This is a very nice example that is sure to help make its new caretaker many happy memories!

THE ESSENTIALS

SOLD to California!! This is a very nice example of a 1977 Rolls-Royce Silver Shadow II that has been enjoyed and maintained consistently. This Shadow presents elegantly in its Mason’s Black livery with beautiful chrome and stainless. This is a Silver Shadow that would be a wonderful tour car and a car that can be enjoyed regularly.

This was a special order Rolls-Royce that was delivered new to Saudi Arabia for a member of the Bin Ladin construction family. Immediately upon its delivery to Saudi Arabia it was transported to Beverly Hills, California. By 1998 is was owned by Tom Zevely in Southern California. In April of 2000 is was acquired by long-time RROC member Marc Fleming of Spokane, WA. Mr. Fleming has enjoyed the Silver Shadow for the past two decades, is the present owner and our consignment client. The motorcar has accumulated 75,500 miles since new although the odometer is in kilometres. We love the Euro look from the front spoiler and driving lights.

The Mason’s Black paint is in very nice condition being original with only some repaint for the trunk lid as well as the bonnet. The paint has a deep luster and shine with only two minor areas of touched up paint, one being very small chips on lip of the front spoiler and a small scrape on the drivers side rear wheel well. Both have been touched up and are visible only upon close inspection. The paint is complimented with the Black Everflex roof that provides a very formal and elegant appearance. The chrome and stainless are in very nice condition.

The interior is all original and also in very nice condition. The Parchment Leather is very nice with no rips or tears. Its dye has been touched up previously and there is a small stain about the size of a dime on the passenger side front seat and there is normal age related creasing evident. The leather is what one would expect from parchment dyed leather of this age and wear. The rear seat, as is often the case, looks nearly as new in all regards. The wood is excellent with no cracking or fading. This is a sign of the care the car has received and the fact that it has been garaged its entire life. The 158 point inspection report is available and found everything to be in proper working order. Ask us to email you a copy of the inspection report, or you can use this link:

The hydraulic systems have been serviced with the fluids more recently being changed. The self-leveling system works as it should and this Rolls drives beautifully. We have 11 pages of service history available for your review. But it is all ready to be enjoyed by its new caretaker. It comes complete with all service history, shop manuals, owners manual, tools, jack and spare.

The Silver Shadow is available for viewing in Spokane, WA. For more information and details please call, text or email Harry Clark at +1.602.245.7200 or harry@classicpromenade.com.

Interesting Fact: The Rolls-Royce Silver Shadow is a full-sized luxury car produced by British automaker Rolls-Royce in various forms from 1965 to 1980. It was the first of the marque to use unitary body and chassis construction. The Silver Shadow II was produced from 1977 to 1980. To date, the combined model run (Silver Shadow I + Silver Shadow II) has the largest production volume of any Rolls-Royce.   In 1977, the model was renamed the Silver Shadow II in recognition of several major changes, most notably rack and pinion steering; modifications to the front suspension improved handling markedly. Externally, the bumpers were changed from chrome to alloy and rubber starting with the late 1976 Silver Shadows. These new energy-absorbing bumpers had been used in the United States since 1974, as a response to tightening safety standards there. Nonetheless, the bumpers on cars sold outside of North America were still solidly mounted and protruded 2 in (5 cm) less. Also now made standard across the board was the deletion of the small grilles mounted beneath the headlamps. Outside of North America, where tall curbs and the like demanded more ground clearance, a front skirt was also fitted to the Silver Shadow II and its sister cars.   In 1979, 75 Silver Shadow II cars were specially fitted to commemorate the 75th anniversary of the company with the original red "RR" badges front and rear, pewter/silver paint, grey leather with red piping, scarlet red carpets, and a silver commemorative placard on the inside of the glove box door. Approximately 33 75th anniversary cars were designated for and shipped to the North American market, making this an extremely rare find for collectors around the world!
