This 1951 Chevrolet Panel Truck is a stunning example of a professionally customized classic. With an investment in its restoration of approximately $340,000, this is a showstopper. This custom panel truck body is mounted on a 1975 K-20 Blazer chassis with numerous upgraded components. The design, engineering and fit and finish are truly impressive. The extensive modifications, such as a 454 V-8 engine, automatic transmission, 4-wheel drive, and stunning paint, make this panel truck unique and impressive. This fully customized truck would be fantastic for frequent use or for shows.

This Panel Truck was a rust-free California example that was acquired approximately 20 years ago by Rich Gates, owner of Vintage Auto in Aguanga, CA. Vintage Auto specializes in premier auto restorations garnering a stellar reputation in the industry. Rich and his team have restored nearly ten classic cars for Harry Clark and Classic Promenade, including several classics that were shown at Pebble Beach. Over the past ten years, Mr. Gates proceeded to invest in a 3,000-hour complete custom restoration and $40,000 in parts that makes this truck truly unique, beautiful to see and thrilling to drive.

The livery is a stunning three-tone, custom color design which includes a deep blue, light blue and orange combination. The paint has beautiful luster and shine and is fully polished and ready for show. The show-quality chrome is in excellent condition. The stance of the truck is impressive and complete with Rancho Suspension components and complemented by black American Racing Wheels, which are wrapped in BF Goodrich 32 x 11.50-15 off road tires. The chrome side pipes, with heat guards, are tucked under the running boards and include orange paint accents in the interior of each pipe. A nice custom addition are the electronically actuated side-steps that appear from beneath the running boards as each cab door is opened. Another unexpected addition is the hand fabricated, full-tilt front end which is the perfect way to display the highly beautiful and detailed engine compartment during shows and tours. The Chevrolet “bow tie” logo is a unique design element that is displayed beneath the front grill and on the running boards and side-steps. The high-quality paint and exterior components show very well overall and make a stunning and lasting impression.

The panel truck’s interior is as stunning and impressive as the exterior. The light blue paint lends a bright and clean feel to the overall interior. The black vinyl upholstery is in near as new condition and shows well, as do the black composite door panels. The interior chrome pieces show very well throughout and are complemented by the Philippine Mahogany wood trim which originate from a 1957 Chris Craft boat. The cab portion of the truck is complete with black carpet, which shows very well. The rear interior floor is also complete with Philippine Mahogany panels and beautiful chrome separation strips. All pieces show very well throughout. The dash is in beautiful condition complete with all new vintage-style gauges and a vintage-style AM/FM Bluetooth radio. The period correct heater is mounted below the dash and near the floor mounted automatic transmission and the transfer case gear shifters. The automatic transmission shift lever appears as a period manual transmission shift lever, which lends to the period correct overall feel of the interior. The interior is stunning and the attention to detail is very evident.

The beautifully detailed and painted engine compartment, complete with a hand fabricated, custom-tilt front end, is the home of the nicely appointed Chevrolet 454 cu in motor complete with chrome valve covers, chrome alternator and white powder coated Hedman Hedders. The 454 has less than 100 miles since the complete rebuild and produces approximately 450 hp with 9 to 1 compression. It has been bored 30,000 over, blueprinted and balanced with ported and polished heads, an Edelbrock Performer cam shaft and an Edelbrock Performer 2-0 intake manifold topped with a Holley 750 Double Pumper carburetor. The automatic transmission and transfer case were also rebuilt and both operate smoothly and quietly. All black components are powder coated and show well. The 1975 K-20 Blazer chassis is powder coated and show ready. The off-road suspension kit is a nice visual complement to the overall look of the exterior with white shocks and yellow boots. The engine compartment shows well throughout and is ready to be shown.

This 1951 Chevrolet Panel Truck is as pleasing to the eye as it is to drive. This one-of-a-kind custom build by Vintage Auto would be a nice modern-driver addition to any classic collection and perfect for shows and tours.

