This is a very nice California and Arizona example of a 1941 Cadillac Fleetwood 60 Special that is a multi-award concours winner after benefiting from a full restoration several years ago. The livery and interior show well overall. With a low-mileage, complete engine rebuild and a newer transmission, this Fleetwood is ready to national tours or regional shows.

This 60 Special was produced in February of 1941 and shipped to Valley Motor Company in Bakersfield, CA. It was first registered in October 1941. The early history of the Fleetwood is mostly unknown until a Northrup engineer sold the Fleetwood in 1974 to Bruce Hyatt of Thousand Oaks, CA. Shortly thereafter, Mr. Hyatt sold the Cadillac to Fernando Altavilla, an employee of George Hormel who was an heir to the Hormel meat-packing empire. The Cadillac became part of the Hormel Automotive Collection. Several years later, the Cadillac was resold to Bruce Hyatt. Mr. Hyatt then sold the Fleetwood to Dr. Gene Baroway, a dentist in Thousand Oaks, CA. Dr. Baroway commissioned a complete restoration of the Cadillac and it soon won several Southern CA concours awards. Upon the passing of Dr. Baroway, the Cadillac was acquired in 1993 by Don Klusman, a CCCA Member who resided in Scottsdale, AZ. When the the Cadillac was acquired by Mr. Klusman, it had accumulated 54,000 miles from new. Mr. Klusman toured the Cadillac in at least seven CARavan events in the Eastern and Northwestern US. Mr. Klusman enjoyed the Fleetwood for over 33,000 miles. The current owners, John and Cheryl Ossenfort of Flagstaff, AZ, acquired the Fleetwood on April 17, 2005 and have driven it approximately 10,000 miles while attending several CARavans throughout the US.

The livery has a nice luster and shine in beautiful deep Antoinette Blue (Paint Code 51). There are a few small paint imperfections noticeable upon close inspection. The chrome and bright work are in nice overall condition with minor scuff marks from normal use. The wide white wall tires accompanied by chrome wheel covers with red insets show well and nicely complement the deep blue paint. The original Cadillac spotlight functions, but the housing is showing damage. The exterior of the Cadillac shows well overall and is perfect for tours.

The interior is in very nice overall condition due to the earlier restoration. The gray wool broadcloth Bedford cord upholstery is finished with light gray piping and beautifully complements the deep blue exterior. The upholstery presents well overall showing little wear from normal use. The dark blue carpet and accompanying dark blue floor mats are in nice condition but show minor areas of wear. The overall dash and interior chrome are in very nice condition with all gauges and the clock functioning as designed. The radio is original equipment and shows very well.

The engine compartment has been nicely detailed and painted and is home to the 346 ci Flathead V-8 producing 150 hp at 3,400 rpm. The Flathead block was replaced and underwent a complete rebuild in 2002 and has accumulated approximately 17,000 since. The transmission was replaced with a 1947 Cadillac Hydra-Matic 4-speed automatic transmission. The engine runs strong and well and the transmission shifts nicely and performs quietly.

This Fleetwood comes complete with the Operating Hints Manual, A Guide for the Cadillac Enthusiasts, 1941 Cadillac Marketing Brochure, Repair and Tune Up Manual, 1941 Shop Manual, 1941 Serviceman and Service Bulletins, Cadillac Thoro-Check Engine Diagnosis Manual, 1941 Fischer Body Manual, Two Hydra-Matic Transmission Service Manuals and Countless tech articles. Also accompanying the Fleetwood is a list and collection of spare parts and approximately 2″ of service and parts receipts.

For more information and details, please call or text Harry Clark at +1.623.404.9042 or email us at sales@classicpromenade.com. This Cadillac Fleetwood is available for inspection at our Phoenix showroom. We are pleased to offer FaceTime or WhatsApp live video inspections and we help coordinate shipping worldwide. We also have financing partners if you are interested in financing.

This less than 20,000 miles since new 1958 Cadillac Fleetwood Sixty Special is fully optioned, and mostly original and is the “preferred driver” of the owner’s Cadillac Collection. The stunning color combination, beautiful chrome, Continental Kit, and wide white wall tires will make this gorgeous example a favorite at local shows and on tours.

This gorgeous Fleetwood was acquired by the current owners from Joyce Nadeau of Port Coquitlam, BC in 2019. The Sixty Special was one of approximately 11 Cadillacs that were owned and placed in storage as part of Mrs. Nadeau’s late husband’s collection. The current proud owners, Dennis and Rose Olson of Lundbreck, Alberta, are avid collectors who enjoy maintaining and showing their beautiful Cadillacs. Dennis and Rose are growing older and have decided to begin liquidating the collection to devote more time to other endeavors.

The livery of this Fleetwood is Cheviot Gray with an Alpine White top (Paint Code 14-12) and is believed to be original. The paint shows very well overall with very nice shine and luster. There are a few minor imperfections with paint touch ups in the higher use areas. The chrome and stainless-steel show very well overall. The new wide whitewall radials along with the addition of the striking Continental Kit provide a stately addition to the overall appearance of this gorgeous Fleetwood. This Fleetwood has made it a favorite of local shows in Alberta.

The interior seating and door panels have been reupholstered in a light gray cloth and light gray vinyl that is a similar to the original upholstery and shows well throughout. The new light gray carpet shows as new and beautifully complements the light gray upholstery. This Sixty Special is well optioned including power seats, power windows, power vent windows, factory seat belts, Autronic Eye, power trunk release and EZ Eye tinted glass. All gauge’s function as designed and work well. The radio, foot controller and power antenna have been restored. An alternate radio will accompany the Fleetwood.

The engine compartment is in nice condition overall and shows well. The very low mileage 365 cid V-8 engine produces 310 hp at 4,800 rpm with a Carter four-barrel carburetor. The engine is very quiet with excellent power which is transferred to the rear wheels through a 4-speed automatic transmission. The engine runs strong and very well, and the automatic transmission operates quietly and shifts smoothly. The Sixty Special is complete with air conditioning and power steering. It also comes complete with a front disc brake conversion kit that is not installed. The engine compartment is also adorned with a commemorative dealer delivery photo of the Fleetwood.

This Cadillac comes complete with the rare Continental Kit which makes this Fleetwood an instant stand out. The Fleetwood comes complete with the spare tire, car cover, a spare radio, an additional wheel cover, miscellaneous parts and several receipts and invoices. The 158-point inspection report is available on our website along with nearly 113 photos and three videos. The inspection found that the air conditioning is complete but has not been recommissioned, the passenger side vent window does not open (which may be simply the glass frame has adhered to the rubber seal), the wipers have been converted to electric and all other instruments and lights work well. This Fleetwood drives beautifully in all respects.

We have this Fleetwood Sixty Special priced well as a 2- condition. This reflects its 19,000 miles from new, being fully optioned and its overall condition. The Hagerty Value Guide has a No. 2 example with air conditioning priced at $46,440 and a No. 3 example at $35,010.

For more information and details, please call or text Harry Clark at +1.623.404.9042 or email us at sales@classicpromenade.com. This Cadillac is with its owners outside of Calgary, Canada. Dennis and Rose can help transport the Cadillac into the US or we can help arrange shipping worldwide. We have financing partners if you wish to finance its purchase.
