Harry's Thoughts

This is a very nice example that is sure to help make its new caretaker many happy memories!

THE ESSENTIALS

We are pleased to offer this one-owner CA Jeep with an amazing 29,000 original miles and in nearly as-new condition.  The chassis appears as though this Jeep has never seen rain or have been off road, ever.  This CJ7 has always been garaged and when it was used to drive a couple miles to work it was immediately covered with a car cover during the day,  and it shows!  The original soft top looks nearly new and there are almost no signs of use throughout.  This is the way to buy one!

This Jeep was bought new in September 11, 1985 by Don Reda in Temple City, CA.  He bought it from Milne Bros AMC on Colorado Blvd in Pasadena.  Don used this sparingly and kept it long after he had a use for it.  It wasn’t until his passing last year that the family has decided to sell this fabulous Jeep.

Look at the massive stack of maintenance receipts, CA registration papers, etc amassed by Mr. Reda.  The documents show that by 1989 he added 14,557 miles and by 1989 14,557 and by 1993 22,380 miles.  Now, with only 29,000 miles the Jeep is nearly as new.

We love the white paint and Honey interior, carpeting and top.  The Renegade striping is also done in a coordinated color to add a bit of class and sportiness to the Jeep.

This includes the hardtop and steel doors for winter and safety.  They are also in pristine condition.  The Jeep has the venerable straight six engine and automatic transmission with four wheel drive.  It has power steering and brakes and a nice array of instrumentation including a tachometer.  Only the fuel gauge is not functioning.

This is a very rare find.  For more details please call Harry at 602.245.7200 or email us at harry@classicpromenade.com.

Interesting Fact: The Jeep CJ7 was in production from 1976 to 1986 and has a longer wheelbase than traditional models. Overall, the CJ-Class of Jeep is aa series of off-road vehicles that are known for their open-bodies. Success was widespread with these models and, in fact, the 1945 Willys Jeep was the first mass-produced four-wheel drive vehicle for the average consumer.   Specifically, the CJ7 differed from other models due to its chassis. Over its 11-year run, it is reported that 379,299 models were built with two models that could be purchased beyond the base: The Renegade and Laredo models. The latter of the two features leather bucket seats and a chrome package, whereas the former is extremely similar to the base design.   There were a variety of engines dropped into the vehicle, but the most powerful is a 5.0-liter AMC V8 engine. As was tradition with Jeep, the Army used their vehicles extensively for various services. Due to the history and likeability of this vehicle, along with the wide array of trim packages, the CJ7 is a desired car for many collectors!