Complete photos, videos, and inspection report available at www.ClassicPromenade.com.

This is a largely preserved and original 1971 Maserati Indy 4.2 (Tipo: AM116) which has been owned by our collector client for the past 20 years. The owner is a longtime collector in North Hollywood and has enjoyed a collection of significant cars. This is an important and rare find that would be a terrific preservation example or a very straightforward basis for a show quality restoration. We love the five speed transmission and air conditioning, making this a gentleman’s tourer.

The aesthetic of the Indy is considered by many to be sleek and elegant. Designed by Virginio Vairo at Vignale, this Indy is the 552th example produced (1,142 in total), and 1 of only 436 4.2 liter Indy’s ever made. The early history of this Maserati is largely unknown. It has been in California for well over 20 years and it appears to be a European delivery version as all the instrumentation are in metric. US delivery vehicles, also called “Indy America,” would have imperial measurements.

According to the owner, in the late 1990’s, the previous owner had inherited the car from his father. It is understood that once this car entered the United States, it spent a majority of its time in Sacramento, CA, before arriving in Los Angeles.

This Indy has an older repaint in an attractive Smoke Quartz (224,652). The paint is in good condition today, with good to very good depth and shine. There are many small scratches, and small paint chips from normal use that are visible upon close inspection. The chrome and stainless are all original and in overall good condition, with minimal imperfections. The badging on the front and rear emblems are presentable, but showing patina. The front bumper has a slight bend and would benefit from being repaired. Overall, this Maserati shows well and we love the avant-garde design.

The read leather interior is largely original and in overall well preserved condition. The attractive and sporty red leather seats are supportive and comfortable. Overall, we did not notice any signs of significant wear, but the leather does have splitting and cracking, especially on the two front seats. The dash, headliner, steering wheel, and gauges are overall good to very good; they present well and are free of any major blemishes. The carpeting, weather stripping, shelf behind the rear seats, and gearshift boot are aged and would benefit from replacement.

Mechanically, this Maserati is in good running condition. We performed a brief test-drive around the neighborhood and found it enjoyable to drive. The Indy started right up, ran and idled smoothly, the transmission shifted into gear with ease, and the brakes felt solid. The venerable Maserati all-aluminum four overhead cam engine, as would be expected, sounded fantastic and pulled strong. The four Weber 42 DCNF carburetors are dialed in just right. All the gauges worked, the steering felt correct, and overall provided a pleasant and engaging driving experience. And the four wheel disc brakes inspired confidence, even in our limited test drive.

This Indy has been part of a larger collection and used sparingly, so we would recommend the new owner perform a major service. Many of the finicky electronic issues that can plague these cars, such as window switches, ignition timing, etc., have largely been sorted. The odometer states 73,442km (45,634 miles) and is believed to be original.

Overall, we found this to be a very charismatic Indy which would draw attention at any local car show. It also has the potential to be a very fun touring car with a small amount of work.

Details about this Indy’s condition are included in the 158-point inspection report which is published as part of this listing. This car is located in North Hollywood, CA.

This is the last iteration and the ultimate refinement of the 1963 Lancia Appia Sport Zagato on the highly desirable shorter wheelbase. This is available for public sale for the first time in 40 years and one of only 200 made.

This has been part of a large collection of important motorcars in the Los Angeles area owned by a very knowledgeable collector of rare and highly original examples. This Lancia is no exception and does not disappoint. It wears its correct and original California “Black Plates” helping to attest to its provenance. This Zagato was bought by the present owner about 40 years ago in Newport Beach, CA. It had previously been owned by the well known TV Producer, Arthur Vitarelli, who made scores of shows including Mary Poppins, Zorro and The Love Bug. Mr. Vitarelli would often drive the Zagato from Newport Beach to the studios (at a time when traffic was rare in Southern California).

