This one-owner BMW was acquired new by Michael Wilford of Prescott, AZ. Mr. Wilford is an avid car collector and a friend and client of ours who maintains all his vehicles incredibly well. Mr. Wilford has ridden this R 1250 R only 638 miles since new.

This BMW is finished in beautiful Black Storm Metallic paint on the fuel tank, which comes complete with silver and red graphics, the fenders, and the side cases. The side cases are a $1098 option. It comes complete with a user-friendly, multifunctional instrument cluster with 6.5 inch full-color TFT display, an LED headlamp and an adjustable windscreen. The two-up seat is dark charcoal in color and the shape blends beautifully into the fuel tank. The stainless-steel exhaust and chrome muffler are a nice accent to the Black Storm Metallic paint, bronze forks, and the dark gray cast sport wheels, which are wrapped in Metzeler Roadtec Z8 Interact tires. This BMW shows nearly as new. There are two tiny scuffs on the front fender which are only noticeable upon very close inspection.

This BMW is powered by a horizontally opposed, ShiftCam, 1245 cc twin which produces 136 hp at 7,750 rpm and 105 ft/lbs at 6,250 rpm. The Boxer motor propels the R 1250 R to a top speed of over 125 mph. The base model R 1250 Rs come with a 6-speed transmission, shaft drive, Brembo Brakes/ABS, 4.8-gallon fuel tank, hill start control, ASC stability control, rain/road modes and an LED headlamp. This BMW comes complete with the Select Package Option, a $3,150 value, which includes the following upgrades: semi-active electronic suspension, Ride Modes Pro, ABS Pro, Quick Shifter, DTC: Dynamic Traction Control, DBA: Dynamic Brake Assist, cruise control, heated grips, tire pressure monitor, center stand, GPS preparation (no GPS), Keyless Ride and a chrome muffler. The performance of the Boxer ShiftCam motor is exhilarating, and the handling of this Sport Bike makes this R 1250 R a joy to ride.

This substantially restored E28 is complete with a full repaint, reconditioned interior, and sorted mechanicals. Equipment includes air conditioning, a sunroof, factory fog lamps, and a modern audio system. Located in Scottsdale, Arizona, this 528e is now offered with receipts from the restoration and a clean CARFAX, sold on a clear Arizona title in the seller’s name. The CARFAX report indicates no accidents or damage on record.

The restoration work on this 528e was conducted between BMW Encinitas and Arizona Bimmer. The engine rebuild included the replacement of all worn items including  plugs wires, gaskets, drive belts, servicing and conversion of the A/C system, an oil and filter change, transmission mount replacement, replacement of the shift lever seal, replacement of the output shaft seal, and a check of the steering and suspension systems and a proper compression test.

The transmission itself is a low millage unit out of a 1986 donor car and features a new clutch, new throwout bearing, and new fluids. All suspension components have been replaced or rebuilt, as well as all mounting points. All parts replaced were with genuine BMW Parts by a certified BMW, ASE mechanic. Lastly, while the car was in our shop we had the rear brake rotors and pads replaced.

Today, the 2.7L inline-6 paired with a 5-speed Getrag manual transmission function beautifully and like new. Our test drive and initial impressions were very good. This car drives exactly like you would expect the classic analog BMW’s to perform. It’s engaging and very connected to the road.

The car is finished in Bronwzitbeige-metallic and it shows beautifully. The paint work is new and nearly perfect, with lots of shine, depth, and luster. We only noticed a small chip above the fuel door. Bodywork at the time of restoration included the repair of small dings as well as a full professional respray in the car’s factory color combination. The windshield was replaced as well as other areas of the exterior trim with OEM BMW Parts. The black grille is in good condition, as are the chrome “kidney” center grilles. The car is equipped with black impact bumpers front and rear and a center-mounted exhaust with dual tips. The clear coat on the polished aluminum bumper section is peeling however. We also noted that the front right fog light does not work. We suspect it is a faulty bulb, but we do not know for certain. Factory 14” bottlecap wheels are mounted to 195/70 tires on all four corners and are in excellent condition.

On the interior, the new black leather with black suede roofline and door inserts is impressive. A new dashboard direct from Germany along with rebuilt horsehair seat cushions (also from Germany) complete the look. The carpeting and floor mats are also new.  The leather-wrapped steering wheel frames instrumentation, and it includes a 160-mph speedometer and a 7k-rpm tachometer. Additional gauges are present for coolant temperature, fuel level, and fuel economy. The leather wrapped M-sport shift nob is a tasteful touch. Our inspection noticed the front passenger door lock does not work with the central locking system, and the door itself sometimes requires effort to close properly. Over $10k was spent on the interior alone, and it really shows!

The six-digit odometer reads 248k miles, which are original to the vehicle. We did notice that the speedometer works, however the odometer was functioning incrementally. The owner tells us that only about 50 miles have been driven on the car since the restoration was completed.

