PRICE REDUCED!! This is quite possibly the nicest restored 1939 Ford Coupe in existence. This has won the coveted Dearborn Award and has scored 998 points, proving the quality of the restoration. It has been cared for by a significant collector of classics, leaving it in nearly perfect condition today. We love the beautiful lines and stylings of this gorgeous coupe.

This was a longtime one family owned since new Ford that for decades was desired by renowned restorer, Lloyd Duzell. The family was from Northern Illinois and this coupe was kept to exceptionally high standards. Although Mr. Duzell was highly regarded for his Pebble Beach restorations of CCCA classics, he was a true Ford enthusiast. After decades of pursuing this coupe, Lloyd was finally able to acquire her. He then set out to apply the same fanatical quality of restoration to this simple 1939 Ford Coupe. It was Lloyd’s intent to restore a model that was as austere and practically equipped as it was when new. And the results are spectacular!

This 1939 Ford Standard Coupe was judged with a near perfect score of 998 points at the 2014 Illinois Concourse Division of the Early Ford V8 Club. It has travelled 987 miles since its restoration and has been fastidiously maintained and driven short distances with regularity.

The Blue livery is absolutely gorgeous, as to be expected from a Lloyd Duzell restoration. The livery is its original and correct factory color. All of the chrome and stainless-steel trim have been restored and are concours quality. Every exterior detail is nearly flawless.

The Beige upholstery was also fully restored and is in as-new condition. The floor mats, beautiful wood grain dash, steering wheel and all controls are in show condition. There is one small chip on the dashboard, otherwise the interior looks better than showroom new.

This Standard Coupe sports a V-8 Model 221 cid Flathead motor. She produces 85 hp at 3,800 rpm. The power is transmitted through 3-speed manual transmission. She’s capable of reaching speeds near 120 mph! The engine shows its original engine numbers as from the factory. The engine compartment is exceptionally detailed and shows beautifully. The chassis is also very well detailed and restored and is in overall exceptional condition.

This is an extremely rare opportunity to purchase a true show quality American automobile icon. This is without question the best example mechanically, cosmetically and authentically speaking that a collector will likely find. The Hagerty Value for a No. 1 example for Deluxe Coupe is $82,000. We have this priced to sell.

For more information and details, please call, text or email Harry Clark at +1.623.404.9042 or sales@classicpromenade.com. This 1939 Ford Coupe is available for inspection at our Phoenix showroom.

This is a nice older restoration of a completely rust-free example of the 1941 Ford Station Wagon, Wood Deluxe that has been in San Diego for many years. Whether you are into showing or just driving classics, this is one to consider.

We are selling this on behalf of an estate for the long-time former owner. The car, with little effort, would make a very nice tour car that would be welcome in most all shows and concours events.

Cosmetically, this Ford Woodie looks very sharp! The maroon paint is nice for touring and local shows, as are the interior and much of the wood. The chrome is good to very good. The glass is very nice.

The interior is very nice. The tan upholstery is in excellent condition overall, although the incorrect carpet should be replaced.

The engine sounds excellent and is very strong with good performance, running cool and strong oil pressure. We noticed that the crankshaft has a little movement in it upon acceleration. The transmission is excellent.

The electronics work well, except the fuel gauge. The windshield wipers are not functioning.

It has all new brakes, including the master, wheel cylinders, etc. A full tune up including ignition wires, plugs, points, etc. was performed and a full service, as well. She runs beautifully!

The chassis is completely free of rust and has not been restored or detailed. There are no patches or issues with this woodie. It shows that this is a rock solid, honest woodie. The two front doors both have wood rot making opening and closing the doors difficult, and will need immediate attention.

The front shock mounts are broken, which is a common issue with the Deluxe models. The exhaust system is in good shape. The tires are wide white wall radials and are fine. The radiator would benefit from a full cleaning. There is an auxiliary overflow reservoir for the coolant that is mounted too low to be as effective as it could be. It should be relocated or removed.

The Ford Station Wagon is located in San Marcos, CA, is available for inspection and will require about 21 days to gain final approval from the court/heirs for the sale to finalized. Please call me at 602-245-7200 or email me at sales@classicpromenade.com with questions. This is a terrific opportunity to add a wonderful classic to your collection for a great value.

1940 Ford Deluxe “Woodie” wagon. This is an excellent and very original older cosmetic restoration of a rare station wagon. It is obvious that this example has always been well cared for. The wood is in very nice condition and has not been replaced over the years. It was given a cosmetic restoration from 1995 to 1996. More recently, about $13,000 was spent going through the engine and any other outstanding issues. As a result, it is an overall very nice Station Wagon. This would be rated as being between a 2 and a 3 in a 5 or 6 point scale.

