54 represents the Hudson Motor Car Company’s largest and most prestigious offering ever. While the firm would produce other grand models, notably during the Classic Era, the Six-54 was a true luxury car for its time, with a 135-inch-wheelbase chassis and a 421-cubic-inch inline six-cylinder engine, cast in pairs, with a self-starter, and producing 55 horsepower—sufficient, it is said, for a top speed of 70 mph. Further, the Six-54 was Hudson’s first left-hand-drive model.

This has been part of several important collections, including Walter Millers. Writing of his Hudson in 2019, a year after purchasing it, the late Walter Miller commented, “I have admired the Six-54 for many years and jumped at the chance to acquire one. This car is fully restored, luckily well-documented going back many years and was previously owned by several well-known early antique car collectors, including some in New York State.” While that documentation has yet to be uncovered at the time of cataloging, the car does retain a plaque from the 1964 Texas Tour in Kerrville, hosted by the Alamo City Horseless Carriage Club, as well as a second identifying its owner at the time, Don McKay.

A very nice older restoration, the car is finished in the correct black and blue two-tone livery for the model, with an interior that almost certainly dates to more recent decades; it remains in well-preserved condition for touring. Wooden artillery wheels, finished in cream with black striping, add a jaunty accent, with a pair of spare tires hung off the driver’s side. The car retains a Carter carburetor, Delco lighting system, and Stewart combination odometer/speedometer, as well as a Hudson-badged Waltham clock, Spartan electric horn, and Hudson “Six” Moto-meter. A small luggage trunk at the rear is best suited for containing the jack and crank handle, which it does to this day. An original Hudson service manual also accompanies.

Any collection of big and powerful early cars really demands a Hudson Six-54, perhaps the grandest automobile that the company ever built, and a machine that can hold its own on Brass Era tours against the likes of Peerless, Locomobile, and Pierce-Arrow.

This Hudson comes complete with tools, jack, a convertible top boot cover, the original carburetor and many spare parts. Also included are parts and owner’s manuals.

For more information and details, please call or text Harry Clark at +1.623.404.9042 or email us at sales@classicpromenade.com. This Hudson Six-54 is available for inspection at our showroom in Phoenix. We are pleased to coordinate inspections, and we help coordinate shipping worldwide.

This is likely the nicest 1942 Hudson Super Six Deluxe Convertible in the world, after benefitting from a complete body-off restoration by the marque experts at 21st Century Hudson performed from 2016 through 2017. This is considered to be one of only three Super Six convertibles known extant. It is now presented beautifully and ready to add to any collection of American convertibles.

This Hudson was completed in Pageant Green livery with loads of NOS trim pieces and beautifully finished chrome. The paint is in show condition being fully polished for concours. The owner of 21st Century Hudson, Russ Maas, restored this for himself. He used his cache of NOS parts to ensure that this example would be the very best. The power tan Stayfast cloth convertible top with maroon piping and was installed by Twin City Upholstery in Bloomington, IL.

The interior was also done by Twin City Upholstery in a beautiful saddle leather. The dashboard has a gorgeous faux woodgraining that looks perfect with the compliment of art deco design instrumentation. The interior, much like the rest of the Hudson, looks as-new. We love the gray NOS steering wheel and the very cool delicate horn trim pieces. Most of the trim was a one-year only, very rare and impossible to find.

The engine compartment is beautifully detailed. The 212 CID Power Dome 6-cylinder engine was rated at 102 hp and it has a three-speed manual transmission with overdrive. The engine was rebuilt by Hudson legend Randy Maas and the transmission and overdrive were rebuilt by the 50-year Hudson Club member Al Saffrahn from Maricopa, AZ. The Hudson performs well and the overdrive works great, increasing fuel economy, engine life and top speeds by up to 28%.

The chassis has been completely restored as well. The photos show the chassis with some mud splatter which we will attempt to clean for new photos. But it is clear that this was a complete body-off restoration and nothing was left wanting.

This Hudson was discovered in Utah in 1976 by Hudson Club member Gary Eisenberg of Fort Collins, CO. Gary enjoyed the Hudson until 2015, when it was purchased by Russ Maas of 21st Century Hudson. The Hudson comes with a compliment of Owner’s Manuals and other documentation.

For more information and details, please call, text or email Harry Clark at +1.623.404.9042 or sales@classicpromenade.com. The Super Six is available for inspection at our Phoenix showroom.

This car was featured in a multiple page article in the April 2010 edition of Collectible Automobile magazine and well known to likely be the best in existence. This has been well restored while keeping as many original features as possible.

This motorcar has most all of the rarest options including the powerful 320 cu in Packard V-8, Ultramatic automatic transmission, Continental rear spare kit, radio, Weather Eye hearing and air conditioning, reclining seats/beds, power steering and power windows.

This was bought by my mentor Dick Benjamin in 1985 having accumulated about 70,000 miles. The motorcar came from South Dakota and was in all original preserved condition. After restoring the car he and his wife participated on numerous car tours throughout the country. The “Hash” now has 91,750 miles.

One of about 1,700 made this was the top-of-the-line model for the new American Motors Corporation. This is a rare opportunity to obtain an exceptionally limited production model that has a low survivor rate. In addition, this is likely the nicest in existence and is now a California “blue plate” motorcar. This would be an important addition to a collection of American motorcars at a fraction of the cost to restore one- if you could find an unrestored example.

We will be taking full detailed photos and video in the upcoming weeks as we fully service it in preparation for sale. For further details please call Harry at 602.245.7200 or email us at sales@classicpromenade.com.