The Pale Green livery is a repaint from about seven years ago and is still in very nice and serviceable condition. The glass, chrome and stainless trim are all original and in good condition. We love the fastback rooflines and the Frenched taillights. The Appia Sport was the design inspiration of the young Ercole Spada who had just joined Zagato. It was his mission to adapt the Appia GTE bodywork to the shorter, 92.5 inch wheelbase (a full 6.3 inches in wheelbase and 8 inches shorter overall than the Zagato GTE). The result is stunning!

The interior is in very nice condition overall, with the original black leather and carpet being replaced a couple years ago. Black Wilton wool carpet was installed in the front of the passenger compartment with the original black carpeting in the rear somewhat faded. The original Blaupunkt AM/FM stereo is installed and not presently working.

The Lancia Appia is powered by the more powerful Series 3 V4 1.1 liter engine that produces 60 hp. It features a four speed manual transmission with synchromesh in the top three gears. According to the owner, the Lancia is in good overall mechanical condition. The fuel tank has a non-original inside tank that was installed years ago.

This Zagato comes complete with NOS suspension components as well and historical documentation from the seller. The odometer is displaying 6,758 miles, but the true mileage is unknown.

For more details and information, please call or text Harry Clark at +1.623.404.9042 or email us at sales@classicpromenade.com. The Lancia remains with its present owner in the Los Angeles vicinity.

This is a gorgeous example of the 512 TR Testarossa! What is more iconic than a Red on Tan 12-cylinder Ferrari? Having accumulated a mere 17,980 miles since new it is in overall terrific condition. This is the one to add to your collection.

It’s livery is all original in Rossa Corsa (Ferrari Red). Having no history of accidents or damage, the paint is all original and reveals a history of affection and use. The front has a number of very fine chips that one would expect to find after 17,980 miles. This, of course, is far preferred to a motorcar with a sorted history of accidents or neglect (and, God forbid, a mysterious repaint!).

Inside the passenger cabin is the supple tan leather one expects to find in the ultimate Italian performance coupe. The leather is in overall excellent condition with a few areas reflecting limited wear.
The drivetrain is fantastic! The gorgeous tones of the roaring 12-cylinder horizontally opposed boxer engine are accentuated through the custom PowerTone exhaust system that was specifically designed for this particular car. It is unique and wonderful! The original exhaust is included in the sale.

We love the complete set of original tools, books and records for this Testarossa. They are all enveloped in the soft and durable Italian saddle leather.

This 512TR was bought new by Gary Golson from Monroe, LA. He bought it on January 16, 1992 from Ferrari South, Inc. in Jackson, MS. By the time of the 7,500 mile service this 512TR was at the Auto Toy Store in FL. The present owner, Dimitiri, is a tech leader and who has owned the 512 for the past five years. We represented the car in the sale from the prior owner, Greg, who is the highly regarded tech executive in San Diego. He has owned the car for the previous 15 years. Greg and Dimitiri are the third and fourth owners for the past 20 years. In early 2016, Dimitiri had the major service and timing belts and resealing performed by the renowned Ferrari engineers at Bobileff Motorcar Company in San Diego. And since then, it has received an annual service. The photos are from the prior sale, but the car has been nothing but improved since, and less than 500 miles have been added since.

This 512TR is ready to add to an important collection. It is perfectly spec’d and, after a full service, ready for Ferrari club events and incredible Friday evenings! For more details please call Harry at +1.623.404.9042 or email us at sales@classicpromenade.com. This 512TR is located in Northern California.

See inspection report, full photos, videos and more at classicpromenade.com.

We are pleased to present “Zelda”, a 1951 Rolls-Royce Silver Wraith Hooper Touring Limousine (chassis No. WOF17) that is a rust-free and beautiful example that has enjoyed the same owner for the past 35 years. WOF17 is a Hooper Touring Limousine with Body Design No. 8283. Zelda is one of 15 examples of this body design built during 1951.

