According to the data plate, this Thunderbird was built as an E-Code car with Body 40, Color GG Sun Gold, Trim XK, X-code automatic transmission, and Axle 2. The Thunderbird is one of 1,331 E-Code examples produced in 1957 and is stated to be one of 7 finished in Sun Gold.  

The exterior is in excellent condition, with Sun Gold exterior from the body-off restoration, matching Sun Gold hard top and with a brown soft top. The exterior shows only a few cosmetic marks from expected normal use. The chrome is in excellent condition throughout, including the front bumper, hood scoop trim, fender vents, windshield surround, mirrors, door handles, and rear bumper. The headlights, fog lights, taillights, turn signals, and windshield wipers are all in working condition. The Thunderbird is fitted with wire wheels with Firestone whitewall tires. The brown soft top and matching Sun Gold colored hard top with portholes are in overall great condition. This Thunderbird is ready to make a big impression on the road or at enthusiast events! 

The interior is finished in tan vinyl and is in overall great condition, with an excellent headliner and excellent black carpet showing no visible wear. The dashboard and engine-turned trim are in excellent condition with no visible scratches from use. The Thunderbird gauges include the speedometer, tachometer, fuel, and temperature. There are power windows, AM/FM radio, fan driven air, heat and defrost.  Noted items include discoloration along the armrests, separation at the piping seam on the driver-side seat and cracks in the steering wheel. The interior of this Ebird complements the Sun Gold and is ready to be enjoyed! 

This Thunderbird shows off its high-performance options and is an absolute blast to drive! The 312ci V8 is equipped with an Edelbrock four-barrel carburetor and paired with an automatic transmission with 3.10 rear differential. The Ebird has power steering and power brakes. The engine was rebuilt in 2014 with approximately 2,000 miles since completion. The engine casting code ECZ 6015A is present on the driver-side of the block. The original dual four-barrel carburetors and intake manifold are included with the Thunderbird. The battery was replaced in January 2026.

The livery is stunning in Coral Sand (Paint Code ZZ) with a white convertible top and is complemented by the wire wheels and wide white walled BF Goodrich tires. The paint quality is absolutely concours ready.  The paint is beautifully polished with excellent shine and luster.  Additional exterior accessories include an as-new white vinyl convertible soft top, drivers and passenger side mirrors, rear fender skirts with stainless steel stone guards.  The 14-inch chrome wire wheels wear Thunderbird-logoed turbine-style covers.  A full-size spare wheel and jack are stored in the trunk.  The exterior is in concours ready condition.

The interior features a bench seat upholstered in pleated Colonial white vinyl (Trim Code XK) joined by matching white door panels and dashboard, and black carpets.  The interior is in concours ready condition.  Additional amenities include a heater, power windows, power seats, and a push-button Town and Country AM radio, lap belts for both occupants, engine-turned aluminum trim, and a floor-mounted gear selector.  The white factory three-spoke steering wheel features a chrome horn ring and fronts a 140-mph speedometer, 5k-rpm tachometer, a clock, and auxiliary gauges indicating coolant temperature and fuel level. The five-digit odometer shows 75,160 miles, which are presumed the total mileage from new.  All the instrumentation works well except the clock.

The engine compartment, suspension and chassis are all as new and in detailed concours condition.  The E-Code option 312ci V8 is equipped with dual four-barrel Holly carburetors, an aluminum intake manifold, a high-performance camshaft and was factory rated at 272 horsepower and 338 ft. lbs. of torque. Additional features include the finned Thunderbird valve covers and a chromed air cleaner housing.  Power is sent to the rear wheels through a three-speed Ford-O-Matic automatic transmission equipped with overdrive.  The Thunderbird starts up easily when cold and drives beautifully.  The power steering makes it easy to steer.  There is an auxiliary electric fuel pump for vapor lock or priming purposes.

This Thunderbird comes with a detailed photos documenting the comprehensive restoration.  According to the JD Power NADA Value, the average sales value is over $100,000.  We have this priced to sell.