Overall, it is clear that this is a very nice example of car not commonly found in this condition. Someone clearly paid a lot of attention to detail when bringing this car back to life. Today, it would show very well a regional or local car shows.

Values on these 528e sedans are tricky, largely because it’s so uncommon to see them this nice. Considering the amount of effort and cost put into what is effectively a close to brand new E28, we would expect this to be valued somewhere between $18,000 – $22,000.

We love the silver gray metallic paint that is all original with no accidents or issues. The black canvas top is the original and is nearly as new as well. The gray leather is simply stunning and is also nearly as new without having been dyed or touched up.

This M3 features the SMG paddle shift similar to a Ferrari or F1 racer that can also be placed into drive mode, as any automatic. Everything works as it should and it comes with a clean CARfax, showing no issues at all.

One does not have to look very far to realize the e46 M3 was one of the top sports cars of it’s time, and is still favored by enthusiasts today. However, with so many either being heavily modified, used for track days, totaled, or offered with the less than desirable SMG, there are few unadulterated examples remaining.

However, this particular M3 is an exception! With a one family ownership history, only 51k original miles, and in stock condition, this black on black, 6-speed manual coupe truly represents the driver’s choice when it comes to the e46. 

Purchased on August 11, 2003 from BMW of The Main Line in Bala Cynwyd, PA, this M3 has spent most of its life in Pennsylvania and Maryland. It was a weekend and fair weather vehicle, and has been meticulously maintained. This car also has a clean, accident free CARFAX and a perfect service record.  In 2018, this M3 transitioned from the original owner to another family member who has driven it about 1,000 miles over the last 3 years.

Mechanically, this M3 is in outstanding shape. It’s been pampered its entire life and has all its regular routine maintenance performed. Approximately 1,000 miles ago, the car got new brake pads, rotors and a fluid flush. An oil change, as well as a number of other small inspections and work was performed. The engine runs very smooth, the clutch has lots of life, and the transmission shifts into gear with authority. 

The gorgeous black exterior paint has its depth and shine, and we love the M-Sport colored pin striping. There is some very mild curb rash on a few of the rims, and there is a small chip / gash in the front bumper. Beyond that, we did not notice any other cosmetic defects. 

On the interior, this car still has that very distinctive 90’s / early 2000’s BMW leather smell. The gorgeous black leather is in outstanding shape, and it looks like no one has ever sat in the back seats! All touch points, carpets, steering wheel, and shifter show very little to any signs of wear. All electronics function properly, and all LEDs in the instrument cluster illuminate brightly.  There is, however, a very small nick on both door interior door handles. 

Overall, this M3 is an excellent example of a well loved, well preserved, driver focused example. It’s getting harder and harder to find E46’s that are unmodified and haven’t been abused. We are confident this particular car will satisfy even the most particular of BMW enthusiasts.

This 2002 was bought new by Leif Bakland, DDS on his birthday immediately following completion of his residency at Harvard Dental School.   It was his daily driver for a few years until he moved to Loma Linda, Ca to become a professor at their prestigious dental school in 1976.

For the next 35 years the 2002 was used sparingly since he worked two blocks from his home.  Dr. Bakland commenced a no-expense spared restoration several years ago with the hopes that one of his sons might want to keep the car.  As is so often the case, neither son was interested in their fathers treasured BMW.

Dr. Bakland purchased his new 1974 BMW 2002 at Auto Engineering, Inc. in Lexington, Mass. On December 30th, 1974 for $5,725.  The window sticker and original sales invoice reveal that it was delivered new in its present livery of Polaris Silver, included tinted glass, tachometer, stabilizer and the dealer added air conditioning.

The restoration included sourcing all lenses, trim pieces, badges, etc. directly from BMW.  The engine was removed and completely resealed to prevent oil leaks and to allow for the very best engine compartment painting and detailing.  All the engine compartment decals were replicated exactly, including some that had to be recreated.  The wheels were powder coated and new radials and exhaust were installed.

There is a stack of receipts that total well in excess $20,000 just for the restoration performed most recently.   There is also a photo gallery of the restoration included within the file history.

The 2002 is one of BMW’s most famous automobile models. While the 1500 had begun BMW’s reputation for sports sedans, the 2002 may be considered its ultimate incarnation.

A two liter version of the Michelotti-designed two-door 1600, it cemented the company’s reputation for compact sporting sedans and served as both forerunner of the BMW 3 Series and inspiration for the new 1 Series Coupe.

With its 1990 cc engine, it produced 108 bhp (81 kW; 109 PS) in the 2002.

Surely this is one of the best.  It has unbeatable provenance being a one owner CA “Blue Plate” car with all books, registration documents, window sticker, sales receipt and maintenance and restoration records.