The white livery is in excellent condition with beautiful luster and shine. Although an older repaint, there are no scratches, dents or areas where the paint has been rubbed through. There are only a few small chips where the hood opens, most of which have been touched up. The white paint is complemented by proper burgundy coach stripes. The chrome and stainless trim are all excellent, with the exception of the passenger side rear wheel cover trim ring which has peeling and imperfections. The radiator shell has the expected light scratches in the stainless. We love the style of the Hooper-designed rear quarter light glass. And the Lucas R100 headlights are beautiful and give the car an imposing and formal pre-War appearance.

The burgundy leather is soft and supple with only minimal wear present. There are no rips or tears. Matching burgundy seat belts have been added for four passengers. The wood grain is beautifully contrasted and is in very nice condition. There are no noticeable cracks or issues, it is in overall very good to excellent condition. The matching burgundy Wilton wool carpeting is done just right and in very good condition.

The interior has a multitude of custom features, including leather padded tables for rear seat occupants, foot rests, a built-in wood cabinet for cocktail requisites or other vanity items, a World Radio, etc. The tool kit is nearly complete and is under the passenger side glove box and the Owner’s Manual is in the glove box. The antenna comes with the car but is not mounted since it doesn’t retract and would be difficult to clear a normal garage door.

The engine runs perfectly. On December 4th, 2020, we operated it for about 30-35 minutes. The oil pressure was excellent. After 30 minutes, the oil pressure reading was 22-24 pounds at idle and 34 pounds at 50 mph. The operating temperature ranged from 70 to 80 degrees C with an ambient temperature of about 72 degrees F. All the instruments, including the low fuel light warning, work great. Ask us how we know about the low fuel warning! The turn signals and semaphores all work as they should. Overall, Zelda is a delight to drive in every respect. She handles well and effortlessly keeps up with modern traffic. And the power assisted brakes work beautifully.

HISTORY OF WOF17
Zelda was purchased new by Mr. D. King who was by then running the publicly traded automotive and industrial equipment manufacturer George W. King Ltd. In Stratford, London. On July 29th, 1966, Mr. PB Williamson of Wimbledon, London purchased the Rolls from Frank Dale & Sons, trading in his 1939 Rolls-Royce. A copy of this sales invoice is included with the motorcar.

By the 1980’s the Rolls had been imported to Southern California. The professional golfer, Gene Littler, enjoyed the Rolls in his collection of about 20 collector cars located in the San Diego area. He had 29 PGA Tour Tournament wins, eight PGA Championship wins and was inducted into the World Golf Hall of Fame in 1990. Mr. Littler just passed away in February 2019. By 1984, Mr. Littler traded the Silver Wraith into the Rolls-Royce dealership in order to acquire a Rolls-Royce Tiger Hunt motorcar. San Diego Ltd, the authorized San Diego area Rolls-Royce dealership, then offered WOF17 for sale, having accumulated about 52,000 miles. It is quite rare for Rolls-Royce dealerships to sell what was at that time a 33 year old motorcar. The Rolls was a beautiful example that had received a thorough restoration. Mr. TJ Moore also from the San Diego area purchased the Rolls for $52,000, which in 1984 was a handsome sum of money. He has enjoyed and maintained the Rolls ever since. Nearly all of the servicing since Mr. Moore acquired the Rolls has been performed by Symbolic Motor Cars. The odometer presently reads 57,185.

The Rolls is residing with its longtime owner in Southern California. Please call or text Harry Clark at +1.623.404.9042 or email us at sales@classicpromenade.com. We are pleased to help arrange transport worldwide.

This is a handsome example of the iconic 1949 MG TC roadster. Of the 10,000 built, this TC is one of only 494 desirable EXU-series models built expressly for US export, and also one of the last 150 cars constructed before the company switched to production of the TD model. It has been part of a significant Southern California collection for the past twelve years.

