THE ESSENTIALS

1936 Packard Eight R/S Coupe, Ca Car, Low Mi., Rare and gorgeous!

[svgallery name=”1936_Packard_Rumble”]

This 1936 Packard has the gorgeous sleek and sexy two passenger coupe body with the rumbleseat to allow for four to five passengers. At first we thought that is was an older restoration of  a low mileage original car.  After detailed inspection we have determined that this is a fabulous original car that was simply repainted years ago.  The interior is amazing!!

This car has been a veteran of numerous car tours.  Packard’s smooth and powerful standard eight engine make for dependably and pleasurable touring.

This motorcar has benefited from the addition of an overdrive unit for more relaxed highway driving and better fuel economy.  This coupe also has the optional auxiliary driving lights and luggage rack.

The Packard Eight is a Full Classic and thus can participate in all CCCA events as well as AACA and Packard club tours and shows.  This is a rare opportunity to own a great looking classic Packard that should provide it’s new owner with ample fun and rave reviews!  This motorcar is being serviced and detailed and will be ready soon for a complete gallery of photos and videos.

The Value Guide has published ranges for this model from “Average” condition at $62.9k to a “High” of $114.2k.  See the following: NADA Price Guide

The Packard Eight was a luxury automobile produced by Packard between 1924 and 1936, and was a progression from the earlier Packard Six which was first introduced in 1913. Offered in four models, the Standard Eight, Custom Eight, De Luxe Eight, and Speedster it was initially powered by a low-compression aluminum-head L-head inline eight producing 90 bhp (hence the name). Power would be upgraded through the years. Through the years the Eight offered optional (no extra cost) four-speed synchromesh transmission. Like other Packards of this era, it featured Ride Control, a system of dash-adjustable hydraulic shock absorbers. The Eight also featured automatic chassis lubrication and "shatterproof" glass. The Eight was available on several wheelbases: 127.5 in and 134.5 in for the 1930 Standard Eight, 140 in and 145.5 in for the De Luxe in 1931, 130 in and 137 in for the 1932 Standard Eight. For 1938, the Eight's wheelbase was stretched 7 in over 1937, and the body was also wider.