This is a multi-seat transporter, with room for 8 passengers plus luggage, was the work horse for many hotels going to and from train stations and later, airports. This example, of which only 8,730 were built, has the rare and sought after Columbia 2-spd rear axle. The transmission is a three speed manual, with the shifter mounted on the steering column. The woodie is painted a deep maroon with a pleasing saddle interior. This wagon is wonderful to drive, with well-behaved manners that would be worthy of any collection, or just taking family and friends to a cars and coffee event.

We are selling this on behalf of the family of the deceased owner. It was part of his multi-million dollar collection. We will offer it at a price that is fair to all parties. This woodie comes complete with the complete file history, custom car cover, etc. For more details call Harry at 602.245.7200 or email me at harry@classic.bz.

MODEL 01A. 239 cu. in. L-head V-8 engine, three-speed manual transmission, Columbia Two Speed rear end, solid front axle, and four-wheel hydraulic drum brakes. Wheelbase: 112″

Through 1939, Ford’s station wagon bodies were assembled by Murray Corporation of America, from wood grown in Henry Ford’s northern Michigan forests. That year, however, relations between Ford Motor Company and Murray soured. This led Ford to consider in-house production of the station wagons. Discussions with the management of the Iron Mountain operation, then providing the wood parts to Murray for assembly, resulted in a proposal for all body assembly to be done in the northern Michigan locale and that bodies be sent to assembly plants fully finished and trimmed. The change took place at the beginning of the 1940 model year.

The bodies took on a much different appearance. The roofline was subtly altered, becoming more rounded at the windshield header. Panel spacing was changed, such that the lower panel became narrower, and the rear quarter panels were consolidated into one piece. The rear doors, formerly hinged at the back, “suicide” style, now swung toward the front. The spare tire, housed inside in 1938 and ’39, on the back of the driver’s seat, was returned to the tailgate, where it had been located from 1935 to 1937. Deluxe wagons were given the option of maple or birch framing, while Standards came in maple only. Darker-colored gumwood began to be used for panels, in addition to birch, in both series. The choice of material was random. Bodies were given three coats of varnish, hand-sanded between each application.

Three engines were available: the popular 221 cubic inch 85 hp V-8, the small 136 cubic inch 60 hp V-8 (installed in just two Standard wagons), and the larger 239 cubic inch 95 hp V-8 from the new Mercury, which was fitted to 354 Deluxe station wagons.. This is an excellent and very original older cosmetic restoration of a rare station wagon. It is obvious that this example has always been well cared for.

Is there anything sexier than a 1940 Ford Deluxe Coupe? This is a California car that was a long-time 1,000 point Dearborn Grand National meet winner that was then converted into an elegant and tasteful custom. The same owner that bought it in 1985 proceeded with a perfect meticulous restoration, showed it for about seven years, every time winning a Dearborn Award. We are very pleased to present this Coupe on consignment. (VIN: 185614959)

The livery is finished in the correct and authentic Mandarin Maroon single stage paint. It is in excellent condition throughout. The interior is finished in the correct mohair and looks beautiful. Mechanically the Coupe is excellent showing unrelenting pride of ownership.

The present owner has had this gorgeous Coupe since 1985, when he bought it in San Fernando Valley, CA. It was a nice, nearly rust free car that was slightly modified back in the day. After acquiring the Coupe, Al and his wife set out on a perfect restoration to original specifications. Following are some of the competitions that they entered the Coupe (again, every time winning a Dearborn Award for outstanding restoration):

o 1987- Bend, OR
o 1988- Dearborn, MI Grand National Meet
o 1989- Lake Arrowhead, CA (scoring 1,000 pts)
o 1990- Reno, NV (National Meet, drove there and then won!)
o 1992- Coeur d’Alene, ID (Drove there)

The restoration wasn’t just documented with trophies, the Coupe comes with a huge file full of documentation of the restoration as well as a large number of photographs.

In all, Al and his wife accumulated about 6,000 miles on the concours winner. By 2003 they wanted to enjoy the car in more modern comfort. They then started out with a new restoration into a mild custom that would be comfortable, safe and dependable tour and show car. And boy did they succeed!!

Using the concours winning car as a base, they removed the front clip, repainted it to remove any rock chips and imperfections and installed the following:

• Mustang II front end with disc brakes
• A new crate Ford 351 Windsor V8
• Full air conditioning system
• C4 automatic transmission
• Powdercoated wheels
• Holly carb
• Powdercoated headers and custom exhaust
• High capacity radiator
• Billet components including the a/c compressor and alternator
• 54 Ford steering column mated to 40 Ford steering wheel

This custom was designed and built for long range touring and shows. It is a dependable tour car and would be a crowd pleaser at any event.

Rarely do you find an all Henry Ford rust free steel 40 Ford Coupe that received a concours quality restoration. Rarely so you see such a car owned by the same meticulous owner for 30 years!! This one will sell quickly. If you’re serious, don’t wait.

For more details and information please call Harry Clark at +1.623.404.9042 or email us at sales@classicpromenade.com.
