This excellently restored 1964 Aston Martin DB5, chassis DB5/1759/R, is an outstanding example of Aston Martin’s most iconic Post-War model. One of just 887 produced between 1963 and 1965, this DB5 combines elegant Carrozzeria Touring design with a well-documented, photo-detailed restoration. Finished in the quintessential Silver Birch over black Connolly leather, this DB5 retains its matching-numbers engine per the BMIHT certificate and features tasteful drivability upgrades, making this Aston Martin equally suited for local concours events or refined weekend drives.

Originally delivered in December 1964 through Plough Motors Ltd. in the UK, this example left the factory finished in Dubonnet Rosso with a Fawn interior and equipped with the desirable ZF five-speed gearbox. The provenance includes long-term custodianship in the UK, California, and Canada before undergoing a full restoration between 2013 and 2015 by St. Pierre Restorations of Surrey, British Columbia. The DB5 was converted to left-hand drive during its earlier ownership, at which time the engine was upgraded to 4.2 litres. More recently, a Toyota five-speed gearbox was installed using a Conversion Components Ltd. kit, offering smoother usability, though the original ZF gearbox was retained and accompanies the sale. Today, the odometer shows 78,800 total miles, with fewer than 4,000 miles since the last engine rebuild.

The exterior was taken down to bare metal during restoration and refinished in Silver Birch, a color forever associated with the DB5 following its cinematic debut in Goldfinger. The quality of the work remains excellent, with deep, consistent paintwork complemented by chrome wire wheels with three-eared knock-offs. The chrome trim is in excellent condition, and details such as faired-in headlights, a low-profile hood scoop, and triple-stacked taillights reflect the signature Touring design. The Aston Martin presents beautifully and would be a welcome addition in many collections!

Inside, the DB5 was retrimmed in Vaumol Connolly black leather, which remains supple and fresh throughout with light wear on the driver’s side piping. The reclining seats, woven black carpets, and interior trim are in excellent condition, showing minimal use since being restored. The wood-rimmed steering wheel frames a full suite of Smiths instrumentation, including a 180-mph speedometer, tachometer, and supporting gauges. The two-tone dash, AM radio, and center-mounted working analog clock underscore the car’s period-correct presentation, while the modernized gearbox and left-hand drive conversion provide a more usable driving experience without compromising authenticity.

Mechanically, this DB5 benefits from comprehensive work performed during restoration, including the rebuild of its upgraded numbers matching 4.2-litre DOHC inline six-cylinder engine with triple SU carburetors. Paired to the five-speed gearbox, the drivetrain delivers ample performance while maintaining reliability for regular use. Additional upgrades include a stainless-steel exhaust system, renewed suspension components, and overhauled disc brakes. With fewer than 4,000 miles since its rebuild and careful mechanical attention, this Aston Martin is ready to be enjoyed!

This DB5 has been shown at The Quail, A Motorsports Gathering, and was awarded the Chairman’s Choice Award at the Park Place Luxury & Supercar Showcase Collector’s Concours in 2019. DB5/1759/R is offered with it’s workshop and owner’s manuals, parts catalogue, tool roll, knock-off hammer, four spare discs for brakes, the original ZF transmission, BMIHT certificate, restoration photos and additional documentation.

This is a gorgeous Vantage Roadster that is nearly as new with only 14,000 miles accumulated in Southern California. True to the provenance of Aston Martin, this Vantage Roadster is completely hand-built. The detail and design characteristics of the Roadster require the painstaking patience that only hand-built perfection can offer. The design is simply gorgeous and sexy. Every line on the Roadster was thought through and optimized. And the car offers far more than beauty, it’s technology and performance are incredible as well. New this Vantage sold for in excess of $125,000.

It is almost as-new. There are no scratches, chips, dents, etc. on the exterior. The bottom of the front airdam has a small area of spider webbing as shown in the photo included in the gallery. Otherwise it is nearly as new. The interior is also nearly as-new and as one would expect for a car that has been babied and has accumulated 14,000 miles. You won’t be disappointed!

Although there are many reasons for this excellent performance–light weight and efficient aerodynamics among them–the key is the engine, the heart of any great sports car. This V8 has been specifically designed and developed for the Vantage Roadster and Vantage Coupé. Hand assembled at Aston Martin’s purpose-built engine facility in Cologne, Germany, it is a light, compact, all-alloy unit – high performance yet ultra-responsive even at the lower end of the rev range. Its maximum torque is an impressive 302 lb ft, 75 per cent of which is delivered at just 1500 rpm – barely more than idle – making the Roadster extremely tractable and great fun to drive. Push harder, and that V8 engine revs freely, delivering refined, exhilarating pace. This motorcar features the F1 racing style automatic transmission.

The exhaust system is highly effective. Each bank of cylinders features a four-into-two-into-one manifold – an arrangement more usually found on racing cars – which improves breathing and therefore performance. Special bypass valves provide a quieter exhaust note at low speed, opening at higher engine speeds to reduce the pressure in the exhaust system, raise the power output and provide a more rousing accompaniment.

This is a spectacular 1976 Aston (Series III) that has been a consistent award-winning survivor. Bought new in Newport Beach, Ca, this Aston has been considered one of the nicest original surviving examples extant. It has been owned and cared for by two AMOC members and professionally maintained since new.

This Aston Martin was made in November 1976 and was bought new by Mr. Charles McCandless from Newport Imports in Newport Beach, Ca. In 2002 this motorcar was sold to Hal Clark, our Managing Director.

By 2002, Mr. McCandless had accumulated approximately 25,000 miles on the Aston. Hal has since used it on numerous tours and has participated at numerous concours events. Most recently the motorcar was awarded first place in the Aston Martin class of the Los Angeles Concours D’Elegance in 2009.

As with most of the 967 Aston Martin V8’s produced between 1973 and 1978, this motorcar is well equipped in the finest of Connolly Leather and Wilton wool carpeting, full power including automatic transmission, power windows, four Weber carburetors, power steering and brakes.

All portions of the aluminum body, paint, interior and all mechanical components are original to the car with no modifications or restoration work. This is a concours level original motorcar.

The approximate 310 horsepower propelled the Aston Martin from 0-60 mph in under six seconds with a top speed of about 160 mph.

This example has been continually professionally serviced and runs and drives beautifully with excellent air conditioning. The Webers were recently professionally rebuilt and it has recently received a full tune-up and servicing.

For more information regarding this spectacular survivor, please call Hal Clark at 951.440.0412 or email him at hal@classicpromenade.com.
