This 2008 Bentley Azure is powered by a twin-turbocharged 6.75-liter V8 paired with a six-speed automatic transmission and is finished in Beluga with a color-matching convertible soft top. It was optioned with lower front wing vents and rides on an electronically controlled adaptive suspension along with chrome-finished 19″ alloy wheels. Additional equipment includes xenon headlights, front and rear parking sensors, and a reversing camera. On the inside, the heated and massaging front seats are upholstered in Beluga leather and accompanied by multi-zone climate control, burl walnut wood veneers, a pop-up navigation screen, and an Alpine high-end sound system with a six-disc CD changer. The car spent time in the US and Canada before being acquired by its current owner in 2024, and it now has 17k miles. This Azure is offered in Arizona on dealer consignment with a build sheet, manufacturer’s literature, a battery tender, a clean Carfax report, and a clean Wisconsin title.

The car is finished in Beluga and was optioned with lower front wing vents and stainless-steel matrix grille inserts. Details include a power-operated soft top with a heated rear window as well as a retractable Bentley “Flying B” hood ornament, a jewel fuel filler cap, chromed mirror caps, and xenon headlights with washers. The antenna is noted to have been replaced in preparation for the sale.

Chrome-finished 19″ 12-spoke alloy wheels are mounted with 255/45 Pirelli P Zero Asimmetrico tires. The car rides on an electronically controlled adaptive suspension, and braking is provided by ventilated discs at all four corners.

Beluga leather trims the seats and extends to the dashboard, armrests, and door panel inserts, while burl walnut wood veneers accent the cabin. The heated, massaging, and 14-way power-adjustable front seats have three-way position memory settings, and appointments include multi-zone climate control, cruise control, drilled aluminum foot pedals, a pop-up navigation screen, and an Alpine high-end sound system consisting of a head unit linked to a trunk-mounted six-disc CD changer and a subwoofer with a multi-channel amplifier.

The wood- and leather-rimmed multifunction steering wheel sits ahead of a central digital display flanked by white-dial instrumentation consisting of a 190-mph speedometer and a 5k-rpm tachometer. An analog clock and ancillary readouts are mounted in the center of the dashboard. Driver’s aids include Park Distance control and a reversing camera. The digital odometer indicates 17k miles, approximately 500 of which have been added under current ownership.

The twin-turbocharged 6.75-liter V8 was factory rated at 450 horsepower and 645 lb-ft of torque. The oil was changed and the lower coolant hose clamp was replaced in March 2025.  Power is sent to the rear wheels through a six-speed ZF automatic transmission featuring sequential shift control. The convertible top electrical power is not currently functioning.

The Carfax report is free of accidents or other reported damage.

This Bentley is in nice overall condition, belying the fact that its 25 years old and having covered a mere 62,200 miles. It has lived most of its life in Texas and California, and has been regularly serviced and well maintained (documented mainly through CARFAX reports and our inspection).  It was ordered new by Overseas Motors in Dallas, Texas and purchased by its first owner Mike Prentiss on September 1, 1997.

This Bentleys previous owner is a longtime RROC member and enjoyed it for the past nine years.  Much of the service through the years has been performed by Bentley dealers (showing up as Volkswagen on the CARFAX) or well-known independent specialist, such as ACME Car Service.  Importantly, he went through and upgraded all of the more problematic top hydraulics, which is a time consuming $15,000 project.  The present owner for the past three years is also a member of the RROC and has judged at annual events.

The livery is striking in Diamond Graphite, being accented with a newer black Haartz cloth canvas convertible top and striking 17” chromed Bentley five major spoke wheels with blue B’s in the chromed hub caps (and the valve stem caps have blue B’s, too!).  These top-of-the-line convertibles express the workmanship of Bentley’s hand-crafted excellence. This convertible features such upgrade details as the chromed grill shell with the chromed matrix grill inserts, dual exhaust tips and the blue badging throughout. The exterior paint is nearly perfect. There is no evidence of any prior paint work, and it is in remarkable condition today.  The rear bumper has two faint scratches and the front passengers bumper has a slight scrape, both included in the photo gallery.  The chrome on two of the wheels shows some peeling upon close inspection.

The interior is in good condition overall.  The Mushroom leather is all original and in very nice condition.  The interior required minimal touchup of the leather, mainly from the seat belt area in the driver’s seat bolster.  The dash pads are also matching Mushroom leather and look excellent. All of the leather is soft and supple with minimal age-related creases. The interior shows typical wear for a 62,000 miles car.

The burr walnut veneers for the cap rails are in excellent condition with no cracks or fading.  Blue Flying B emblems have been imbedded into the inlays and looks sharp. The steering wheel has been upgraded to a beautiful burr walnut wheel, which presents with a couple of fine cracks.  The dash wood veneers are original and are in good condition. There are several areas where there is cracking in the veneer and there is some light fading noticeable. This can be seen in the photo gallery. This example is consistent with Bentley’s country club ambiance.

The true heart of the Continental R is the engine and drivetrain. The entire drivetrain is based on the Turbo R and it shared all of its components. Built with the venerable Bentley turbocharged 6.75 liter V8, this Bentley has the upgraded 385 bhp about 600 ft. lbs. of torque and incredible torque available at low RPMs. This provided the power to achieve 150 mph and a 0-60 mph time in just over 6 seconds. The power is transmitted through the tried and true GM 4L80E four-speed automatic transmission. And this performance is from a motorcar weighing nearly three tons!