Its black livery is in nice overall driver-quality condition, having been repainted a few years ago. During the repaint the rubber seals and buffers were replaced as well. The tan Haartz cloth canvas top and tonneau cover were also replaced in the past couple years. The chrome and stainless are original and are in driver quality condition. One of the headlights would benefit from being re-chromed as the chrome is peeling. The wire wheels are correctly painted silver and in nice condition. We love the fold-down windshields featured on TCs. This TC does not have its side curtains.

The tan leather interior is either original or was redone decades ago. It is soft and supple but a couple seams have come undone and would need to be repaired. One feature of the EXU TCs is that the turn signals were prominently located.

This MG TC has a matching numbers engine and the engine compartment is largely correct and in good order. We would recommend a basic detailing and touching up the engine paint to make it presentable for shows. Nerfine bars were added decades ago as these were popular accessories in the 1950’s. This MG TC comes complete (the lid to the battery box is behind the seats along with additional spare parts).

For more details and information, please call or text Harry Clark at +1.623.404.9042 or email us at sales@classicpromenade.com. The TC remains with its owner in the Los Angeles area.

Complete photos, videos, and inspection report available at www.ClassicPromenade.com.

This is a sympathetically preserved 1948 Buick Roadmaster Sedanet (Style No: 4707) which has been owned by our collector client for the past 10 years. The owner is a longtime collector in North Hollywood and has enjoyed an interesting collection of significant cars.

This Roadmaster was built at Buick’s production facility in Southgate, CA (C-1084) and originally sold through a dealer in Long Beach, CA. In fact, this is 115,118th Roadmaster built.

This Roadmaster is also believed to have only one previous registered owner. The current owner purchased this car about 10 years ago through McCormick’s Auction in Palm Springs, CA. It had been sold by our friend Steve Snyder of Vault Cars in Orange County, CA. This Roadmaster has remained in an underground parking garage in Pasadena, CA ever since.

This Buick has an older repaint in an attractive two tone combination of Cumulus Grey (28) complimented by Nickel Grey (23). The roof still shows quite well with good shine, luster, and depth. There are some signs of cracking on the fenders, as well as very small paint chips throughout the entire body. The chrome work is overall in good to very good condition, with lots of shine and minimal imperfections. The cloisonne on the front and rear emblems are presentable, but showing age. Likewise, the whitewall tires are showing signs of yellowing and we recommend the next owner replace them.

The interior is a mix of some very well preserved original features and some long ago new items. Overall, there are many areas of the interior that are showing significant wear and/or age. The attractive and stain-free Grey Heather Bedford Cord seats (Trim 76) are very nice and comfortable. We did not notice any signs of significant wear or warping. The dash, headliner, steering wheel, and gauges are overall good to very good; they present well and are free of any major blemishes. The carpeting, weather stripping, door jambs, and shelf behind the rear seats, however, do require attention. These components are either worn, stained, or otherwise in less than stellar condition. However, it does not greatly detract from the appeal of this Roadmaster.

Mechanically, this Buick is in good running condition. We were unable to perform a test drive on the car, other than moving it around the parking garage. Our impressions were fine. The car started right up, ran and idled smoothly, the transmission shifted into gear with ease, and the brakes felt solid. The owner has also informed us that the car does drive well, but that the clutch has a tendency to make a “noise” when coasting in first gear.

This Buick has been reasonably well cared for. The fuel lines have been coated to prevent vapor locking. The lighting systems and horn function properly. The owner informed us that speedometer and odometer are not working. The actual millage is unknown, but it is believed to be around 165,000 miles. We did note that the tires are old and likely in need of replacing. We would also recommend that the next owner do a full fluid flush on this car before a longer drive.

Overall, we found this to be a very charming Roadmaster which would show well at a local or regional car show. It also has the potential to be a very fun touring car with a small amount of work.

Details about this Roadmaster’s condition are included in the 158-point inspection report which is published as part of this listing. This car is located in Pasadena, CA.