The last owner installed a back-up camera and Navigation system that uses the drivers iPhone through its built in WIFI. He also engineered a very clever removable cup holder that matches the Mushroom leather, as well as a very functional removeable wind deflector for use when the convertible top is lowered to help prevent wind in the passenger compartment.  Both the windscreen and the cupholders remove in a matter of moments, leaving appearing completely stock.  See photos in the photo gallery of the Navigation/Backup camera, cup holders and windscreen configurations.

We have about ten years of service receipts showing that many of the common problem areas have been addressed.  The convertible top hoses and most of the important rubber items and hoses have been replaced during this time.  Importantly, since the convertible top systems have all been fully serviced and updated, there are no leaks in this system.  This is a critical aspect to look for with Azures.  This Bentley comes complete with its owners’ manuals, two sets of keys, tools, safety equipment.  The present owner also recently installed all new and correct Pirelli radials.  These Azures are sure to increase in value over time.

The driver’s seat retracts only intermittently, and the passenger side seat heater isn’t functioning.  We ran a CARFAX and found it to be pretty detailed with no accidents or other issues.

With an original MSRP of $319,000, it was first delivered to Paulson Motors in Beverly Hills, California on October 13, 1995 to Gail and Roger Dauer in Beverly Hills. It was then acquired by Christopher Lefeure on August 16, 2001 in British Columbia, Canada where it spent most of its life being serviced regularly by Bentley dealerships and independent British car repair facilities (these service records have been attached). On March 10, 2021, the late Dr. John Charles Spence of Tempe, Arizona acquired the Azure and we are now selling it on consignment on behalf of his estate.  The Bentley still retained its original radials from the factory until we replaced them earlier this year.

The paint on this Bentley is Black (paint code 9500701) and it is in nearly perfect original condition with gorgeous shine and luster. The chrome and stainless steel trim around are all in excellent condition with no visible blemishes. The Black canvas convertible top is original and looks and functions as new.  The convertible top on these Azures and Corniches were engineered by Mercedes-Benz and should only be used occasionally.

Inside, the Silverstone Leather (Trim Code A4181) is complimented beautifully with Black piping (PAC-3726) and is stunning and nearly perfect. The Cirrus Gray headliner sits tautly above the interior and it is in excellent condition. The only area where the interior shows any indication of use is where the driver’s side seatbelt rests upon the piping, this can be seen in our photo gallery. The Burl Walnut veneer gleams beautifully in showroom new condition, creating a striking contrast to the two-tone leather dashboard.

The engine is the tried-and-true 6.75 litre V8 that Bentley and Rolls-Royce have used in numerous models. In the Azure, the V8 is also turbocharged, producing 385HP with nearly 600 lb. feet of torque. The four-speed transmission in this Azure shifts very smoothly and without hesitation. Steering feels solid and tight as one would expect for an 18,000-mile car. This Azure rides exceptionally well and has brand-new Bridgestone tires as of 2022 that have traveled less than 15 miles since installation. This impressive car drives as well as it looks and is surprisingly athletic despite its size and weight, capable of over 150mph with a 0-60 time of just over six seconds.

This Bentley comes with the original owner’s manual, clean CARFAX, record booklet and a wonderful collection of receipts through most all its life. Additionally, it has the factory in-car telephone, Rolls-Royce/Bentley Sound System Demonstration CD, and key-fob for the alarm system. These Azures will undoubtedly increase in value over time.  This is as pristine as one can find for an Azure.

This Azure is priced well.  NADA Values this at $77,400.  We have proactively reduced the price to allow for any desired convertible top hydraulic repairs by its next owner.

This is a beautiful example of the curvaceous and high performing 1997 Bentley Azure.  These were hand-built masterpieces with a total production of 130 LHD examples built through the year. The coachwork is pure Bentley but the convertible top modifications were from Pininfarina.  The Azure has a classical elegance that looks contemporary today. When new, this special-order motorcar is said to have had a retail price of about $339,000.

This Bentley is in nice overall condition, belying the fact that its 23 years old and having covered a mere 49,600 miles. It has lived most of its life in Florida, Pennsylvania, Washington and Texas, and has been regularly serviced and well maintained (documented mainly through CARFAX reports and our inspection).  It was ordered new by Lauderdale Imports Ltd. and ordered on March 27th, 1996 and purchased by Larry Schubert on November 4, 1996.  This Bentleys present owner is an RROC member and has enjoyed it for the past three years.

The livery is striking in Masons Black, being accented with a black Haartz cloth canvas convertible top and striking 17” Bentley five major spoke wheels with the Blue Bentley “B”s in the center caps.  These top-of-the-line convertibles express the workmanship of Bentley’s hand-crafted excellence.   The exterior paint is nearly perfect and a clear bra was added to the front fender tips. There is no evidence of any prior paint work and it is in remarkable condition today.  There is one very small blemish in the crease where the trunk lid meets the upper bumper, a photo of which is included in the photo gallery.

The interior is in very nice condition overall.  The Parchment leather with black piping is all original and in very nice to excellent condition.  The interior required minimal touchup of the leather, mainly from the seat belt area in the driver’s seat bolster.  The dash pads are also matching black leather and look excellent. The black Wilton wool carpet has black binding and the carpets are in very nice condition as well.  A complete set of the mouton sheepskin overlays are included and are in very nice condition along with a set of Bentley logoed daily mats.   All of the leather is soft and supple with minimal age-related creases. The interior shows typical wear for a 46,000 miles car.

The burr walnut veneers for the cap rails are in excellent condition with no cracks or fading.  The dash wood veneers are original and are in excellent condition.  The wood overall look as new.  This can be seen in the photo gallery.  This example is consistent with Bentley’s country club ambiance.
